The Inn keeper was waiting for us upon arrival, very sweet and warm man. We got the last room which was a twin room. Two single beds and full bathroom. It was quiet, cozy and very homey and very clean. The dining area was setup family style, guests share the table. The breakfast consisted of eggs, croissants, fresh homemade jelly, multigrain bread, fruit salad, yogurt, cheese, coffee and the freshest glass of grapefruit juice I've had in a long time. FYI: the homemade jelly can be bought. I had planned to by a jar but forgot :( The cost includes: wifi, buffet breakfast, use of the pool and hot tub. To be honest, I toyed with the idea of not writing a review for this beautiful hideaway but felt it would be selfish of me to deprive someone else of the enjoyment I had staying here. This was the second time I had stayed in Poppi's guesthouse on a roadtrip to Kelowna. When I…read morearrived I tried to check in on Yelp and couldn't find the guesthouse? Guess this will be my chance to tell you all about a great find. Love that you can make reservations either through their website, or on numerous online booking forums, but only their website gives you exact details of the beds in each of the 5 bedrooms. Bonus: for each person staying there is a free aquatic centre pass for pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, waterslide and climbing wall. We have always been too busy taking in everything else but really need to remember about this next time. When you arrive, park around back in the private lot off the alley. Go inside and give Poppi a call so she can give you the tour. Poppi is friendly and full of knowledge about the area. As she remembered us from the last time we visited, she made sure to tell us about all the new restaurants that had opened and advise where to find them all too. After a quick tour to our room and making sure we had everything she left us to settle in with one last "use the phone to call me if you need anything". Poppi stays on the upper level of the house but does her best to stay out of the way of her guests but right there is you ever have an issue. We stayed in the Taj Mahal room, which has a double bed with a single bunk on top, perfect size for the 3 of us. Beds are comfortable, bath and hand towels provide for every person in the room, extremely clean and well maintained. All the bedrooms and shared bathroom are on the second floor. Bathroom is clean and also has the washer dryer set up in there - cant remember if you can do a load of personal laundry or not but think so. Shower is fantastic for a guesthouse with hot water coming out pretty quickly. On the same floor is a cute little balcony with table and chairs that you can sit at and enjoy the sunshine. Downstairs is a large kitchen and second bathroom with shower, as well as a sitting room and games room. There are board games and a foozeball table you can use. TV is set up in the corner and a desktop computer for use of guests. As we were there the day before the long weekend, there were only 2 other rooms occupied but didn't really run into anyone. Previously when we stayed the whole house was full but was easy to get into the bathrooms and use the kitchen. Whenever I am in the area, this is where I will stay. Also really love that the cost is per room not per person - lovely detail for the price conscious.

After seeing the place and staying for the evening, I could definitely see myself going back for a longer-term stay. While the place was perfect for a one-night stop over in Revi, Poppi's Guesthouse would be the perfect place to stay if your in Revelstoke for a week, or even a full season! The only thing that prohibited that is the fact that several restaurants we were interested in were closed for a few evenings. Apparently our visit coincided with the end of ski season. I loved the touches in the room- Hudson Bay blanket, lovely pillows, all natural toiletry products. And breakfast, to die for! Tasty and healthy and all the flavors we love. Coffees and other beverages out 24/7 not to mention the delicious tarts left for us on check-in. No shoes Inn, which is the same as our home so we didn't mind, but just so you are aware. I would recommend they put some stickers on a few of the windows. When we pulled in an injured dove was in the parking lot, a bloody beak so we assume she ran into a window. While having our coffee the next morning in room 3, two birds hit the front window very loudly. Heartbreaking but easy enough to fix.

I've stayed at Cedars about 3 or 4 times now and there are things that I love and do not love about…read moreit. It's right off of the Trans-Canada Hwy, so it's easily accessible. Rates are not cheap but prices do include hot water showers and flush toilets. The women's restroom facility is not fancy and even though I appreciate the toilets, I find the showers a little greebly and actually prefer to use my camping shower when the weather is nice. The facility can get very busy because of the amount of women using the two available showers as well as the electrical outlets for hairdryers, etc. It's not cleaned as often or as thoroughly as it could be (although I know its cleaned once per day for sure) and they allow for a build-up of spider webs, which grosses me out because there are usually large spiders in them. Nonetheless, it certainly is better than a rotten smelling port-a-potty. There are some great, roomy tent sites with decent picnic tables. Others have very shoddy tables with minimal privacy and shade. The campground itself doesn't seem to get very busy so if you arrive early enough, you can get your pick of sites. As a group, we get the same one every year because we feel it's the best of the non-serviced tent sites (#67). It has shade, privacy, lots of room for two tents and vehicles and there's a water tap beside it. You can purchase necessities at the store such as wood, ice and snacks. The wood is always dry and the pieces are small enough that you can use a hatchet instead of an axe. I prefer to purchase everything else before I arrive or in Sicamous, which is about a 10-15min drive away. There's also a laundry facility, pool and hot tub in the main building, but I've never used them. I've walked around the RV park, which I think is lovely and very family friendly. The restrooms are considerably nicer. I will keep coming back to Cedars because it's peaceful and can get really hot weather. You definitely feel like you've escaped the city.
