My son came in with a messed up haircut. (Danielle got him in last minute since we were a walk-in) She did make it look better than it was, but it wasn't what I was wanting after the second time. It still looked like a bowl cut in the front after saying three times I wanted a 50s style haircut. Not only that I paid $48 with a tip included for my son that's 12 years old. He literally came out crying and is now very insecure about his hair. When he got to my car there was hair all over his shirt (like a large amount) and his hair wasn't even styled at all. Not gunna lie, I was a little apprehensive/skeptical when i initially saw my new hair color, but since I've been home and had the chance to scrutinize it in privacy after the shock wore off, I absolutely love it. Not only that, but the hair cut and keratin treatment both gave my overall appearance new life, even though the cut was what I typically ask for every time I get it cut! I don't have a "before" photo for reference, but my hair prior was subject to cheap box dyes, malnutrition, and not being cut for almost a year; my natural hair color is a dusty dark brown, and each time I dyed it at home was an attempt at "golden brown." I went in with an idea of the color I wanted, and the Mode team more than delivered. Not only that, but they also tag-teamed processes to help expedite the whole procedure, and explained the differences between certain hair cut styles so I could choose exactly what was right for me. Also also, they consistently asked if I wanted anything (snacks, drinks, a break, etc.) and were super polite and straightforward. AND provided me a "cheat sheet" for the color I received so I can ask for/refer to it in the future at other salons! I almost regret leaving Wichita so soon (I was only here for school) because I feel like this was the first legit salon experience I've had in 33 years. I was in Wichita Falls for one day for work, but in desperate need of a haircut. Danielle was able to fit me in. Danielle gave me a great shampoo then while I was conditioning, I received lotion and a hot towel treatment on my hands along with a relaxing scalp massage! I showed Danielle several pictures of the hair style I was going for. My hair was past the middle of my back and I wanted it cut up to the collarbone. Danielle wasn't phased. She actually cut it a little longer then checked with me before cutting anymore off. When it was time to dry and style, another stylist came over and both of them got my hair dried. Despite it being very late in her work day, Danielle then took her time curling and styling my hair. She remained upbeat and friendly through my whole appointment. I am very very picky about my hair, and have had a hard time finding a salon I trust since coming to Texas, but I feel like I found an awesome salon with Mode Hair Utopia. I loved Danielle- she did exactly what I wanted and I could tell she understood my hair type and how to cut it! She also curled my hair after blowing it out, which turned out beautiful and was really a nice touch. The pricing is great- I paid $38 for a haircut, and bought two products (which I never do, but here they had very reasonable prices). Drove all the way from Altus, OK because of all the great reviews for this place (and lack of options in Altus). So glad I wasn't disappointed! Annette did my hair and she was great! I only had highlights done and was pampered the whole time. Scalp massage and warm hand wrap plus whatever you would like to drink. They even offer wine and beer. The whole staff was really great. I was very impressed to see how much they helped each other out. It's not uncommon to have a different person (not yet cosmetic board certified) to wash your hair out after color but the staff was going way above and beyond to help each other out. I had at least 3 people check how my color was coming along and I had a 2-person blow job (get your mind out of the gutter). Seriously, 2 people blow dried my hair at the same time and when one had to walk away for a new client, another staff member stepped in to take her place! He trimmed my split ends and made my hair look very pretty. The second time, I had a short, blonde woman who was also nice and had me stand to cut my long hair. The third time, I had a stylist named Bianca who was a great conversationalist and an amazing stylist. I denied the hand treatment so I can't say much about that, but it's nice it's offered. I've never been to this salon before but I wanted to try something new. I checked on here for the reviews and even though it didn't have a lot of reviews, I figure since they were all good reviews I'd test it out. It was my mother's birthday last week and I wanted to get her hair done. Sent my sister to take her there and the lady that she got just basically welcomed her with an "I don't care" attitude and acted like she was being disturbed. Requested for a somber look and even had a picture to show her to follow. The results received was basically just a highlight top off from the original highlights my mother already had. So same look, just rehighlighted the top half of her hair which was NOT what we requested. Then on top of that we were charged $130. I live in Vegas and even Vegas doesn't charge that much and If I was I'd be damn sure that I'd get exactly what I wanted instead of a lazy service. With that I was left discontented and pissed off not only with the attitude from this place but also from the service they provided in addition to the price. The woman at the front was great - really friendly and understanding, and scheduled me right away for a cut with Tommy. Tommy was just awesome! He took the time to figure out exactly what I wanted and what would/would not be possible given the damage done at Marsa's. His clear passion for hairdressing came out not only in his conversation (e.g. giving tips on how to keep my hair healthy and why certain cutting techniques worked) but also in the results; my cut was exactly what I wanted! Waited until the last minute to decide to get my hair styled for an important event so I called and they were super nice. I got there 20 minutes early and expected to wait but they started right away and I even got a complimentary drink! With my shampoo, I got a scalp/neck massage and a hand softening treatment. Then Victoria styled my hair in an updo. She worked really hard to give me exactly what I wanted, a bun with two braids on the sides. I'm only in town for training and Got my hair done here yesterday and I am sooooo happy Victoria knew exactly how I wanted my cut to be. I previously had my hair grown to my lower back and wanted a dramatic a-line concave bob. Brought my girlfriend down here and the staff were extremely nice and helpful. Upon getting her hair dyed, the staff working on my girlfriend recommended a different shade at no charge cause it will look nicer. Drinks were offered and conversations were light and fun. I was so happy they were able to get me in on the same day, it was awesome! A super sweet girl named Becca (I believe) cut my hair and did a great job. I have really thick hair and it's naturally curly/wavy so it was a hot mess and I left feeling polished and sleek. Their prices are average and the set up is nice. Went here awhile back and was thoroughly disappointed. The stylist, Malaika, convinced me to do blue highlights in my dark hair instead of an overall color. It took 4 hours for a highlight, cut and style! Now, I'm a patient person, but 4 hours is ridiculous. If that was not bad enough, the color did not turn out how we wanted and I was nice enough to be flexible and tried something else. My hair looked "okay" leaving, but two weeks later the orange/broze color faded from highlight and I was left with dark hair mottled with random straw like strands. I will not return here and do not recommend this place or stylist. read more
