NOV 30, 2018 - Don't know why this was taken down Yelp! but I am reposting:…read more Finally an audition yesterday (been a bit quiet lol) and as always, warm-up before going in with 10 counts of happy, ten counts of sad etc. The energy and electricity I could feel in my body radiating to my arms before I went in was amazing. I went in with that energy and was so present about what I was feeling and how it changed as the audition went on. I did what was expected of me, what I have been taught: the job was the audition and I showed up for that job in a way that I know I don't always...and it made a huge difference. Whether I get the part or not, it doesn't matter. It was a chance to have a practical application of the theories from MDS. I was prepared and did what I was trained to do; the outcome is irrelevant. Thank you Michael for your guidance, wisdom and techniques. And thank you to my classmates who through their energy and support, help me to find and be the actor I want to be. Much love! Aug 8 - So follow up...I didn't get the part but as I said, no problem as the audition was the job and I nailed it. However, they called me back for another part and doing the exact same technique, I booked it!!!! Michael, I can't thank you enough. Vogue is an older theatre with some renovations. It seems the seats were most recently updated and…read morefor the worst. They reduced the size of the seats and the space between the rows of seating. I'm 5'6" and it is uncomfortable to sit through a 1 hour 30 min standup. If you're not sitting at the end you are likely going to bruise your shins walking through. Good luck trying to let someone pass without leaving the row. People have fallen flat on their faces trying to get out. It seems like a safety issue. As it's an older theatre, the floor is pretty flat. Not tiered like newer movie theatres. Recently went to a show where they posted no photos of the show were allowed. The security guards paced through the middle aisle throughout the show. It was pretty distracting. During concerts they remove about half the rows for standing room. Oftentimes though the balcony is closed off. Washrooms are on the second floor. Only 3 stalls in the women's washroom as one is forever out of order.
