Fill up as many containers as you want (or bring your own ans weigh it) and then pay accordingly. There is also a refrigerator with pre-picked pints if you're strapped for time. The farm is clean and well-maintained, signage is clear, and the blueberries are delicious. I'm looking forward to going back!

They had plenty of ground pork, bone in and boneless pork chops, sweet/hot/summer sausages, pork ribs, ham and bacon mostly. Fresh eggs, raw milk, chocolate milk and regular milk. I found the prices fair and came away with three packages of pork chops, one each of sweet and hot sausage and bacon for around $26 bucks. I found it to be a good value. I also picked up some raw milk which was delicious in our coffee over the holiday weekend. We marinated and baked the pork chops and I found them to be of good quality. We grilled the sausages and the hot had a very nice kick, the regular sweet Italian sausage had some peppery kick as well. The bacon came in thinner slices and well as thicker wider cuts so if your a fan of bacon size variety you'll like the bacon. All in all I found the experience worthwhile. Good people and quality local meats, can't beat that!

This caused me to not only ask but start searching for grass-fed, local-sourced meat nearby. Yelp listed Kessler as closed but I had an odd feeling that I should call. I did travel an hour from NJ to get here so might as well give it a shot...or beg. Someone answered and they were open for another hour! Rushed over to the store and found a very non-descript structure...but this is PA so what the heck. After trying door number 3, and not listening to my wife who kept yelling "it's that door!", I came into a 50 square foot which is the...store. It had 2 massive freezer units and a whole-lotta meat that was sealed and frozen. This is not the cheapest but you can't buy this kind of meat in the grocery store or even butcher by me. 4 ribeyes, 3 packs of grain-fed ground beef (the grass-fed was leaner), one large turkey kielbasa-like sausage, whole bird and 2 thighs with legs attached clocking at $110 is not bad at all. Plus ribeyes were apparently $18/lb when I was there. I got two charming wooden nickels where the 10th one gets me a free ground meat I believe. Very cute for having spent over $600 on just beef (pounding chest). Will definitely come back since I cooked up the ground beef and ribeye when I got home and they were amazing and tender.

(This is about visiting during Northampton County Open Gate Farm Tour Weekend)…read more Some farms are bigger than others. Some farms have more to see than others. Some farms are just more interesting than others. To me the above are three simple truths and not that I'm trying to rip on Spring Valley but I guess you are what you is. Spring Valley compared to mega farms like Klein in Easton, Marwell in Coopersburg or Heidel in Bangor is a speck on the map. It's a small dairy farm that also grows their own corn and hay which is fed to their herd. The good stuff is that they had signs up in certain places explaining what you're looking at. It was useful for the barns, milking area and the combine. It also did a decent job explaining the milking process. The downside would be that while the farm is small, it would have been nice to have had some family/staff to guide people or offer some type of a tour or further explain some things like their manure handling system. Not a huge issue but it would have been nice. They had ice cream for sale (not their own but large buckets of Turkey Hill) along with some baked goods and some honey/jams/jellies/preserves. We bought a few things as we do at every farm we go to especially here since it seemed like they do not have an onsite retail presence past what they set up for special occasions. Easy in/easy out and were on our way in about thirty minutes having seen everything there is to see.

They arranged for wood delivery the same week and had an incredibly reasonable price for a cord of wood (175/cord) and a 40.00 delivery fee. They arrived at our house exactly on time and unloaded the wood with care in the exact spot we specified. The wood itself is well seasoned and looks great. I see they also have some animals available for sale and I'm sure their products. I see on their sites all animals are nourished and cared for without the use of hormones or antibiotics which is awesome. Their veggies are also organic from the looks! I am very excited to have found this gem!

They grape is small size , at the very sweet outside, little sour inside. Delicious It's only $1/lb! They also sell grape juice, grape wine here. On weekend they even offer lunch, but heard sold out quickly. So make sure you call and reserve yours!

During the visit, only three were available bring said the first week after its season opening. It was a great opportunity to be the firsts of many enjoying its full orchard entirety to ourselves . We were able to pick our ordered pieces. Pricing is per pound. Pricing is affordable and within the standard. They offer fresh picked vegetables, jams and fruit preserves as well. The teens on registers are so nice, helpful and honest to goodness kind hearted people. A recommended orchard in the area. Small but complete with what you need for apple season.

They are friendly and knowledgeable about the farm, they know the areas where you are allowed to pick apples, they will give tips on the best Apple picking experience, help you find the right Apple variety for eating and baking and will have a chat with costumers to ensure that you will have a fun, safe and memorable day. Some of the Apple variety available in their farm includes Ginger gold, Gala, Honey crisp, McIntosh, Copeland, Macoun, Fiji, Red delicious, Golden delicious, Jonagold, Crisper, Cameo. After picking enough apples, we headed back to the pop-up canopies where we earlier met the staff. We noticed that they are selling a variety of vegetables which includes potatoes, string beans, egg plant, squash, corn and a few more. Aside from vegetables they are also selling fruit jellies, fruit preserves, fruit butters, fruit jams and fruit spreads. So we bought some of their goods and produce as we have noticed that they offer it at a fair price. All-in-all it was an idyllic day spent in the orchard, with a basket full of perfect, crisp apples and a heart full of happiness.
