Dr. B is personable, helpful, informative, professional, friendly and always answers all of my questions without making me feel rushed as if I have limited time with her. And the actual exam is the fastest that I've ever experienced. It's over before I know it. Yahoo! The office has their own small lab so they can do blood work and other samples in house. And the staff has always been responsive and friendly in regards to any questions on insurance, billing, prescriptions, etc. Oh and FYI for those of you that are anti children. There may be some in the waiting room and you MAY actually have to speak with a child or give them eye contact. Also if you go to see her you could show up for your appt and have to wait. Since she's not just a GP she is on call. I've made it on time and found out that she was at the hospital delivering twins so she was obviously going to be late to my appt. It doesn't bother me. I take my cell phone and a good murder mystery to kill time. It's only once a year, to me it's worth the wait (which is not every time). And if I don't get the motorized chair I just tell myself that I'm being the bigger person and I should sacrifice it for the ladies who are pregnant and probably actually need it. I am happy with my move to her and look forward to continuing my GYN care with her. 1. Her office staff is friendly-To smooth the first visit I went by a couple days in advance and picked the New Patient paperwork. Once I was back in an exam room a very friendly nurse worked with me to enter a detailed medical history. And I was taken back on time. 2. Dr. Dorsett and I talked some before I changed (I have a feeling that might change as we do established patient appts) and then came back to examine me. 3. Tests needed to be run, one was QUICKLY done in house and a script was called in, the other was sent off with results called back the next day. 4. If I needed supplements (I did) she had them and we are doing a follow up regarding some test results. She is not doing my BioTe pellets (they've been managed for almost 10 years by the office in Southlake that was training doctors--but I was her Guinea pig and I look forward to transferring my hormone care to her soon. 5. Finally, for those interested she has an in house Ideal Protein Leader. I did this diet with another doctor in 2010-11 and was quite successful. It isn't a diet for all, but her office is comprehensive, and the Leader seems supportive and caring. I look forward to working with her as (thanks to other health issues) I'm no longer following a healthy diet at all (!!!) and plan to talk with her again. Dr Dorsett is direct and business like. Don't come in prepared to be pampered. I didn't ask if she still delivers as I'm beyond that stage--however I liked the fact that I could come in with a list of questions, get them done, or get a plan together to move forward. The website is undergoing updates, so CALL. Also, she is open Monday thru Friday and stays pretty busy. I consider that a good thing. I happened to find out that a doctor friend went to school with her and thinks very highly of her. So far I'm thinking highly of her too. The office is located in the bldg attached to the Round Rock Hospital complex (to the immediate right) so you enter at the hospital entrance off of 620 and park in the parking lot to the right. I live nearby and even for me finding the exact location was a bit challenging. Going by early to get my paperwork allowed me to have a trial run getting there. Now I know exactly it is a good location. Note: if something isn't or is found during your preventative appt (outside of normal GYN issues that you want/need to discuss at that point) it does switch to a normal office visit. If that is an issue or you need better explanation of that office policy then call!

First of all it took months to order my replacement IUD, the medical assistant accidentally sent the order to the wrong place? After meeting with Dr Downing I mentioned the negative reviews and my concern and she said they were having issues previously but changed companies and fixed the issue I trusted her and went forward with this office. The doctor and medical assistant both assured me that everything would be covered by my insurance, I even called the company the device was being ordered from to be safe and was told the same. Finally almost 2 months later they finally receive the IUD and Dr Downing isn't even available to insert it and I was seen by a different doctor I'd never met before. At this point, I just went forward with the IUD insertion and that was that. Weeks later, I have received a $1000 bill for the device and am having to call my insurance and the specialty company that provided it. The medical assistants are rude and unhelpful throughout the process, and I feel like the doctor lied to me about fixing this issue with other patients in the first place. avoid this place!!!!!

It makes every doc's visit easy and something you can look forward to knowing that you will be meeting a doctor who truly cares for you. She is very patient explaining things to me, not a confusing medical jargon, but with simple and understandable way. She even printed resources that I can read so I am fully informed. She follows up and always repeat that I can always call anytime if there is an emergency or if I have a pressing question. I am very well pleased with Dr. Laura. What a gem. The clinic is very well clean and pleasant. The sitting area feels like you are just in your living room. The toilet is very clean and smells so fresh. The reception (with An amazing staff) is very efficient and organized. The staffs are friendly and helpful.
