I was confused when I arrived because all the reviews mentioned homemade ice cream, but it had a Hershey's ice cream ad out front. Upon entering, the young woman showed us 2 cases of Hershey's ice cream, and one of fresh homemade ice cream, just made in-house. She also showed me another freezer chest with pints and quarts of other homemade flavors. I was definitely all about the homemade stuff. Got two scoops, Oreo and Peach! I had checked their social media to see posts about the fresh peaches they just got for the ice cream, it was really good! They post regularly, so check that out for their latest flavors! Loved the Oreo too... that was my toddler's favorite. Huge portions! I could not finish it all. My toddler liked the pictures on the walls, especially the posters of a kitten and a giraffe eating ice cream. Cheesy but adorable touch! The young woman who helped us was so kind and sweet... explained all the flavors and said we could sample if we weren't sure. She was in the middle of talking to us when some male employee appeared, took over in an authoritarian way, with no discussion with the woman, and just gave our total, like "where's the money" all brusque and pushy. That young woman was personable and deserves 10 stars; the guy was obnoxious. I wanted to tip the young woman but they don't let you do it with c-card, and I had no cash. So bring cash for tips! I didn't see Mommom... is she fictional or real? Or a spirit watching over us? Any which way, I'm happy I stopped, and will definitely visit again! Tip-- if you want lunch or dinner, stop at the Little Grocer nextdoor. They too have great reviews!

I highly recommend checking out this locally owned ice cream shop! We saw the listing on yelp and found those reviews helpful. They make their own flavors and have a selection of Hershey's brand. Cones, sundaes, bring home your own pint/quart. You name it, they've got it! Super friendly staff who greeted us as soon as we walked in.

Great selection of flavors, open year round, and reasonably priced. What more can you ask for from an ice cream place? I love that it's NOT a chain. Hershey's ice cream, which they stock, is a solid standard. They have a few custom flavors too which you can ask about. The guy who is usually working the counter is super friendly and relaxed. They have a fun contest which I've observed once - if you eat some ridiculous amount of ice cream and a milkshake too, you get it all for free. Saw some teenage athletes partake - oh to be young and carefree again. As it is, I feel guilty having a milkshake once in a while, so I'm not here regularly. But I would like to be... Hope this place survives, as it's a hidden gem just a block back from the main street. read more

I have always felt ice cream at shops was just as good as out the freezer aisle. That's really true for the most part until you taste homemade ice cream. It's beyond amazing. Mommom's definitely presents the wow factor in each one of their unique flavors. Every week the menu changes, so your taste buds will not be bored. On top of that, the staff are always pleasant and very patient. You never get the feeling that you're being a bother. Even when your spouse wants to try every flavor lol. It's not an average ice cream shop. It's much more than that and this is coming from someone who used to work at an ice cream parlor growing up. You have to try the waffle ice cream sandwich or even the freshly baked cookies with a homemade mix. I like different so I go with those, but they have all the classics you grew up with as well. All types of cones and even a challenge to earn your place on the wall. If you aren't feeling a spoon, then you can easily throw it in a shake. They even have yogurts for the health conscious. Come try it out when you get a chance. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is easily the best ice-cream in town! I really like the homemade flavors too, especially the bacon & marmalade. I have yet to try the waffle ice cream sandwich, but I know that a genius invented it. Their prices are also incredibly reasonable! I probably stop in there 3 times a week on average and it's never let me down. read more

Looked on Yelp for an ice cream place close by. This place looked the best. Yelp reviews were spot on. Friendly staff and we got to see two people complete the Mommoms challenge. We had soft serve and hard ice cream. Waffle cone was fresh. Very clean shop!!!!! Will be back for sure. read more

Very yummy! Awesome ice cream and the staff is very courteous! Plenty of ice cream flavors and toppings offered. They also make their own ice cream flavors. There are tables and chairs so you can sit and enjoy. Best ice cream shop in Dover! read more

Best ice cream in Dover. I've been here 3 years and have finally found the best ice cream. They have a numerous amounts of flavors and the amount of ice cream for the price is very much so worth it. Wild-caught salmon!? Wow! Not something typically offered in a quick-service style eatery. It was delicious! The roasted potatoes were deliciously seasoned with a good texture, the veggies were well-seasoned and cooked al dente, the rice did not have much flavor or seasoning, but I did not mind as the bowl was already packed with flavor and the rice was more for the carbs. I appreciate that the food is served restaurant sit-down style - served in a non-disposable bowl with actual silverware, and the food is brought to the table. When I finished my meal, another kind team member took my bowl. The service on my second trip was a far better experience. A nice finish would be a small assortment of freshly baked desserts. While I love chocolate chip cookies, I passed on trying CE's as it did not look appetizing. Overall, great experience! I will be back.

We adore this ice cream shop. The kids who work there are always the sweetest and so friendly. It's always quiet and well kept. They serve a great variety of Hershey's ice cream and homemade ice creams you can get by the cone/bowl and even in pints to take home. My favorite part is when I ask for rainbow sprinkles, they know what EXTRA means!! I've explained to them that I have a sensory thing with textures and it's almost like they told each-other because they never skip a beat on that when I come in, no matter who is working and that is very appreciated. I especially love how the owners have made this a place for school going kids to work at, and schedule the businesses hours around the kids and their school responsibilities. This is a very family oriented business that is a pleasure to support. It is so important that our youth is given a proper chance to succeed and this company will do that for your child who is just entering the work force while still trying to balance school/school sports etc. The owners of this establishment should be proud. Not only of their workers but of themselves as well. Not only have you created a very successful "small" business, but you did so while also putting the care and moral of your employees at the top of the list.
