This is more of a character testimonial, than your standard review. Recently moved back to the Hudson Valley after a bunch of time in the nonprofit sector in PA, Marco and I had been friends and had worked together previously. He had been encouraging me to move back up as I have had a few losses and it has been a difficult time. Marco hooked me up with me some work immediately so I could stand on my feet and volunteered his time to help clear a space on a farm for me to live. It is a small production farm with a supportive and wonderful community that is definitely under-resourced. He routinely finds useful stuff to repurpose which he passes on and is always open to a question or conversation trying to solve a problem. Most recently, things slowed back down again and I ran out of firewood, he gave me a cord and a half from his personal stock to last me the rest of the winter and told me not to worry about it and that I could just come split some more in the spring time to restock his shed. I don't really have words for how thankful I am and how it would've been easy for him to say as a friend hearing my woes, wow that sucks, and then keep it moving, but that's not the type of person he is. Marco and I have had a decade long relationship that spans employer, mentor, friend, volunteer, accountability partner, general life coach. Because of his encouragement and guidance, I have launched a small business and have been building capacity here at the farm. ML Landscaping went beyond our expectations. We wanted them to remove some large rocks and boulders left from a rock wall. There were also several large tree stumps from some trees we had cut down earlier which they ground up and removed at a very reasonable price. They then graded the area, removed many smaller rocks so that we are now able to either seed the area or plant a ground cover. Mark knows what he is doing with excavating equipment and my home was left in the original condition it was prior the excavation. We had several trees come down on our property during a storm last spring. A lot of Dutchess County was devastated at the time and there were several companies going door-to-door with outrageous prices. ML Landscaping was not only very fair and reasonable but they got the job done quickly and efficiently. We were without electricity and we were told that Central Hudson could not come until the trees were safely removed. When I explained this to Mark the owner he assured me that he would have a crew at my house first thing in the morning and his promise was indeed kept. When I returned home from work that day my driveway and front yard was completely clear and there were a couple of men with leaf blowers cleaning temporary off the driveway. The yard and driveway looked better then before the storm. Later that night I received a phone call from the owner for the sole purpose of ensuring that I was completely satisfied with the work. I have since recommended this company to other members of my community. I have a lot of respect for honesty and integrity and the storm was a result of a lot of price gouging but not from M L Landscaping as they were Fair and very reasonable. Mark did a wonderful job--we'd had an old pool and deck removed (wish we'd had him it!), and Mark removed deck footings, graded and added topsoil, seeded and added hay.
