After reading Bucky M.'s review from 2011, I thought, "yeah, I could see that." But my husband has bought several pairs of work boots there over the years and never heard him complain. I had gone on the site to find business hours because he wanted to go and get a new pair of boots today. Said it was open, so off he went. Came back a half hour later saying the owner barely acknowledged him when he asked for a pair of 10 1/2 wide. Eluding to no 10 1/2's left, she sort of tossed a pair of 11's at him and ran to accommodate the only other customer who had walked in just then. See went running up with size 10 1/2 for the second guy, proceeded to chat away with the second customer and never gave hubby another glance. (Apparently he was more important). He stood there awhile, patiently waiting. Heard something about those being the last in that size, waited a little longer to talk to her maybe about ordering some or when they'd have more in stock. She never came back, so he left mad. Said he'll go to Surplus Outlet in Houghton and will never be back to Mitch's. We're both from Baraga and try to support local business first. Can't even blame it on staff, this was the OWNER. And to treat a repeat customer like he wasn't worth her time.... Probably a $250 pair of boots she lost out on today, plus regular/future sales.
