She finds the spots in my body that are tight or tense without me even having to tell her. And she's so kind, present, and passionate about what she does. You can tell that she really cares about her clients and she wants to make sure you are comfortable. I can't recommend her highly enough. I also did the 6 week hypnotherapy series with Robert and it was a game changer for me. I was previously experiencing a lot of anxiety, frustration, and stress. It became obvious to me that something needed to change and I've previously tried different method of healing (therapy, journaling, meditation, etc) so why not give hypnotherapy a shot. Robert helped me to learn that relaxation is our natural state and how to help myself calm down if I am feeling overwhelmed. He helped me realize that I can change. Honestly I'm a more present parent and I feel happier and healthier overall.

I went back recently after visiting many other types of religious organizations and wanted to offer my thoughts. Disclaimer: Metaphysical New Thought stuff doesn't personally appeal much to me, but that has no bearing on my review. The music was great and the sanctuary space is beautiful! The speaker gave a wonderful talk that I felt like would resonate with people of many backgrounds! It was a little bit sleepy, but maybe that's just because I went during the 9am service. The congregants may not have the same outward enthusiasm as some of the practitioners at many Christian churches, but that was okay, it was a service about peace after all. My main critique comes from the system of classes they have. It was frustrating to me, as someone coming from the UU church for the past year, the way that everyone is encouraged to take classes that can cost up to a few hundred dollars just to be a part of what is essentially a spiritual book club. That gave it almost a pyramid scheme feeling as congregants spend hundreds to become prayer practitioners (people who can pray for you or help you pray) and experts in new thought philosophy or in a combination of other religious ideas, especially from Eastern religions. Most churches have bible studies or other book groups, and fellowship opportunities open to any members, but it seems that here they're either one-on-one meetings with staff members or paid opportunities-- which may only be waived if you have the intention on becoming a staff member. Great little spot, but I'm not sure it would facilitate the same level of comradery and friendship among members as other spiritualist communities.

A spiritual group is like a friendship or marriage - please check for compatibility as you date and get to know people better. This group mixes psychology and spirituality and professional identity in a way that is helpful for many partipants. It can be playful and creative. But if you are struggling with deeper and more complex issues in your life, please seek a professional therapist who specializes in whatever your issue is. At PZI, what you share of your personal questions and issues may be responded to in a way that is experimental and not always bound by confidentiality. Be careful re: what you share about family and work. People with their own strong practices and who believe in positive thinking seem to be able to learn here. People who are psychologists and spiritual teachers and and coaches whose profession is intertwined with their spirituality seem to do well here. People who struggle with anxiety, depression, identity, boundary questions and needs etc. may be expected to change or overcome themselves in ways that aren't realistic or necessary. Please try very hard to accept your imperfect self and ask yourself exactly what your motivation is when you start a relationship with a spiritual teacher. Respect your own emotional landscape and boundaries.. What is it you think you will learn/obtain from the teacher? Try to evaluate what they suggest and determine whether it will help you. Do not follow blindly. Quietly and respectfully ignore what is not helpful. Ask yourself how you would feel if your deepest struggles and longings were shared with various people beyond the teacher and if there were other participants in the Zoom room who were not visible. Please do not idealize spiritual teachers and do not replace your own higher power, spiritual center, judgment or god-concept with them. Enjoy the friends you make. Use caution witb people who set off red flags as in the rest of life. Be respectful and have boundaries. I have seen people flourish here and I have seen people suffer unnecessarily. Pay attention.

After spending so much time in the gym and constantly hurting myself in one way or another ( I was trying too hard ), I realized that I needed to change my approach. During one of my doctor visits, I was even recommended to give hot yoga a try. I'm not gonna lie, I still remember my first time here, and it was shocking. It felt hot, difficult, and even a little scary! But the more classes I took, the more I fell in love with it. Hot yoga made me feel stronger and more confident in myself without having to push "too hard". I was in the best shape of my life, and inside I felt better than ever. I also want to say a huge thank you to Larry Tomlinson. He was simply the best! He always made sure you were in the correct position without being pushy. He reassured all the people taking their first five classes that it was ok to take it easy and reminded us that we could step outside at any moment if needed. Unfortunately, I was in a car accident, so I can't take classes right now, but I can not wait to come back! I would recommend Energize to anyone.
