It was a quick check in , that's as far s the quality of care went... I went for dizziness,chills,... I was given a blanket and put on on heart monitor ... had bloodwork, the doctor was inefficient , never looked in my ears(being dizzy) or mouth or anything else the er nurse could not speak or understand English well the man helping her had to spell for her.. he told me "MCH may not have the latest equipment or the best Drs but we and they are nice" I didn't go to the Er for nice... I went because I was not feeling well.. they did labs and the assistant told be they were fine, was he qualified to say that??? I recently was there in oncology infusion therapy area of the hospital. I was totally shocked and appalled to see not one nurse or receptionist had a mask on! Hello, oncology here! Also there were big signs everywhere saying nobody could enter except the patient. Guess what. They let in anybody and everybody Not one person had a mask. Disgusting. I guess because from what I see and hear around town, nobody thinks they need a mask or vaccinations. Who runs this "most beautiful" hospital? Was at the er yesterday, the most horrible nurse named sara,left my husband in such pain and walked out the door saying im not dealing with you. Really, this hospital is the most unprofessional place I have ever seen.talked to Donna the director of the era. She's so professional that she hung up the phone on me. She's been doing this job for 40 years , Hugh time to retire you are no help at all . 6 hours and never saw a dr. Please people before you are treated like crap, choose a different hospital. Terrible hospital. Charges insane "facility fees". Difficult to get in touch with billing or anyone from their office. I paid over $900 for services received in February of 2024. I had numerous phone and email conversations with their billing office regarding that bill and have fully paid for the services received. And yet, I still receive bills from MCH. I've been in Antrim for 7 years or so. I've had to go the emergency room a number times, both for me and friends. I've had a few minor surgeries there, 1 major surgery, and more to come. And physical therapy, which worked spectacularly well in my case. So I've lost count of my visits. But I will say a few things. Every single person, whether doctors, nurses, attendants, whatever title they may have, has been outstanding. Warm, friendly and patient, which are great things. And also professional and very thorough. I could go on, piling praise upon praise, but I'll spare you that. It's a truly excellent hospital and staff! This review is based on the experience of my mom, Betty. She broke her arm and had to go to the ER here. A few days later she had to have surgery on her arm due to the extent of the break. Of course she had to have a covid test which she was really nervous about. The nurse who did it was amazing! She was very gentle and made it as pleasant as possible. According to her the staff was excellent here. She found everyone to be very kind and helpful. The Dr. Had promised her a lollipop if she had her covid test and mom reminded him of it the day she went for surgery. So he had a special lollipop made for her. I'm so thankful for the people here. It is nice to know that they treated my mom like family. The nurse called us and kept us updated as the day went on and gave us a number to call anytime. When the surgery was over and we picked her up the nurse blew mom a kiss as we drove away. read more

This place is a literal chop shop. I went in to have an abcess in my mouth drained... they sent me home within 5 minutes of being there. I didn't even get a bracelet. They explained they're not dentists and prescribed me a weaker antibiotic than I was already on. Called my dentist (who is booked out for a week so I needed immediate assistance with the draining right away) dentist explained to me that them draining it would be BARE MINIMUM HEALTH CARE. DENTIST OR NOT, THEY SHOULD HAVE DRAINED IT FOR ME. The excuse of them not being dentists was asinine... any other emergency room would have preformed the drain no problem, dentist or NOT. I went to a BETTER emergency room the day after and they drained it right away for me. I felt they rushed me right out of there. They seemed irritated because they where eating lunch and didn't even try to help me. My dentist and the better emergency room I went to said it was crazy that they didn't drain it. They used the excuse of them not being dentists so they couldn't help me even tho that would have been bare minimum health care. Understaffed and didn't care about my issue. Ill never go back there again. read more

Horrible experience: Today was my surgery day at Monadnock Hospital which didn't happen because of the appalling way I got treated by a monster called Todd Fontaine. As a side note, all the nurses, receptionists and my surgeon himself were wonderful! This poor excuse for a human being entered the room already with an attitude, cold, impersonal but I ignored it and gave him a chance. However, the first thing out of his mouth was an extremely rude complaint to the nurse because he found a misspelled word on the paper he was reading, his comment was, "who wrote this? Can we get people here who can write in proper English?" Honestly, who cares about the misspelled word, "debilitating." That man is about to monitor my surgery and is worried about the word debilitating being misspelled? Then he asked about my medication and before I could reply fully, he interrupted me and said, "I am a doctor, I already know what these medications are." Then he asked why a nurse had even written the word debilitating because as he sees it, the word debilitating means in that scenario that I cannot tolerate Narcotic medication at all, in which I replied, that they make me nauseous, but I will deal with it, I had surgery before I know how that goes. It's part of it to feel nauseous afterwords. Then he said angrily, "you are not answering my question, and the use of the word debilitating then is wrong! Either you can take Narcotic meds or you don't!" I was so confused by that. He made no sense at all. I am not allergic to them, as I said it many times before through a series of many appointments, they make me nauseous, and I would rather be in a lower dosage BUT I told him I understood I may need them for the pain and I had taken them in the past and that's okay, I would take them to help with the pain. Not a problem. I had 3 other surgical procedures done at other hospitals and that was never a problem. But he somehow didn't like my answer and proceeded to be so rude I told him I wouldn't have him to treat me like that. Things escalated because he proceeded to offend in which I started sobbing. All the waiting, all the medical bills, many doctor's appointments, the overwhelming preparation to the surgery, to then have to deal with an egotistic man with a God-like complex who thinks he is so above everyone else that he can get away treating patients, nurses like trash! My wonderful surgeon tried to intervene to no avail as the anesthesiologist Todd Fontain re-entered the room and first thing out of his mouth was, "I'm sorry your anxiety got in the way." My anxiety??? I had very low anxiety up to the point he started belittling me and increasing my blood pressure. Up to that point, everything was going fantastic! I have evidence to back it up. Perfect blood pressure, I had a relaxing demeanor, I was in great spirits which could be confirmed by the nurses AND my surgeon himself who came for a quick visit/chat and cheered me up further. Dr. Fontain also said something like, "I refused to be enslaved by you!" What the hell does that even mean? This man is insane. There's something very wrong with this guy. And if you don't believe me read his reviews when it comes to attitude and behavior AND there is another review done by a nurse/patient who had the very same experience as me which validates my complaint. This nurse even said she was going to complain to the Medicine Board of NH which is exactly what I was thinking about doing. My surgeon then recommended that we reschedule the surgery with another anesthesiologist, that I would be better off that way. surgery has to be rescheduled so we can have another anesthesiologist. I went in for surgery today all excited, hopeful, with no anxiety and left a total mess. I kept hearing that this anesthesiologist has "great skills," which he may. I don't contest that! However, no one, absolutely no one should be treated like that, especially before surgery. Now, my anxiety is up, not to mention the waste of time and the feeling of helplessness for living in a world you need to keep you head down, be spoke down and accept mental abuse by certain doctors WHO KNOW you are desperate for the care! I consider his behavior to be INTENTIONAL INFLICTION OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS and encourage everyone to start speaking out about this very common fact in the Medicine Community that is quite often devastating to patients. I feel compelled to share my experience with Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH. I went a CT scan after being told by the nurse assistance at dr. Mandalika's office that my procedure was approved by my insurance. At no point was I informed of any costs out of pocket, or given a chance to decline the scan based on cost. A month later, a received a bill for $3k. Since I have been disputing these charges due to their lack of transparency, accountability, abuse and lack of empathy, only to be disregarded by their coordinator for patient experience Molly Rajaniemi, and Karen Bednarski Financial Assistance. This hospital's behavior is predatory, getting patients into debt through deceitful practices. This is not healthcare, it's a business built exploitation and financial harm. More disturbing, the hospital made a mockery of me throwing me into financial hardship, then sending me to collections and now is threating me to ruin my credit. read more

I had many tachycardia events over a lengthy period, ultimately having my first ablation in December 2020. I made several visits to the ER during that time. The nurses and medical techs, and doctors on call, were superb and treated me quickly, effectively and with kindness. The first ablation was not completely successful, which is not uncommon, leading to a second a year later in Boston, which was and has been successful. There were many more ER visits during the year between ablations. I have nothing but praise for those ER personnel who no doubt were stressed during Covid, who who took care of me and treated me with professionalism and understanding. read more

I've been happy with the majority of the different departments in this hospital for about 20 years. My low rating comes from my recent dealing with the Monadnock family care department. Dr. Andersen and his crew of limited knowledge and miserable colleagues are an absolute nightmare to have to deal with in an already rough situation. I would definitely give this hospital a higher rating if it wasn't for the department that I mostly deal with. This hospital would definitely be much better off getting rid of the whole Monadnock family care crew and getting people who are capable and knowledgeable of actually doing their job! read more

I shattered my elbow on the top of a local mountain and was brought to MCH's ER. The care was truly amazing! Dr. Vache Humbardzumyan, ortho surgeon, came in on Saturday night to see me and he did surgery on my elbow on Sunday morning. It's only been 4 weeks and I am already in Occupational Therapy and expect to have full range back after another 4 weeks. MCH is truly a gem for the region and its patients. The staff at the hospital (shout out to Nurse Bailey and Social Worker Patrice!) took the time to talk with my sister and me, asking a lot of questions to understand my dad's situation and, what his baselines were to determine how they can best meet his needs. ER Sent an injured (laceration & multiple contusions) 84 year old woman home who was visiting the area and fallen, treated with stitches from an ER visit with NO followup appointments or follow on treatment recommendation. Dr. Levene is an genocologist. He delivered my daughter. She had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and he acted quick and got her out. Dr. Hurley one of the pediatricians at Peterborough was called in before she came out. He was right there and worked on her until she was ok and in the clear to come to me for skin to skin. All the nurses Trish, Elaine, Ashley and Heather did great helped me with everything. Answered all my questions and even watched my little one while my husband and I got some shut eye. Zoey our LNA did great with paperwork and anything I needed that she could get. The hospital food was absolutely delicious. And last but not least I didn't catch the kind cleaning ladys name but she was so respectful made sure it was a ok to come in a clean. She made sure everything was to our liking. The only down fall to my experience was Dr. Sterzer kept sending me home. I ended up going through 82 hrs worth of labor because of it. And her refusing to induce me. But my weekend all together went great. read more

I had a shard of glass in my foot and needed to come back three times to get it finally taken out. Not really sure why I kept getting sent away. Generally good people with cold hands. read more

I was admitted from the ER for a severe gastroenteritis (only eat oysters in months that have an "r"). The ER doctor reminded me multiple times what an inconvenience I was for coming in on his shift. My initial and morning repeat labs showed a metabolic acidosis with a very low bicarb, likely secondary to the vomiting and diarrhea. The following morning I was seen by a different resident and given Acetazolamide 5 minutes prior to discharge. This further exacerbated my symptoms, since Diamox is used to treat alkalosis instead of acidosis. I vomited multiple times on the plane ride home and was sent a $14,000 bill for my 9 hour hospital stay. I take partial blame in this ordeal for taking a medicine thrown to me by a nurse 5 minutes prior to leaving without asking questions. I also was not thinking clearly enough to realize that I was taking a medication that was an absolute contraindication to the condition that I presented with. However, theres no excuse for the medical negligence. While my case was under review by the hospital medical board, I was turned into collections by the hospital. I was later told this was a mistake. After further review, they were kind enough to remove $6 of my $14,000 bill for the incorrect medication I was given. Beware before visiting this hospital read more

My mother was brought to the emergency room by ambulance after coming down with the flu and falling in the bathroom. They were very nice in the emergency room and they kept her overnight. They were treating the flu but she was still very ill and had trouble walking so they kept her an additional night and discharged her. Unfortunately they didn't care about our concerns that she was 86 years old still sick with the flu and could barely struggle to walk with a walker, which she hadn't needed before. She told them her foot was killing her but they didn't seem to care. We took off the sock on her foot when she was home and noticed extensive bruising, it's probably broken. I would never go there again. She is still sick and has a foot she can't walk on. read more

I've been to both the ER more than once & given birth here once. All great experiences. One trip to the ER ended in surgery & they were wildly helpful, no complaints, all-around good experience. It was my first surgery & they put me at ease & I wasn't nervous at all. Second trip to the ER I was just there for tests & they're not sure what was going on but they ruled out all of the bad stuff like stroke, seizure, etc. I left feeling confident I wasn't dying so that's good & set me up to follow-up with a specialty doctor. The maternity ward is the best. The nurses are genuinely caring & helpful & they are WILDLY supportive of breast feeding - their lactation consultants are wonderful! I called a few times & visited once after giving birth for tips & help & they were great. HIGHLY recommend. I love that the Medical Arts building is right there. I see several doctors there & it's super convenient. When they order tests, I just have to go downstairs, register which takes less than 10 minutes, get the test done, & I'm out of there in 20 minutes - it's GREAT! Everything is always fast & efficient & done correctly. NEVER long lines or long waits & everyone is so friendly!! You don't get treated like a number like at big hospitals, they treat you like a person here. Smaller is better, in my book. :) Highly recommend. read more

Bond wellness center is what all hospitals should have. A place to stay or get healthy rather than just a place to fix things when they go wrong. MCH is a great asset to everyone in the region. It's not big enough to have major trauma center, but it's a great place to be treated. read more

My 88 year old great grandmother was admitted to the ER last night. We dealt with the most rude nurses we ever have. They were condescending, inattentive, and insensitive to my grandmother, who was in excruciating pain. The nurse caring for my grandmother once she was admitting was also incredibly rude. I am completely disappointed in the medical care provided by the nursing staff. The nurses here shouldn't be nurses. They lack compassion, care, and kindness. I don't recommend taking your loved ones here. If you're in the monadnock area, I suggest you make the trip to Keene of its possible. read more
