So I lodged a complaint with the broker of Record at Century 21 Heritage Group. Usually names are not permitted in Yelp reviews but they are when its a real estate agent since the name is the brand/business. I'm not sure if this applies to the Broker of Record at a Real Estate Brokerage bcs its the same as a real estate agent...the name is the brand/business. I'll still be discrete and say her name is P***la P***cott.
I told her that an agent working for her brokerage had sent me such messages and her instant reaction was to jump to his defense and ask if I said I was going to fail to close the transaction. She didnt at all seem bothered by fact that a customer/client was calling to let her know that one of her agents was making threats and clearly violating regulatory, moral and ethical boundaries. In fact, in response to my suggestion that I felt that he had violated regulations, she told me that she felt I was threatening her. Then she again returned to the suggestion that I may fail to close on the property that I had purchased. She also said that her firm didn't represent me...to which I responded...that doesn't really seem to be the point does it?
She then went on to say that I should send all the evidence I have to her and she will be on vacation for the next few weeks but that she would look through it and let me know if she felt it warranted a response. I have now complained to the Real Estate Council of Ontario and hope they will take this matter up.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS REAL ESTATE AGENT OR CENTURY 21 HERITAGE GROUP. They will use dirty tactics, technical loop holes and whatever else they can to evade accountability if you, as a client or a prospective client, end up on their bad side. Often times there are millions of dollars at stage and agents and brokers are milking this real estate boom for every dollar by flipping properties numerous times....I did pay out over $100,000 in "assignment fees" to this agent's client that had purchased the property from this agent's other client...and he seems far too eager to ensure that it doesnt close and he can sell it again to someone else...and it makes me question why thats the case
Ordinarily responsible companies will take complaints seriously and try to resolve issues even if technically, they didn't sign an agreement with you. When you walk into a McDonalds and get treated unfairly, they dont tell you that you dont have an agreement with them. Similarly, one doesn't expect that a franchise of a reputable brand like Century 21 would treat buyers this way even if they didn't represent them in the purchase...after all, I did buy the property and I did give it (and other properties) to their agent to sell again after I closed on them. When a company can treat customers in this way..there is simply no reason to trust them or do business with them. I feel Century 21 head office in Canada needs to investigate this brokerage and I intend to send them all the correspondence between myself and this agent read more
