I took my daughters prom dress here for alterations. I was very uneasy from the first time in the…read moreshop. The woman helping us, really wasn't sure about what she was doing. My daughter has a very large chest (F cup), to say the least she needed the top to fit properly, for support & comfort. The dress needed to be shortened, the sides taken in, straps shortened, and the deep V in the chest sewn closed a little higher (not as much cleavage). We gave them 6 weeks for alterations and it was left until the last minute. She was never told to come back for a fitting or anything. I told her to go in after school the week before to try it on, she was told it wasn't ready, come back on Tuesday (3 days before prom). She is more of a hoodie & tights girl, so to see her face light up when she found her dress, we both had tears. when she picked her dress up, she told me it was good, all she wanted was her dress ready in time. The day of prom I'm helping her get ready & I was disgusted with the way the dress fit. We bought the dress with the wide straps so she could wear a bra for support. They messed the straps up so badly, they wouldn't go up on her shoulders. Instead of pinning both sides, they pinned one side and did the opposite side, with the same amount taken in. Now the dress barely did up, because it was taken in too much. the Woman pinned 2" on the one side to make it fit. However when taking it in, she took 2" on each side (instead of 1" & 1"). I paid $268.00 for alteration, and the dress was in My opinion not wearable, But my daughter did not want to miss prom and waste all of the money spent in the dress, shoes, hair, makeup jewellery, tickets Etc. so she wore it, and said "as long as I don't take deep breaths, I'll be fine." PLEASE ask questions and make sure you both understand each other. I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone.
