As my mother has recently come to the end of an almost two year stay at Knockeen, I thought this a…read moregood time to share my thoughts about this nursing home. The key word here is "home", because every one of the staff and management strive in every way possible to make it feel like a home for the residents. My mother was treated with every kindness during her stay at Knockeen. She was always met with a smile and a kind word from each and every member of staff, indeed the same treatment was extended to me on my visits there. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and any issues, no matter how trifling, were dealt with promptly and with a smile. Cleanliness and hygiene were bywords of this establishment and were always clearly in evidence. The residents also had the luxury of freshly prepared, wholesome food every day, served in one of the many dining rooms, or to the persons room if that were required. The one room mother and I used most of was the hospitality room, where we regularly went for a cup of tea and a couple of biscuits. There were daily activities to engage the residents and I was informed that Kitty actually enjoyed a good singsong and usually actively participated in it. When the time came for my mother to embark on her final journey, the level of her care actually went up, with no stone left un-turned to ensure her comfort. My family and I were afforded every hospitality as we saw Kitty through her final days and hours in Knockeen. Even after her passing, the care didn't stop, and Kitty was able to repose at "home". This was facilitated by the management and staff with great kindness and compassion. It was very comforting to witness the individual staff members coming to pay their respects and say goodbye. Staff members even came in on their day off to pay their respects, way above and beyond the call of duty. In conclusion, I have no problem in commending this establishment to the highest degree, as a place where my mothers final years were made as comfortable and happy as they could possibly have been. This of course is down to the consummate professionalism and humanity of the management, medical staff and carers that make Knockeen such a special place. Thank you.

I visited Physio matters 3 weeks ago because I could barely raise my right arm above shoulder…read morelevel,i had a 1 hour session of Physio with Rebecca who massaged the upper arm and applied cold and hot treatment and showed me a range of exercises to carry out twice a day and to apply the cold and hot treatment my self 2 or 3 times a week,after just 1 week I found that there was a great improvement and now my arm is back to normal,i would highly recommend this clinic if you need any treatment.
