What an improvement in the merchandising and customer service in this store under the new ownership! Had I written a review based on my 2015 experience here you would have found me in the 1 star camp. I went back in today only because I was at another store nearby and figured "why not". I didn't know the ownership had changed here before I went in but it was evident from the moment I stepped inside that things had taken a turn for the better. I haven't purchased from them so this rating is simply reflecting my enthusiasm for the good changes here. The greeting was "welcome to the store" from across the room, as the friendly staff person approached, asked if we'd been in before and what brought us in today. She made suggestions on things we might look at and could answer the questions we had. The improved store layout allows ample space to browse through the vignettes in each of the rooms to be able to see everything. We noticed how well staged and sparkling clean were the displays now with more up to date look as compared to our eighteen months prior experience. They didn't have the kind of things we were searching for and we typically are looking for a higher quality and price point product line in case goods and upholstered furnishings. So in the mode of "it's not you, it's me", this isn't a store I'm likely to visit often. But having said "never again" after our 2015 experience with service and layout, I find myself recommending someone might go take a look here. Noting the negative reviews from in the time period leading up to mid 2016, both on this Yelp page and behind the Yelp filter, you might date sort and notice the reviews written more recently are good ones. Perhaps that's the new ownership influence being noticed. . If you go in, here are a couple of TIPS: a. If you're looking for large scale, mass produced art work they have some that is among the more interesting and "non mass produced looking" of any we've seen in the area at some of the best price points. We're not in the market but if you are...worth a check in! b. They have a modest assortment of some interesting looking, synthetic fiber area rugs hanging on a vertical display that makes them easy to see. They can order them in multiple sizes and the price point for the quality is darned good. We're not in the market but if you are...worth a check in! c. The furnishings in store displays are the tip of the iceberg for what they have available in catalogs and manufacturer references and the staff would be happy to help you select what you need and order for you. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: Private lot for this strip mall location: 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Much improved inside under this new owner who has ample floor space clearance in almost all displays to meet ADA minimums. Parking in the strip mall lot still fails to meet the minimums of Federal ADA law and Idaho Accessibility Building Code (both in place for 26 years) but that is the mall owner's issue, not this store owner's. read more

It was a custom order, made in the USA and delivered back to us in 4 weeks. Awesome turnaround on delivery. I am new to the area and had just purchased a new construction home and wanted to replace most of my current furniture. I looked at the website which had mostly pictures without details or price. Being that we are new to the area and trying to get settled in, we didn't want to spend a lot running from store to store when we could view things from home and narrow down our selections. When I called the store I explained our situation to the Lady who answered the phone. (I didn't catch her name) She was gruff in her speaking and seemed like she had better things to do than help potential customers. I stayed cordial and continued answering my questions. She kept saying you have to come in the store (Not if it's a waste of time we don't). When I was hanging up the phone I heard her say in a loud voice "Oh my God!" Well congratulations! You just lost a Customer! We went to America the Dreamer and was treated with respect, courtesy, and unbelievable help. We talked with one of the Owners for at least an hour past Closing and it was mostly not about Furniture but the area and other social matters. This is the kind of people I expected to find and have found in Idaho except for the Lady at this store! When you feel you are better than your Customers, you will soon find out you don't have any! read more

Such a perfect collection of furniture to tickle anyone's fancy. The staff and owner were professional and extremely helpful. Found my sectional on the floor immediately, and even though my bank had some issues with daily spending limits, the owner was super understanding and patient and made it work without issue. Love the fact that you can buy just about any style of furniture at a reasonable price and you know you are getting good quality pieces that won't fall apart in 6 months. We ordered a rug back in January to be delivered with an eta of 6 weeks. Fast forward 6 weeks and no word from this store and I had to call to get an update to be told it would arrive in April or May. Fast forward a another month and I call for an update to be told someone would look in to it more and return my call as anticipated delivery was now May 29. No call returned. This Monday I discussed going direct to Ashley Furniture to get the rug and ask for a refund. It's 4 days later and Ashley Furniture has delivered my rug to McCall free shipping. Notified the store to get a refund and inform them that I had hoped to use them for additional needs for a new build but have since changed my mind since I can go direct and get items faster. I understand that covid has really done a damper to delivery of items but a bit of customer service would have gone a long way. read more

They have everything from everything and it's quite organized if that's your style. Great selection but customer service is not very good. I just ordered a rug I liked and was told it would take a couple weeks. It took much longer and when I called to follow up I was made to feel I was bothering them. I had to beg for logistic info which I know is available. I did finally pick up the rug and when I went it to get it I was treated poorly, basically ignored and told to pick it up in back. I have so much to do with our new house but will not be purchasing big ticket items here based on this experience. read more

I purchased a sofa here, they do not scotch guard anything and their policy is All Sales Final, when they delivered my off white sofa it had several dirty hand prints on it from the two guys that delivered it. I love this store. The furniture and decor items are charmingly placed, and the items there are affordably priced. I like that they have an extra showroom in the back with clearance and discounted items. It's fun to visit and see what's new. The staff has always been very nice to me, even when I once had to return a faulty clock for a working one. And they're nice to my kids when I bring them, which can't always be said for furniture/interior design stores. read more

I was VERY happy with the quality and the prices for what I bought . I purchased a full formal dining set that seats 8 and the buffet for less than $2,000 and...... It was solid wood! Much better value than RC Willey. We did have to assemble the chairs but it was worth it for the huge savings. The owner Todd is very accommodating and customer friendly. read more

Ok the in store experience is great, the staff is friendly, quality is good and prices are great. However their delivery service and accuracy is atrocious. This is based on my experience and two other families we know. They said 10-14 days for delivery. We are on day 35 and we have 1/6 of our order. We have called several times, mostly at their direction to check back, and get vague answers and poor response time. Our friends have received several pieces in the wrong color compared to what they ordered, at the 30 day mark, and they now have to start the cycle all over. They too were told 10-14 days at purchase. Sad because I want to like them based on their uniqueness and quality but the continued disappointment is overbearing. read more

Service was offensive on many levels. The sales rep gushed profusely to get me in the door and he won my trust. After that I can only say it has been nothing but poor service. A partial order arrived with a broken love seat. Since delivery of the broken love seat in mid-July we have been given the run around, (and not politely I might add), with delivery being promised every 8 - 10 days and still we have not received a replacement or the sofa we ordered and were promised. It is also important to say that no update was ever offered from their side. Like many of the people in this thread, I had to always call for an update. I eventually drove the 45 minutes from my home to the store because there was just no progress via telephone. The update promises never materialized and to add insult to injury the male sales rep was obnoxious and decidedly unhelpful. He even threatened to call the police to remove me because I asked to give my details to another member of staff so that the ailing manager could call me when she returned to work. I would strongly urge anyone considering going to Model Home furnishing not to be duped by the pre sales fanfare like I was. Having minimal furniture in my sitting room for almost two months is not what I expect on any level! I asked for our money to be returned on the items that have not been delivered and the male sales rep stated categorically that they would not do so. I was instructed to simply wait and was told that there was no definite date of delivery and there was nothing they could do about that and that it was a common occurrence with Ashley Furniture. Things happen and I am flexible but the manner in which I have been treated is simply not acceptable and my parting comment is to the manager of the male sales rep who said to me in a very sarcastic manner, "Oh yes, and the customer is always right", please invest in your staff member because he really does not have a clue about the truth behind that statement. read more

This store has great pricing and a big selection, if you don't mind ordering out of a catalog, site unseen. However, when I placed an order, I was told it would be here in 2 weeks. Then, after 2 weeks, I had to call them to find out the things I had ordered where now out of stock...leading me to think they had forgotten to order them in the first place. Then, they called back to tell me they found a place that still had them and were going to get those, but it could be a few weeks. Then...yes...another call to tell me they couldn't get them. After 2 months of this round and round, I told them to forget about it. I found the same product at a different local store, bought it and brought it home the same day! I paid more, but there was no run around. If you want to save money and can wait an unspecified amount of time for your merchandise, this is the store for you. read more

I like the way the items are displayed and the attention to keeping the prices affordable. I also liked that when I found an item that was "close" to what I wanted, the sales associate looked through the manufacturers catalog and found the item we were looking for. We need to purchase an entire house worth of furniture since we just moved here and are building our home. We went in after looking on the website and finding a few items we liked. The sales associate acted like we were a bother because we wanted prices on the items off their website. She even told me I needed item numbers when I showed her the pictures from their website. She said she was very busy and could only give us a few prices. Forget it...we will look somewhere else and take our money where they actually want to help us. This wonderful company has TWICE donated furniture to Wish Granters, an organization granting wishes for terminally ill adults. They get nothing in return, just helping out someone who knows their time on earth is limited and needs a recliner, a couch, or a front-room set of furniture. I really respect a company that has empathy like this, and figure if they'll do something nice like this for someone they don't know, they'll most like treat a paying customer right also. read more

We purchased a $240 chair a year and a half ago from Model Home Furnishings for our piano room. It was mainly used for decoration as no one ever sat in it. Last Christmas at our family party my Nephew needed a quiet place to get his son to sleep. As they sat down in the chair one the front legs immediately gave way and tumbled them to the floor. I was mortified, my nephew was mortified that he had broken the chair (he only weighs about 170 and his son was just 18 months old). My father tried to fix the chair and as he opened it up we saw that the legs are screwed into a frame made out cheap ply wood less than a half an inch thick. My father screwed the leg onto a more substantial piece of wood and then attached that to the existing frame. The chair was placed back in its spot in the piano room unused again until 2 days ago when my 9 year old son (75 lbs) fell back into it and the screws my father had secured it with pulled out of the cheap frame. We loaded the chair into our truck and took it back to the store. We knew we were out of warranty but wanted to show the store how poorly it was made. The woman on the show room floor told us we needed to talk to the warranty manager and went in the back to get him. She came back out a few minutes later and said he was gone, probably at the warehouse. She told us to take the chair home, take pictures and email them to him. My husband asked if she could please call him and let him know there were customers waiting to talk to him. She went back and 30 seconds later he walked toward us, no handshake or introduction he just stared at us. We took him to our truck and my husband tried to explain what happened but he didn't want to hear it. He just kept saying "your out of warranty", which we knew and told him so. We said that we wanted them to see the chair and give the manufacturer some feedback on their workmanship, or lack thereof. Last thing he said to us was that the manufacturer makes good furniture. He then walked away, with the chair. We told him that we would be writing a review about our experience and he said, "I'm sure you will". Buyer beware! We went expecting a reasonable interaction. That definitely didn't happen. They were rude and condescending. But hey, if you want to be treated poorly by people in "customer service" positions, then this is the place for you! read more

Will not go back again. The staff is actually very friendly when shopping for furniture, however we have had a terrible experience while dealing with damaged furniture. First of all we waited several months to receive our couch, and then it ended up getting delivered with holes in it. We processed a return via warranty the beginning of October, and were told that we would receive a new couch in 10-14 days. We still have not heard a word from Model Home Furnishings in regards to our new couch. We have tried to contact them several times, and each time we cannot get in touch with Ronnie. So disappointed in the lack of communication. If only Model Home Furnishings realized how effective communication can be. Told this story to family and friends also, and they will not be returning to shop here either. Word spreads quickly about poor customer service. read more

My husband and I ordered two chairs and a table for our den. They were very helpful at the store when we ordered the furniture. However, the table came damaged and that is where the helpful service stopped. We have made five attempts to contact someone about replacing the table. One person told me to email or text Ronnie. One person said they couldn't help me and we have yet to hear back from Ronnie. We had a great experience buying from this store. Excellent customer service, and good value for the quality. We bought love seat, chairs, and three tables which we are enjoying very much in our home. It is true that the furniture is not returnable simply because you do not like it when it is delivered to your home. We looked at the furniture in another store before we ordered the pieces we wanted from Model Home's catalogs, so we had seen them first hand, and had sat on them to test their comfort and sturdiness, then ordered the pieces from Model Home Furnishings, happy with the choices and the lower prices they can provide because of their business model. We were told about their return policy when we purchased. BUT, if there is a defect in the furniture item, it is taken care of speedily and cheerfully with return and exchange. One of the tables we bought had a manufacturing flaw in it (cosmetic, not structural) and management made the replacement without any conflict. We are very pleased and will order again from Model Home Furnishings. read more
