Please, please don't ever get surgery for you animals here! Dr Covington convinced me that my 14 yr old lab needed fatty tumors removed. I said that I didn't want an invasive surgery since she was so old. She said the surgery was fine and easy and she does old dogs all the time She did surgery and only took out one tumor we discussed but when I picked her up she had another 3 in incision by her chest. Two days later leaking blood. I take her back in and they do 2 procedures to " fix" it that day. when I pick her up she can't even walk. The next day the sutures are opening up. Call her. She says to just keep the wound clean. I take pic and email her. No word back. She dies the next day. Devastated. Never hear a word back. She killed my dog. Unnecessary surgery which resulted in death. Incompetant and uncaring. charged me for each visit. Didnt even call me to say she was sorry. DO NOT GO HERE If you want your pet to live. worst vet experience of my life and I've had many labs and goldens! here is a pic of it just opening up after 3 procedures. Horrible and horrible not to respond to my email!

My dog was extremely sad when we picked her up from this vet. Her face also has scratches

Yesterday I tried to establish a new veterinarian for my beautiful pit Greycie and this was the end result. Be very careful of this nasty little woman who claims she cares about animals. Read the reviews carefully!! THIS IS A NO ACCOUNTABILITY ESTABLISHMENT. Patricia accuses me of neglect because SHE DID NIT MAKE SURE GREYCIE HAD HEAD PROTECTION ON WHILE BEIBG LEFT ALONE. My email to them... To the owner of Mitchell Mill Veterinary Hospital, I am emailing you with my request for what occurred yesterday with my pet Greycie. When I phoned in and spoke with Amber I was very clear on Greycie's condition. My dog suffers from anxiety and allergies, with the two of these issues we don't know what makes her scratch her head and chew on her paws. I informed the front desk that the quality of life for my animal is poor due to her health. I let Amber know that we cannot leave Greycie by herself AT ALL, and when we do she has to wear a cone. I also informed Amber that the expensive vet trips with no solution is causing me financial strain and I really need to get to the bottom of what's really causing the issue and no more guessing games. She suggested several steps for us to take and I sent every doctors note that has been written about Greycie to date. Once I arrived I was given more expressive suggestions for my dog which I agreed to sedate my dog, nails, anal gland, ears, and the more expensive bloodwork for my almost four year old dog because I'm desperate for answers and it wasn't necessary for her to get the full bloodwork. Her thyroid is running high or low she couldn't remember but it just wasn't necessary for the full panel. My final total came to 638$ !!! Amber is a great person to have at the front desk. She is friendly, communicates promptly, and knows how to up-sale which in turn is fabulous for the business. After I got my dog back I read yelp reviews And learned that most customers like Amber. She was helpful in all aspects in securing Greycie's appointment. I don't know how your office works or who takes care of the animals in the back, but you guys dropped the ball BIG TIME. My 17 yr old picked her up and told me he had a lengthy wait time while picking her up because they discovered Greycie in her cage covered in blood and was tying to clean her up while he waited. Amber stated that Greycie was alone for 15 mins when they went back to get her... I don't know the validity of the time she was left alone but when I saw my dog I was shooketh! I am attaching photos and have Video documenting her wounds as well. I phoned Amber immediately and was too upset to really talk to her but I did let her know that her heads up was not the appropriate response for the situation. This is not a situation that an apology can remedy, she is supposed to phone me in the morning so I can calm down per my request. Greycie's head is raw and oozing blood, her wounds will require weeks of monitoring and treatment and for me to drop my dog off in a better state at a alone but when I saw my dog I was in shooketh! Greycie's head is raw and oozing blood, her wounds will require weeks of monitoring and treatment and for me to drop my dog off in a better state at a veterinarian and receive her back like this is appalling. Greycie cried for the remainder of the day, we had to keep her by our sides because now she's in pain even more from her wounds and she has not stopped shaking her head. The cortisone shot would have only worked if it was the only problem and not her anxiety mixed with it. She was not properly secured when left alone and she will now be dealing with the process of healing from what she did while being monitored at your hospital. The only remedy I have for this situation is for me to return your meds and for you all to refund me back my $490 that I paid in cash. This being our first visit to your business was not a good experience. I will await a response from who is in charge of these type of decisions before moving forward with anything else. It was your job to keep Greycie safe from others and herself because I informed you of this specific Issue with her. I'm ending this email now and I hope to hear from you all tomorrow. Update Your email is outlandish and insulting! Not one time did I give you an attitude while speaking to you! Trying to understand my bill was what we were talking about so for you to say that is stereotypical and just a reminder of why current affairs between Americans are the way they are. Never once did I disrespect Amber, Amber is the only thing you have going on for your clinic.

We have never had a problem and feel completely comfortable leaving our 'kids' there. Joan sends us a short video of our pups each day so that we can see they are having A BALL while we are missing them from far away. Joan does a great job watching after the dogs. She is a friendly and wonderful person. I can't imagine being more comfortable leaving my dogs with anyone else. And the property is beautiful! Joan only takes in a limited number of dogs at any one time (I think the number is 6 or 8) so each dog gets plenty of attention. The sleeping quarters are clean and each dog has a large area to relax in. Outside there is a HUGE fenced in area that used to be used for horses that the dogs now use to run and play with each other. It's tough to judge a dog camp the first time you see it. Everything may look great and you may have read a review or have been referred by a friend, but you never really know. Its only on the second visit that you get a real indication as to how well the a dog camp treats its guests and you get that indication FROM YOUR DOG. Nowadays we can't get within a half mile of Buzzy's before our dog starts jumping around and singing excitedly in the back of our truck. In short, our dog LOVES to visit Buzzy's Bark-n-Run! Then at the end of the visit I think our pup is actually disappointed to see us when we show up to pick her up! The bottom line is that dogs don't want to leave Buzzy's! This may be the easiest Five Star Review I've ever written for Yelp.

Her understanding of dogs is amazing--she was able to correctly assess the personality of our Roxie within two minutes of meeting her--and when Roxie seemed stressed at night, Joan was able to find a solution that calmed her and made her a happier camper. Joan also helped to reduce our stress by giving us text updates and sending us videos of Roxie romping with other campers. After looking at other boarding places with metal crates on concrete floors in giant warehouses, seeing Buzzy's immediately felt like coming home, with fields of green grass for Roxie to run on, and chickens and donkeys for her to watch and bark at. (So, I guess Roxie did fulfill both parts of the "bark" and "run" promise of the camp.) Joan is no-nonsense, the way you want in someone caring for your loved pet...but she is also obviously in love with all the creatures on her farm. Roxie came home happy, healthy, and worn-out. We are thrilled to have found Buzzy's, and we will definitely be boarding Roxie here again.

One of our dogs gets very anxious and aggressive around new people. It takes a long time for him to recognize new people as being safe. One of the caregivers came over for a temperament test and it didn't go well at all. I had high hopes that they could work with him but I quickly realized that they couldn't, and she agreed. The issue is the there is no guarantee that the same sitter will come to your home to watch your pets. I contacted them several months in advance and they still could not work with me to have one person watch my dogs. I understand that this is how they run their business and respect it. That said, I would only recommend them if your dogs are not anxious like mine and are okay with different people coming over to watch them.

I typically groom my own fur daughter, as the wait in our previous city could be in excess of three months wait time. The groomer did a normal shave down with poofing her head and tail. Nothing special. Her ears were also shaved off. Typically groomers can work out the curls on the ears as our girl has extremely curly fur that often gets tangled. A fifty dollar extra charge for "de-matting" was interesting as she shaved our dog down. Shaving doesn't require de-matting. I could do the same cut at home and often poodle owners shave their dogs down, no "de-matting" necessary. Lastly, the groomer mentioned her inner ears needing to be cut or plucked because they can cause issues. First time I've ever had a groomer mention this. Noted, no vet ever mentioned this being an issue. So, we asked our vet, and they stated that if a dog isn't having issues, then it's best to leave the inner ears alone, as it can cause issues from groomers cutting or plucking their ears. $233.64 dollar charge for this grooming in a little town called Wake Forest. Atlanta and Dallas did a better job and charged less for a superior groom. Needless to say, I will not be going back for grooming here.
