The year round program is awful and not worth the time or money, and I would warn you against it. It is a small minded program and does not prepare you to teach in a classroom at all. I feel it set me back a few years in many ways because of it, and I regret doing the program.

It is the type of place where I leave my keys in the car all day in the parking lot. The type of place where I trust every parent and staff member with my child. I can not say that about anywhere else I have ever been. This school not only provides the academics needed, but the ever more important life skills. I know my child will graduate with the wisdom needed to get started on her own life.

In an…read moreage where schools just seem to care about test scores, High Mowing sends kids out on survival camping trips, gets boys to Morris Dance around a May Pole, and has as high status accomplishments, hosting the 3 or 4 coffeehouses or designing the school's year book. Yea, some kids get into Wellsley or Cornell, and they did win the basketball championship 3 years in a row, but the school is really about the arts, being yourself, and doing your best. My two kids go there and love it. We're lucky the place exists and incredibly lucky it is down the street.

We had called that morning and they squeezed us in. The care we received during the class you wouldn't be able to tell we were "squeezed in". We had many tries because it was our first time ever doing pottery so we had unlimited chances to get it right. All in all, it's a hole in the wall but well worth it for anyone looking for something to do on a weekend. Can't wait to come again to paint our masterpieces again with Judy!

We moved to a different state, otherwise they would still be at this school. The teachers that our kids had were caring and warm; kids got to do a lot of free play with other children and work on their social skills that way; the program also involved a lot of movement and outdoor time, which is so important to young children. Even in the short few years that we were there, I could see how being at the school made our kids more creative and gave them great social skills. Our kids still miss their old school.

The campus is breathtakingly stunning! Beautiful buildings set against the backdrop of mountains. It's much like a small college campus, with several dorms, and buildings housing the different academic departments. Definitely an amazing setting for learning!
