I can't begin to tell you how great it feels to finally be back in a position that I have a home of my own once again. You helped to make that happen and your contributions are without question. The level of insight, expertise, hope and steadfast resolve that you displayed on a consistent basis helped to calm me and guide me through this process. Your recommendations on whom to build the team with were second to none as well! At the risk of sounding dramatic, I wanted say from the very bottom of my heart that I am grateful to know you and appreciate much about you. People like us can be (as I've been told), polarizing. I suppose that's a nice way of saying they either love us or hate us. I'm OK with that and have learned that I'm attracted to others like myself, with similar styles and values. I couldn't be happier that I know you. Furthermore, I believe that life is cyclical and that what goes around, comes around. You showed trust, kindness and respect to me during a time of of such deep change that you couldn't possibly know. That kindness was never forgotten. I realize it's just a house, but for me, it represents six years of struggle, recovery and healing. My experience with We Know Realty was excellent. In the past, I've done apartment hunts on my own…read moreusing craigslist, and it was a treat to be driven around to a range of apartments in different parts of the city. This also really helped since I'm moving from another city and am not familiar with various neighborhoods in Chicago. Kristin was AMAZING! We clearly stated our budget, and the key parts of an apartment (an outdoor space and gas stove at least!). She really delivered. We filled out our application and she immediately got the ball rolling with the landlord. Definitely couldn't have done it with out her! I'm not sure what the 1 star review is talking about - perhaps she's new to city life? Everywhere I've lived one has to pay first month and security deposit (and sometimes last months rent in addition!), and fees are all set by the landlord, generally not the realty company. You might be able to save a little money by finding a landlord yourself to rent from directly, but I think the work that these realtors put in made it very worthwhile.
