The manager was beyond helpful. The motel was so '70's. But I loved everything about it. The bed was comfy. Me and my 2 grands were able to walk to the only sit down restaurant in town which turned out to be great!! I am definitely going to return. read more

My husband and I were passing thru and after reading the reviews we decided to stay at the Monarch Motel. We are not disappointed. Our check-in was very pleasant. Our room is spacious, King size bed is comfortable. We have everything we need...small table with 2 chairs, mini Fridge, Micro, flat-screen TV and good Wifi. As others have mentioned it is very quiet. Our room is also very clean, not sure what 2nd reviewer after me is talking about, it does not describe this motel. Bathroom is also very clean and nice hot shower. If we ever pass thru here again we would stay here. read more

Monarch Motel & Hawthorn's Best Inn are run by the same people. Monarch is a little less in price, best has larger rooms. I've stayed in both and have been very satisfied. Been well treated by the owners, good value, and clean. read more

The owner was kind enough to give me a discount. The room was clean at first look. I rode a motorcycle from Vegas and just wanted to sleep as the summer heat got the best of me. The drawers of the night stand next to the wall had something spilled in it. It puddled and dried and was very sticky. The bedspread had holes. A used/old (I don't know how old it was) coffee filter/bag was stuck in the filter area of the room coffee machine and the bottom of the coffee pot had dried coffee stains. I wanted coffee after waking but didn't trust the machine cleanliness. I did clean the filter container and pot but the water reservoir I didn't trust. It was a quiet room with good air-con, TV, cable, wifi, shower, tub, sink, floor were clean. I would stay again but regardless of how tired I will inspect and change rooms if need be. read more

I always stay at this hotel. It's super clean and spacious. My room I always get has 2 queens, kitchen with Refridgerator, 2 burner stove top, kitchen sink and microwave. It's quite and at the end if town. read more

Great little home town motel. Great customer service. You speak with the owner when you call, he has pride in his motel.Secure parking for up to a 24 foot cargo trailer, there is a dirt parking lot right next to the motel, that you can park Semi trucks in if needed. The town itself feels safe. The rooms are clean and well kept for an older motel. The Wifi was good and the AC worked well! I recommend this to any weary travelers looking for a inexpensive quality place to stay. read more

Very clean motel, the people here are very nice this place is well kept up, the only down side is there pillows are flat only two per bed and the mattress are hard very uncomfortable like sleeping on the floor, I would have gave 4 stars is they replace mattress and pillows, next time may try one of the other motels to see if I get better sleep read more

Nice friendly owners that really take pride in taking care of "their motel" (so rare these days) They even have the great roses outside many of the rooms (could win contests!). Very nice for the price. Driving from Las Vegas to Reno, I skipped Tonopah. And I'm glad I did. Without knowing anything about the motel or town, I finally got tired enough to stop in Hawthorne, NV. This was cheaper than the bigger chain America's Best Inn across the street, The outside was quaint and clean. I was surprised how clean inside and out was, especially for a motel in a small town. The bedding was clean, the bed firm but comfortable, the Wifi was fast and reliable, and there was a nice enough tv on the wall. The ac was a window unit, but cooled the room, a small table and chairs by a window, a counter under the tv, and two small counters beside the bed...plenty of convenient outlets. There was a large walk-in area with a bench and a place to hang clothes above it. Two drawers for clothes/underwear in the tv shelf. The only mirror is above the sink in the bathroom. That might bother some people, but I only stayed the night and didn't unpack. Across from where clothes would hang, there was another counter with a microwave, coffee maker, and small fridge under the counter. The bathroom is a nice average size. The bedroom was small, but adequate. I think other rooms might be larger, but I was alone, so I got the least expensive with one queen bed, not a king-size. The bathroom was amazingly clean. There was a new blow dryer and new fixtures. The floors, carpet, bedding, tub, sink, and toilet were all extra clean and in great shape...looked new. No foul odors, and no heavy perfumes to cover up odors. No odors at all. It all looked (and smelled) surprisingly clean. Perfect for a traveler, and I could even see living here for a few weeks or months if I had to. It's fine if you like smaller and cozy. Don't get food from the gas station a block away, because expiration dates appear to have been removed, and one sandwich had meat and cheese (normally pink and red) turned sickly gray. But that's not the motel's fault. Food is a little hard to find, so bring your own, if possible. But the pizza place delivers and the food is great! The room colors are dark and my room is in the shade, so it's not uncomfortably hot in the summer sun. It must have been repainted with new fixtures, because everything was new and clean. Nice little pieces of inexpensive art on the walls. It reminds me of an apartment someone with nice taste but not much money would have. The motel must have been redone recently, because my room is nothing like the negative reviews. I put 4 stars first, but changed it to 5, because for the low price there's nothing wrong with it. The fridge took a while to cool my drinks, but maybe that's normal for a small fridge. The water in the bathroom was only hot and scalding, no cool/cold, in the hot afternoon, but fine in the middle of the night. For a bath, you might have to wait until late night or morning. Not sure why it's like that. Maybe the tank is in the sun? The tub is clean, new, and big/deep. For the low price and remote location I can't find anything wrong with it. Don't expect it to be as fancy as the Hilton, but you won't pay as much, either. read more

I had been out spending several days exploring the desert area of California and Nevada. I had planned to stay in Tonopah but the entire town was booked solid because of a large solar project. So I pressed on and arrived in Hawthorne having no idea where to stay. I drove by and saw the Monarch Motel and it appeared very clean and quiet. I stopped in and they had a room. The room was fresh and clean and well furnished. It was one of the quietest nights I have ever spent in a motel or hotel. I could not hear a sound from the rooms to the side of mine. There is in room coffee, a fridge and microwave. Rajyl checked me in and she was extremely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay so much that I plan to return the next time I am in that part of Nevada. read more

Beautiful and extremely clean. This is a gem in the desert. Rooms are very nicely decorated and the have plenty of bright lights to read by.

My girlfriend and I stay there every work for business. We generally stay in the same room. And have had others stay in the 2 queen bed room. The people that work there are very friendly. They are reasonably priced. Each room comes with a fridge which is nice. They are clean.... to top it off they have washer and dryer on site to pay and use. read more

Stay here if you're in Hawthorne!! Based on other reviews on Yelp, I had a list of 3 possible motels for our stay, stopped at the first two and asked to see a room-yikes! No thank you... Went to the Monarch and did the same. All of the rooms had been completely remodeled and refurnished about a year ago and they were fantastic! All new furniture, tub, toilet, vanity, etc. There was a small kitchen area with refrigerator and good sized freezer, a microwave, a sink, and even a double hot plate and vent fan! Very clean and modern. It is a motel, so only ground level rooms that you can park in front of. The grounds were clean and well maintained and the room was very comfortable. A 2-Queen room including tax came to less than $80. I was nervous about what we would find, but I am definitely glad I found the Monarch and will definitely stay there again if ever in Hawthorne. read more

Our room was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Amenities were basic. There are some nice little features that tell me the management takes that extra step to make their rooms comfortable. Separate light switches for each bed light. A vanity mirror in the bathroom. A built-in bench for suitcases. And most appealing is a mini-kitchenette (no supplies) with a counter and sink, portable two-burner electric stove, microwave and refrigerator. As we usually camp and stay at a motel once a week or so simply to have a nice bed and bathroom, the ability to cook our own food in a town that has very little in the way of good places to eat is most welcome. We will definitely stay here again if the situation arises. read more

My husband and I after a long week we're driving through Tonopah looking for anywhere to stay, no one came to the doors or answered doorbells. It was 12:00 midnight so we decided to go on to Hawthorne which was the best decision we made. We called the Monarch Motel and Jack the manager answered the phone immediately and was very, very friendly and he also told us to drive safely. When we arrived at 2 a.m. he promptly answered the door and gave us a beautiful quiet clean room, with full amenities refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer clean soft towels not like sandpaper as they are at the Tonopah station! We had our animals with us and the fee was very very reasonable! It was so very quiet and these people obviously know how to run a great business with customer service. They understand that not all of us go to sleep at 8 at night and get up at 7 a.m. in the morning!!! We are so tired of waking up at 7 or 8 a.m. To maids screaming down the hall to each other and bumping their vacuum cleaners or carts into the walls. More people in the motel, hotel business should follow their example! We will never stay in Tonopah again! We will always stay at the Monarch or the best America in Hawthorne. What a great cozy surprise for us. Thank you again Jack for your hospitality and friendliness. The pillows were not hard and bulky.... the blackout curtains work... and a real coffee pot added to our stay!! arrogant, unpleasant, non english speaking owners. Old moldy motel with a coat of paint over it. Silk purse from a sows ear. Got a bad back and bed bug sores. Bath so small cant turn around. Looks nice until you get into a room and see the details. Any other motel can be had for 1/3 less and you get nice people. Avoid at all costs. We were wildly insulted by these rude people, but the town was booked. should have slept in my car. read more
