Oh to be 3 again! Someone to clean your myriad messes, revel…read morein your crayola creations and to pay for numerous cute outfits and furnishings. Happily for the young-in's a place called My First Room exists, an incredibly detailed and fun little home wares store fit for any designer bebe. Interiors for the modern rug rat have taken an impressively chic turn. A far cry from the Kmart Build-It-Yourself crib kits I was bought up with, children nowadays have the luxury of $2000 see through podbeds, LED mobiles, organic furnishings and sustainably produced linens. (Can you tell I'm a litte bit jealous?) You'll be poring over this detailed store for ages. Huge wall decals, cute sun-hats, designer rugs, bean bags, toys personalised name art, wardrobes, toy chests, high chairs, slippers. money boxes, stationary, ceramics and much much more.. They seriously provide anything and everything you might need to grandly furnish your little ones bedroom. Colour-coordinated, fresh, fun and twee I recommend checking this place out.

This shop is everything a homewares store should be; carefully laid out, full of gorgeous things you can't help but think need a place in your home, and offering a huge variety of items. The only difference is it's more fun, with lots of bright colours and patterns to make your little ones' room more exciting. Take a look if you want to add a splash of colour to your child's room.

What is in the water lately? No, seriously. From friends to family members it seems the, "I'm…read morepregnant!" conversation is being had every other day. And with that comes two eventualities: baby showers and Savvy Aunty duties. Social norms dictate that one must bring gifts to said baby showers and Savvy Aunty duties just mean that you get to buy the things for no reason other than to be the "cool" Aunty. Either way, both of these eventualities lead me to stores like Eeni Meeni Miini Moh. Previously only located on James Street, the Toowong Village renovations have meant there's space for this dedicated kids boutique (from newborn to about 5ish by the look of the clothes on display) to call the Inner-West home. I stopped in recently on a mission for gifts for a friend's upcoming baby shower and was greeted by a range of neatly organised clothes for girls on one side and young gents on the other. In between are shelves of cool trinkets, games and other accessories. It is on the higher price point and certainly not at your Kmart $3 onesie level. That said, for a keepsake gift such as a blanket or for a stylish "spoil your niece/nephew" gift, then here is just where you need to be shopping.
And for the boys

I find shopping for clothes challenging at the best of times not being standard sizing (6ft tall…read moreand ranging from a size 16-22 depending on the cut). I was absolutely delighted with hitting upon the Maternity Super Store when my bump grew to the point where my normal clothes were no longer going to cut it. The sizes range from 8-24 and each rack is bursting with clothes all sorted into size, colour and style. Need work pants, look no further than the pant rack and choose from multiple styles and fabrics in black, grey and navy. Looking for a dress for a wedding or special occasion, they have a massive range in every colour you could dream of. With jeans, shorts, bathers, formal tops, long sleeve tops, underwear, maternity stockings, dresses, pants, t-shirts from beginning of bump to breast feeding you really can't go wrong. The best bit is nothing is over $80 (except maybe a few formal dresses) and I can happily state I didn't pay more than $50 for any each item and walked out with jeans, work pants, dresses and a few jumpers. Given the challenge of finding plus sized maternity wear in Brisbane this is a must visit even if it is a bit of a drive from where you live.

Not sure where the stock comes from, but I certainly didn't see anything suitable for a young (20's) pregnant lady. All quite nana, with a lot of unflattering styles. Sales woman was nice, but quite pushy. Selecting things for me (after a few questions) and having me in a fitting room within 3 minutes of being in the store. Unfortunately I left with nothing and I wouldn't be recommending to others.
