After finding out the news about the cosmetology place not doing haircuts anymore we were directed down the street to this establishment. It was a great experience for the both of us as we had a really simple request for a haircut. My husband and I had Derrin as our stylist. He was patient with the both of us, very personable and friendly. 2 Haircuts $16 plus $8 tip (4 from each of us) for the barber. Overall it was great and we were out the door in about 20 minutes for the both of us. Now that we know where to go for haircuts it's going to be a repeat visit for the both of us. I got the same guy twice, first time I asked for burst fade .. which is similar to Mohawk and he gave me mid fade.. 2nd, time worse then the first.. gave me many cut/burn marks.. told him I wanted to grow the areas above the fade but took them down anyways. I think I'll go see a professional from now on :/ read more

Was getting something at Alma's nextdoor when we were greeted by a woman coming out of the shop...at first I thought maybe we weren't supposed to be parked on the street in front, but nope...she was just being friendly and my young son started chatting it up with her. We learned that she's "Ms T." the instructor here, and we just appreciated her overall vibe...it's important for my son to feel comfortable when getting a cut...her students also came out front and you can tell this environment is one of teamwork. Moler is walk in service. Arrived at 3pm, walk through the door without greeting. Everyone was horsing around. Cutting friends hair & whatnot. It took like 45 or longer for someone willing to cut my hair. Finally sat down, I asked for a fade... he was doing well but in 50 min he didn't get far. He kept pushing his hand on my head like it was a tether ball. The clippers kept hitting my head and got really uncomfortable. The main instructor or manager she was taking selfies w class mates, lack feedback or supervision to students and just straight up left for the day. It was like a playground or zoo! I understand this isn't a salon but if this is lack of knowledge and service than ultimately the establishment has failed because if or when they pass the board exam.... this is the knowledge the students are taking into the real world. Absolutely disappointed w Moler as teaching school. Corp needs to roll those cameras and look at their vision statement because it was an absolute disappointment and I couldn't recommend anyone to go to school here nor word to mouth recommendations. read more

Great experience. Ms Tracy greeted me @ door & asked what I wanted done. I was handed off to "Big John." He was the nicest guy & I enjoyed talking to him. He graduates in March 2018, has plans for his own shop, buying a house, etc. Former Scrabble champion! Facility was not busy and was very cheap. Get a Groupon & it's even less! The students there are very conscientious, so please increase the foot traffic there so they can perfect their craft. Spread the word!!!! read more

Great service! I recently moved to Hayward and was looking for a new barber in the area. I decided to stop by here and right when I walked in I felt welcome. Its not easy trusting anyone new with your hair let alone a student barber. I believe it was Ms. Tracy who was the teacher that accommodated me along side with Nuni (I believe thats how you spell his name). He was very eager to learn and took constructive criticism very well. A little rough around fading but overall experience was great. He definitely has the drive and the patience to pursue a career to become a professional barber. I wouldn't mind coming back. read more

Yesterday was my 5th trip. I drive over from San Mateo. This was the best experience so far. As I have grown older my hair has grown thinner. Nowadays I like my head shaved. Nobody but Moler seems to get it. The staff and students are always friendly and accommodating, there is always plenty of parking and it is in a great convenient location. A head shave cost 6 bucks -- can't beat it. Isaac did an outstanding job. The only negative would be that they don't accept cards and I always have to go find an ATM. Card processors/banks charge a few cents out of every dollar. Minimally Moler could install an ATM. But this is where to go. Ten stars. read more

Pretty chill place. Nice people, the instructor is very knowledgeable. Sammie cut and faded my hair, did a very good job. Definitely recommend her to anyone! Only thing I want to point out, that I wouldn't even consider as a negative thing but could be improved upon, is the lighting. The students are having to hold their hands or foam over heads to hide shadows in order to see the cut properly. If they had help investing in better lighting, this would be much easier for the students to focus on cutting and clipping properly! Aside from this, I'm still very happy with my new style. This place was so unprofessional. I called to speak with admissions for information regarding class schedules and tuition for the Santa Clara location, which I had already research Moler and was aware of the two locations they had. What I got was a guy who called me and began by asking me questions like where I lived. His response to my location was "Ok we are going to have a location issue." Not once did he explain to me who he was, which was nobody because he was just going to pass my number onto someone in admissions to the school he felt was closer to me. If this is the run around they give me as a customer, can you imagine how they will treat you once they get your money. Go elsewhere, this place is a joke! read more

Really professional environment, Ms. T ( instructor ) was very charming and helpful. TAY gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had.

Their business model is simple. They attract customers to the store for the training. So when you make the purchase, you should be aware of that. This means their quality differs greatly between students. I would suggest to bring another person for supervision. My wife goes there with me and give suggestions to students there and they can perform pretty well. Just remember they are not professional barbers, yet. Give them some directions and real time corrections, then you expect a reasonable haircut. read more

I decided that I wanted to do the big chop. Huge mistake on my part thinking I could do it myself. So I decided to go to Mohler's to see if they could fix the damage that I did. I went and explained my situation and they were so awesome and accommodating. The instructor set me up with RJ and he corrected the damage, and just made me so excited about my new haircut. And the prices are amazing, and the students are given thorough instructions by the instructor so the job is always well done. I will definitely be going back for monthly touch ups. read more
