This review is a long time coming…read more In 2016, we were dreaming of our first home, we worked with an agent and our offers always came in 2nd. We finally got an offer accepted, but it fell through because I was changing jobs. We were heart broken and had some tax issues so we stopped looking for awhile. In 2019, my husband lost his job. We were struggling to make ends meet because I was the only one that was working. Fast forward to 2020, we had lost my grandfather and my father in law. Things were looking bleak. We were both deeply depressed. However, our dream of being homeowners never wavered. I had worked with two agents by now and decided to shop around for another agent. I came across Kam Wade and Darren Wade who helped my dear, departed friend, Lydia, buy her first home. I literally stalked Kam's social media and read every one of her success stories. I wanted to be part of that. Kam is a straight shooter. She tells it like it is. She said come back with a pre approval before I can show you a home. We worked on our credit and came back a few months later. She referred us to a few lenders, but I was able to find my own. We were pre-approved for 5 thousand dollars less than before because of my husband being unemployed for a year. When we were looking in 2016, we were being picky about certain locations and things. We knew we needed to take a few steps back and humble ourselves. We walked through a house that was small and needed work. $10,000 less than our loan approval. I had been watching the market everyday so I knew I had to put an offer in at the full amount we were approved for. Kam said not to fall in love with it too much in case it gets rejected. Kam put in an offer for us right away. We wrote a personal letter. Kam called us a week later as we were coming home from Dinuba to let us know our very first offer we put in on the first house we looked at with her was accepted. It was later in the evening, we were driving north on Clovis, right before Jensen. I personally think that her befriending the selling agent and a little sweet talk got our offer accepted. We were able to close in a little over a month and became homeowners in October of 2020, right before the market went crazy in 2021. She also gifted us oue home sweet home wooden sign that I have hanging above our entertainment center so we have a little bit of the Wades in our home. Our house isn't anything fancy, it's a charming, small tower district home, but it is ours and we've built some equity on it. Even though our house was one of the houses that costed less money than a lot of the houses that they've sold, Kam and Darren doesn't treat us any differently. They still send us invites to client appreciation events. Every year, they do a client appreciation event at Wild Waters, they do tacos for Cinco de Mayo, they give out pumpkins and have trunk or treats, they give out large pies every Thanksgiving and have this awesome and delicious charcuterie table laid out with lots of wine at the event. They also give lots of advice about building generational wealth and buying and investing on different platforms. I look up to them immensely. It's not just about them being generous with things, it's the fact that they care. They also contribute to different charities in Fresno. I am not ready to sell and buy yet because my house still needs some work, but when I do and when i am ready to invest in a rental property which is also a dream, Strive will be our forever realtors.
