Such a cute collection of interesting things. Lots of cute German items, but local as well. A concept store like a knickknack MoMA shop.

As soon as I realised I'd left the items there, the hotel traced them and sent me details of how to get them directed to my h ome via MBE in Portugal. I deal with Maria who was efficient, helpful and thorough from start to finish. She made the process of completing the information on the form so easy - because in fact once I'd sent her the details she offered to fill it in for me. It was a smooth experience and after signing and scanning in the form and passport I received my package just 3 days later via DPD. Thank you M.B.E - and Maria in particular - for a great service.

Since we live in the U.S., we are quite unfamiliar with the Portuguese language, which made it difficult to understand some of our waiters/waitresses (which it wasn't too bad, but it was sometimes difficult to communicate.) As we were sat down and asked what we wanted to drink, we were slightly surprised to see that our waiter was commenting on some of our drink orders. At first this seemed particularly strange to us, but eventually it became a very funny part of the night. Our waiter continued to act slightly unsocial and didn't seem to want to talk to us more than he needed too. Most of these thing aren't very big deals, and later in our trip they turned into extremely funny memories. As for the food, everyone in our little group found everything VERY delicious. As for me, i particularly enjoyed my burger, as it was cooked to perfection. Overall, our experience had a few bumps along the way, but turned out to be an extremely enjoyable night!

The quote is from their website and perfectly sums up the way they design, it's as simple as it can be and therefore has a nice timeless quality. The studio is small and is Portugal based but has design contributions from a global set of designers, because of this I would say adjectives to describe the aesthetic is "Scandinavian, minimal, and pure". If you like Hay or Muuto you will also like Mor Design. I was at their official open house at LX Factory and the space is worth visiting to see the chairs and accessories in person. You can also see how the pieces look in an interior as the living room set up is all furnished with their designs. They do most of their business via their website and can ship internationally if you like this kind of design.

But once I got there I was disappointed. From the service to the food. Not a fan. As a solo traveler I try to learn as much as I can to experience as much as I can to not hamper local spots. I was treated as a massive inconvenience by the people and the food carried the same amount of dissatisfaction. 10 months later I still can remember the bad experience. Fool me once. I've done the shared room arrangement a few times, but having my own room is more my speed. Staying in a hostel was a no brainer for me when I visited Lisbon two years ago. The Living Lounge is a beautiful hostel with colorful and thoughtful artwork adorning the walls of the common areas and individual rooms. Each room has a unique theme that was carefully curated by a local artist. I stayed in the clock-themed Timeless room. This room was right next to the staircase, so I could hear the sound of footsteps up and down the stairs during my stay. Bathrooms were clean and conveniently located on either side of the floor. This three-level walkup is a short distance from the Baixa-Chiado metro station, trams, and other attractions. The staff members were welcoming and accommodating. They even sent me a Lisbon guide prior to my stay that offered helpful resources and tips for navigating the city and making the most of my trip. The hostel's common area features a living room, kitchen, and bar. You can sign up at the reception desk for daily events such as the popular nightly dinners, walking tours or fado performances. I attended one of the nightly dinners during my stay. It featured a delicious and filling meal prepared by a chef and generous pours of wine for only ten euro. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this charming hostel and I can't wait to visit Lisbon again!
