I came here for an early dinner with friends. We shared a few small plates and one large along with cocktails. Service was friendly but the bartender was slow. We enjoyed our drinks, they have a well rounded cocktail menu. Pisco is on! Prices are about average. Ambiance was classier than I was expecting. Nice decor and lighting. Womens toilets can use a good cleaning. As for food, presentation was great. We sampled the prawn scampi, fish and chips, grilled green vegetables, and chips with dip. I didn't prefer their two types of dip, would be better with a spicy red salsa or guacamole. Overall the meal was delicious. read more

The food had a mix of japanese and fusion which was interesting but tasty. Loved the chicken terriyaki and quinoa, a nice healthy alternative. At the beginning the drinks delivery was quite slow had to wait about 10/15 mins for my drinks. Food came out quite quickly though which was good. All the food was tapas for us to share between 2/3 people. The atmosphere at the beginning was quite loud as there was a few groups of girls outside and near the bar shouting/talking quite loudly so spoiled the atmosphere a bit. The cocktails were tasty and had a good happy hour deal for 2 for £12. The waiter that came out was quite attentive and if we needed anything he would go and get it straight away. Went for a double date with friends and had a fab time. We had the prawns, ceviche, chirashi, and tuna tartare for starter, then I had the pork belly bites for main. All the starters were great -- fresh and flavourful, although the waiter took our order wrong and served chirashi instead of chicken wings. My main was slightly disappointing though. Whilst the portions and the presentation were nice, the pork felt a bit dry and underwhelming. Service was good. Our waiter was generally prompt and friendly, and apologetic about our starter. Ambience was nice. Obviously very hip being in Clapham, but it wasn't too loud or crowded that we could still hold a decent conversation. read more

Just went to have the Bespoke Party Brunching menu and unfortunately it left me and my party unimpressed. If you go here I suggest you don't get it. It sounds like you're getting a lot of food. A Raw Bar and A Brunch Kitchen servings. What can however was a sharing portion of the Raw Bar (where you have to dip your fork into the sharing bowl across a large table) and a small portion of the Brunch Kitchen (with it's allocated 5 fries & 2 fatty bacon strips). We hadn't finished the first course when they dumped our luke warm second course on the table. They even tried to take my half drunk late away. 3 of my party ordered the bottomless fizz. There was a timer of 1.5hrs bit the glasses were not filled up in the first 30 mins. Overall a disappointing meal which should have been amazing. read more

This restaurant is definitely one of our favourites in south London! We will either go for cocktails or a dinner after work during the week since we live close. It is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in clapham and I would highly recommend it to those that like to try something different. Last time we tried the set menu which successfully engaged different flavours, colours and textures together! If remember well they do offers such as cinema tickets and dinner for a very good price, but however visit their website or give them a call before! The staff is generally very friendly and excited although not all times. One of the times we were visiting one of the bartenders had a bit of an attitude trying to force us to order more cocktails or force his suggestion from the menu. We didn't like that! Also, the same person made a comment about us leaving a tip and since we always do we found that unnecessary! We hadn't even paid yet..! Nevertheless in general everyone has been friendly and kind, I would happily go back soon! read more

Oh snap... it's the five star review yall!! SO. Kids of Saf Landan. Sit down. Get ready. Took the betches out to MOMMI last night and it was so much better than we could have hoped for that we basically almost never left. To put this review into perspective, my crew is so snazzy, one of the ladies at the table once sent a dish back at Dinner by Heston. There ya go. Boom. We ordered 2 Macchu Picchu,2 Andean and 2 Fuji set menus, and there was NOT a single thing that wasn't a ten. Like, that doesnt happen. It was like going out to a party where every single guy was Chris Hemsworth or Zac Efron. And then you turn and bam, in comes Jesse Williams and you're like ... yeah, I'm wearing the good undies tonight, we good. Also, our waiter Alberto could have sat me on his lap and given me a seeing to at ANY moment, but I behaved. He did make us some pretty swanky cocktails though, so props. BUT, back to the food. All of the raw fish was cut thick and seasoned perfectly, the meats were all tender, fall of the bone, completely different in flavour from one another, the cassava chips got us fucked up on carbs like you wouldnt believe and the atmosphere was fun, low lit, great live music, good crew... Went to Mommi for dinner. Loved the bright decor and comfy corner sofa we were seated on. Started with a 'chicha' cocktail - honestly my new favourite. Vodka, yuzu, pomegranate and orgeat - Comes topped with a cucumber and elderflower foam which was tasty in its own right. The food is split into the raw bar, grill and hot plates and the small plates come out in that order. Everything we ordered was delicious - really well flavoured, nice presentation. There aren't loads of vegetarian options but were enough for me to choose from. My friend also very much enjoyed her sea bass and tuna. Service was quick and friendly. Nice touch of worry dolls with the bill! Would definitely return. read more

I found Mommi an under-stated, interesting and quietly confident restaurant minutes from Clapham Common offering Japanese-Peruvian food, something I've never come across before. I enjoyed a brunch of belly pork, toasted tomato bread, purple potato pancake, soft onions, butternut squash and tomatoes with roasted mushrooms and spiced beans. I was also overly delighted to drink their fresh sugarcane juice which reminded me of my childhood. The brunch menu also allows the ordering of sashimi and other raw fish dishes, we tried the mixed fish with rice and it was delightful. The main menu offers seriously interesting grilled meats, raw fish and a great potential atmosphere with an open kitchen and a casual-cool vibe. Can't wait to return. read more

Whilst you may be impressed with the fixtures and fittings on offer, the food is not compromised in the slightest. Great selection of Japanese Fusion dishes on offer which are very well priced and are delivered in healthy portions. Large focus on allergies including many gluten free dishes, which again does not comprise what the food on offer. The cassava fries are to die for which are beautifully covered in a coriander sauce. Cold dishes too including the sushi and ceviche are full of flavour and offers a great selection of healthy dishes if you're watching what you eat. read more

Typical hipster place bragging about appearances but unable to deliver. Yet, they don't seem to care hence the hipster attribute used. Music is so loud, you feel you're in a club rather than a restaurant. Service is soooo crap. You wait for your drinks for 15 minutes, you wait for your food as well. They take forever to bring the next dishes and don't even bother changing your plates. Yet they charge 12.5% service charge even though it's mentioned nowhere on the menu. I got of it still hungry still with a very hefty bill of over £100. Will never go there again. Too superficial. read more

The girls and I headed out for our monthly bloggers brunch club. After seeing newly opened restaurant Mommi in the Timeout Mag, I thought it was a perfect excuse to head out to clapham for a change. With a beautifully sunny day, we made the most of sitting outside - Tip - which makes for better lighting for photos. Mommi is very chic. Their menu follows suit where Japan meets Latin America. We came for brunch however but their main menu of sharing plates also look delish. Something new I tried was the fresh pressed sugar cane raw juice. Now obviously at £3.5 a glass its probably a bit more than you would pay for overseas, but hey this is London. Choosing to be different and having the ginger and yuzu, it was refreshing. Most of the dishes are designed for individual portions, however when you want to try a bit of everything then its also not difficult to share either. The frittata was nice, however I didn't think there was anything that shouted out special. Maybe the yuzu soy mushrooms need a flavour boost. The ceviche was great, fresh and well balanced in flavours. The confit duck dish had a few hits and misses. The egg was perfectly cooked along with the duck, however we found the plantain on this and both the pancakes were severely undercooked and dry. It was not exactly soft enough to eat. This is a real shame, as I am quite a fan of this fruit. We all loved the pancakes. I would without a doubt reorder them. The touch of toasted almonds and the crispy quinoa brings it a deliciously crunchy texture. Overall, Mommi is a great concept. I just think with a tad few changes the brunch can be on a whole another level. The dishes served were all beautifully presented and a great portion size for the price. We were also very kindly treated a glass of bubbles on the side. Went here for a long overdue catch-up with a friend. Went straight after work, so got there in time for the Chef's Special set-menu (£15 each until 6:30), and really enjoyed it. The food was really good, looks pretty and there was a wide variety. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because my friend is a pescatarian, and the Chef's Special only had a veggie option or a fish/meat option. That would have been ok..but the two main dishes were the chicken and pork. We went for it anyway....but I only got tiny tastes of the fish dishes, as I felt I needed to give most of it to her, since I got ALL the pork and chicken. Regardless, it was all very tasty and it was plenty of food. The atmosphere was also great. Friendly staff, nice lighting, decorated attractively and comfortable seating. We stayed for 2 hours, until we got moved from our table as it was booked for a reservation...but our waitress moved us to a table in the bar so we could finish our coffees. I'd definitely like to go back, especially for the brunch menu...it sounded amazing! The cocktails I tried were also delish. read more

Such amazing food! We originally picked this restaurant because everything is gluten free and one of us is celiac, but we all loved every bite! We ordered both the Machu Picchu and Fiji set menus, and it was more than enough food for the four of us. Everything was interesting, and we enjoyed every bite, but our absolute favourite, hands down, was the lamb. I didn't think I even liked lamb, but this changed my mind. We talked about it for the rest of our trip! Between the four of us, we had most of the cocktails too, and they were beautifully presented and delicious. Decided to go with a good friend to Mommi to have dinner. Originally started outside but once it's started to rain we were moved inside the restaurant to a completely empty section, when we were originally told there was no space inside. Once inside we were forgotten about and told it was very busy and it was too confusing as everyone from outside was going inside. We ordered more drinks and didn't receive them for 17 minutes, we were told there was only 1 bar tender and customers were ordering cocktails. We then finally got our food in drips and drabs. We ordered our salmon sashimi without soya sauce as they didn't bring it or even ask if we wanted it. We then waiting another 25 minutes and still didn't get everything we ordered. As the price of the food in this restaurant is quite expensive for the portions, location and utterly disappointing service I would recommend no stars whatsoever. In the end everything that we ordered never even came. A real shame. If you happy to earn your hard working income and be treated like this then step right up. A real disappointment as we originally waned to go to number 32 anyway, which is much more busy and much more reasonably priced. The manger took the drinks off our bill as well as all the items we did not receive but of course were tallied up. In the end the manager was lovely and apologised sincerely. He was the only saving grace that allowed me to give this 1 star. He offered us free drinks next time and really made us feel better. He was great! read more

Interesting looking place that doesn't really live up to expectations. The food is fine, but I would not describe it as memorable. Some dishes are overly fussy and you lose the flavour of the main ingredient. The octopus dish is a case in point. This is a delicate ingredient requiring an equally delicate, subtle touch, not the overly smoked rather dry treatment given here. The pork "burgers" were presentable but to my taste a little brutish, too large, stodgy and not really that sophisticated. I say this because the prices suggest something a little more special than what is actually delivered on the plate. To finish, the service is mundane at best, sloppy at worst. I had to wait over 10m to get a top up for a glass of wine on a near empty Wednesday night during which time my meat dish got cold. A fine looking addition to Clapham High Street but not my favourite local restaurant. I will give it another go, though. I really hope it works out, we could do with something really nice here. read more
