The real joy was the country store that Heather Burke has put together. Everything is so tastefully assembled, homemade, and delicious. They have home brewed beer (and lots of craft selections) fresh baked cakes and pastries (including gluten free), sandwiches, salads, ice cream and a super quaint gift store. We sat in the luncheon area inside, but there were picnic tables outside as well. We missed the bluegrass festival but if we can we'd love to make the Octoberfest. I highly recommend this place for those looking for a farm to table meal, good beer, or tasteful country store excursion.

Captain Brad has years of experience and it shows. He took us out in early March before the fishing is at its peak. We had a very fruitful day of fishing. Using his knowledge of the area he took us to multiple fishing spots that lit up his electronic fish finder. We were a group of five and we all were seeing constant action. We were staying at a house on the canal in Holden Beach so he picked us up on our dock. His fishing charters usually set sail out of Shallotte, North Carolina. They take you to where the bite is hot. You may end up exploring the nearby fishing grounds of Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Sunset Beach, Oak Island, Myrtle Beach, Bird Island, and many other popular locations around the shores of North Carolina and South Carolina. They offer Inshore & Offshore Fishing Charters, Sandbar Excursions and Scenic Tours ranging from 4-12 hours in length covering the nearshore and offshore waters of the Carolinas. They provided the rods, reels, tackle, lures, bait, bottled water and a fishing license. After our trip he returned us to our dock. There, he cleaned all of our fish and placed then into a plastic bag.(We made fish tacos later) The trip was totally guided from start to end. I recommend this fishing charter to anyone considering a fishing trip. I have taken many other fishing trips with guides and this trip was one of the best!
