He had the entire room dancing all night so we just we went up to him and got his card. It was still in my wallet 2 years later, so we called him and set everything up. We decided to get married at a restaurant called Carnivale and rocked it! His name is Jesse. He's very organized, VERY professional and VERY helpful. We told him what we wanted and he delivered with ease. He will offer tons of suggestions to make your wedding as special as possible and he didn't disappoint. In a sense, he kind of works as a day of coordinator to keep things on schedule. We LOVED him. His cost was $1000 which was pretty good for his service. He doesn't charge for working over a few extra hours and his basic package includes his state of the art sound system, 2 wireless microphones (which one did temporarily stop working during me reading my vows but he made up for that with his service), access to this really cool website that allows you to create a timeline for your event, add music that you want to play or don't want to play, and set music to play at certain points during the wedding. We were so confident in Jesse that we paid him in full up front but he only requires I believe at least 25% deposit and the rest before or at your event. We got nothing but positive feedback from our guests about him. One of our friends was shocked that he wore a tux because DJs typically don't do that. The music was the best hits of the 90s, early 2000s and whatever else we wanted to hear. There was even a woman there with a leg brace on that refused to sit down because the music and mixes were just so good! We'd definitely hire DJ Persist again and we are so glad we picked him. If you are contemplating, do it. You will not be disappointed!

He's willing to go over anything with you and makes you feel like any question is okay. One of my pet peeves is when I feel anxious around vendors to ask questions or schedule appointments, but Mike made everything so smooth. He'd be willing to meet up whenever to talk in person or over the phone. It was just as great then on the day of. I wanted something more than a traditional photo booth at our wedding and was thrilled to find out they offered 360 video booths. They were also offering a deal that included their roamer ring service during cocktail hour - I was sold! On the day of the wedding, Ryan was set up exactly on time and he was FANTASTIC about seeking out guests to capture using the Roamer Ring. I'm so grateful for this as I'm certain he captured photos of guests that otherwise would not have been targeted by our professional photography team. Our guests had a BLAST using the 360 booth - it truly brought out some hilariously goofy sides of friends and family that I'd never witnessed before lol. Ryan also was kind enough to bring along an extra vintage phone to be used as an audio guest book which provided us with some really funny and heartfelt messages we'll cherish forever. It also just looked cool sitting amongst our gift table haha. They have an awesome online planning tool on the website that makes it super easy to pick out songs and plan your reception timeline, etc. I was really nervous picking a DJ cause I've been planning my wedding music since I was like 10, and I knew exactly what I wanted-- a lot of old school, non-cheesy, not-typical-wedding songs and I wasn't sure how an experienced DJ would feel about my need for total control LOL!! But Eric and my DJ, Mark, were both awesome! like I said, you are able to go online and input the songs for all the traditional dances and intros, then you pick about 60 songs: 20 must-play, 20 others you'd like to hear, and 20 don't-play (which was cool, cause I wanted NO chicken dance, hokey pokey, wonderful tonight, love shack, barfy cliche wedding songs). I was also pretty adamant about the slow songs I wanted. Mark did an AWESOME job of staying true to my list while also adding in some surprise songs that I hadn't thought of but flowed perfectly with the songs I picked. He was also really good at reading the crowd and played stuff that got everyone involved. The dance floor was packed the whole night, my grandma line-danced to Robin Thicke, and my husband's aunt danced on the table to some Motown, so I'd say the evening was a success! The prices were reasonable, and they had a lot of optional add-ons like up lighting, slideshows, etc, which I didn't use but it's nice to know they are available. He has a great voice to MC an event; is very professional in both appearance and demeanor. He did music for both the ceremony and the reception. He was the first vendor at the courthouse that afternoon to set up. For the ceremony, my daughter, had him do about 15 seconds of one song to which he looped so it played over again without any problems. She had some pretty set ideas about what she didn't want at the reception and he stayed true to that. People were dancing and having a great time all evening! When the shuttle bus was late bringing guests and we decided to delay the ceremony, he offered to go talk to the caterers. He actually worked it all out with them which took the stress off of us. This was going totally above and beyond! We are not from Crown Point, and this is our first daughter married, so we had no experience with DJ's in the area. I'm not going to lie, but I was a bit disappointed with some big deal things on our wedding because…read moreof our DJ. Matt seemed to have some great reviews that looked promising. When I contacted him, he had amazing communication, made great suggestions, and worked with me through planning, so I was hopeful about our big day. On the day of our wedding, he arrived at our venue early and made sure that his equipment worked, and he had a good "stage presence" because he was dressed for the occasion, which made us happy. He also did a great job following my created playlist for our ceremony, and he played everything on time. On the other hand, during our reception, most names in our wedding party were pronounced wrong even though I put the written pronunciations of everyone's last name on our sheet, and I gave him a copy of this well in advance. He never asked to meet us in person or Zoom, nor did he ask us how to pronounce anything. He even said our married last name incorrectly as we walked into the reception, so I am happy we didn't have a videographer because that would have been embarrassing. My husband's brother and sister walked into our reception as the first bridesmaid and groomsman, and Matt called Jackie (my husband's sister), Jessica, so not only did he call me (the bride) Jessica but he also called her by my new married name. During our reception, he was very nice to my husband and I, but he didn't really announce much and didn't say anything or update the playlist to get the crowd moving. As someone who has been to plenty of weddings after having mine, normally DJs will make flexible changes to get the crowd dancing and they will also say things to get everyone on their feet. Sure, there were certain times we had tons of people on the dance floor, but many times, it seemed bare. Many people told me they requested songs, but he never played any unless I personally went up to him and requested them; my mom even told him that she was the mother of the bride and wanted to play a song he never played. I did have a "Do Not Play List" of 2 songs, but I never said I didn't allow people to request songs, so that was very disheartening to hear. He also cut our first dance song and my father/daughter dance a bit too quickly before they were 100% over, which made me sad. I realize many DJs like doing this to save time, but he didn't ask us beforehand if we wanted that, and I didn't know that I was supposed to request the full song to be played. The dances all just seemed extremely rushed, one after another without any breaks in between, and they slowly faded right before he announced the next dance to start. Although there were some things I would definitely change, there were some memorable positives, as well. His company was able to provide us with a photobooth, which was a huge hit, so I am glad we added that into our celebration, and it wasn't too expensive. He played many songs that were on the list of songs we asked him to play, and he was very nice when we actually met him in person. As I stated above, he did a wonderful job at our ceremony, the sound for everything was great, and he was professional with his attire and with how early he arrived. He was even flexible with staying a bit later when some of the timing changed, and his communication when planning our event and booking him was great.
