Who knew Morrissey + Beto would be such a perfect combo? We originally planned just to check out the space, but it turned out Beto himself was leading the Zumba session Saturday morning. With our flight out of Ft. Lauderdale not until 3pm, the timing was perfect. We booked the session, spent Friday afternoon soaking up South Beach, and went into Saturday ready to move. Saturday morning became much more than just a workout. As one staff member put it, this was "more than the Beto experience" it was a Zumba Lift promo shoot, and the energy was unreal. Why City Zero Works--Especially If You're Traveling * 25 minutes or less from Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, or surrounding areas * 10-15 minutes from Downtown Miami * Parking available across the street or along nearby roads * Parking runs about $8-$12 for 2-3 hours, with discounts available through City Zero memberships Forgot your workout gear? No problem. City Zero has you covered with Zumba and City Zero apparel on-site great prices, solid quality, and even some surprise deals. I walked away with a City Zero hoodie and workout shorts, and they're now staples in my workout rotation. The Zumba Lift Experience Zumba Lift is an incredible blend of strength, rhythm, and energy. Whether you're: * New to Zumba * Zumba-curious but on the fence * Or looking for a fresh, structured fitness reset This format might be exactly what you need to build a healthier, more productive fitness routine. More Than Just Zumba City Zero isn't only about classes...it's a full service gym with life and fitness coaches who help curate programs tailored to your goals. And Don't Skip the City Bar Post-workout cravings? Covered. Healthy shakes, plus breakfast and lunch options, make it easy to refuel the right way after training. Bottom line: Whether you're a Miami local, visiting from up north, or traveling and don't want to skip your fitness routine...Zumba Lift at City Zero delivers. High energy, top-tier instruction, and a welcoming vibe that makes you want to come back. I think will visit again soon! Texas Mozzer! Special, shout to the staff: Nate, Miss Nancy, Liana, Jenny, sales staff for City Gear, and last but not least Beto Perez!

You can also park on the street and if you are a member I believe you can use the Parkwhiz app to get 2 hours free parking , $2 per additional hour. The first floor is dedicated for classes including Zumba, strong nation, yoga, and strength classes. They have a really nice stage with lights and a special spot for a live drummer. There is space to store belongings on the side and back of the room. A smoothie bar for snacks and quick meals is also located on the first floor. All the equipment can be found on the second and third floors, all machines are new and in great condition. Fit Avenue is located on the last floor, this is a separate gym for heart rate - based HIIT workouts with treadmills, row machines and weights. They use heart monitors to track your progress. They offer a kidzone to take care of your children while you work out ($5 a day or $60 membership) and they also sell Zumba wear next to the front desk. I've been to several Zumba and strong nation classes and all instructors have been really good including Fit Avenue where it feels almost like personal training, coaches pay attention to form and explain monitor stats. Highly recommend trying this gym!

I came in and the manager told me that since it was my first class it was free (yay!). I stayed for the salsa and bachata class, the instructors (a guy and a girl) were both very nice, broke down the dancing steps and made it all seem easy. Overall it was a nice, fun workout and will definitely be returning. Please note that the place seems to be undergoing renovations so there are a few things halfway completed.

The Box is located at the Shoppes at Midtown near Angelina's and SugarCane. Atmosphere: This studio is brand new and outfitted with lockers, changing rooms, immaculate bathrooms and a cool indoor boxing ring. There is also a juice bar, The Juice Box, that sells drinks and smoothies for a post workout treat. The actual boxing studio is a separate dark room with black lights, high ceilings, mirrored walls, and 3 rows of punching bags. Everyone gets their own bag and each bag has a sensor that tracks how many punches you get in and your power. You can see you stats at the end of class to gauge performance. Workout: I've tried class with 3 of the instructors (Angie, Mike, Alvin) and they've all been awesome. Music is blasting, and the instructors explain the punches/combos and walk around offering help where needed. Class is 45 minutes divided in into a couple segments: warmup, shadow boxing, actual boxing on the bag, 5 minute abs and a cool down. There is a clock on the wall that times the different sections, and the class FLIES by! The Box offers classes almost every hour on the hour so it's pretty convenient to find a time to come in. Other: Parking can be difficult. Give yourself 10 minutes to find a spot. Wraps are $6 for purchase and can be reused. Gloves are $3 for rental per class.

Give yourself some extra time so you don't miss a single minute of this killer workout. I brought my own wraps and gloves, and would recommend that everyone hits up the "going out of business" sale at Sports Authority to do the same. It's the most economical option if you plan on doing a lot of boxing over time....but I digress. Behind a very clean entrance area and small boxing ring are a wall of lockers. There's a few very clean and modern bathrooms with showers also available, and in general the entire place was immaculate. The class takes place in dark room with rows of bags tied to the ground. There's a few things I love about this setup: 1) you can hardly see yourself which means that nobody else can really see you...aka, no fear of being judged and 2) each bag is equipped with a sensor to keep track of your performance based on the number of punches you land. Being a VERY competitive person, this fueled my fire and motivated me to work even harder in class. I also really liked our teacher, Gab. She made the class super hard but wasn't intimidating or too tough on us. It was just the right amount of encouragement and technical support, and I really enjoyed her class. Overall, this studio, the amenities and teachers give this place an A+. Can't wait to go back!

There's a handful of different class formats that rotate, and within those workouts are circuits that also change monthly. Epic is a national chain, so you may be doing the same workout as a friend who goes to the outpost in NYC, SF, DC, or maybe just Coral Gables. Each class is 45 minutes and consists of a warmup, circuit, and cool down. By the time you're done mopping the floors, it ends up going a little over, but you'll probably be in and out within an hour. Even though it's strength training and you do exercises you may be used to doing in shoes, you're actually barefoot which I love! I've only been a handful of times but plan on returning again and again. The instructors are super kind and motivating. I always feel like I get a good workout and know I'll get stronger with consistent attendance. Not only that, but I'm planning for my first Tough Mudder this year and know this is the perfect place to train. Would definitely recommend giving this spot a try, no matter where you are on your fitness journey.

5 Star workout and community…read more I usually do not review places other than restaurants, but this place deserves a great shoutout. This is not your usual workout. Everyday of the week is a different workout, with all the workouts changing every month; this will keep you on your toes on every workout, challenging yourself to learn and master new moves. Aside for the ever varying workouts, the instructors are great, they are always there to motivate you to push you a bit harder, and if you have questions they will also be there to assist you. In contrast to Crossfit, the exercises at Epic allow you to work at your own pace and level, you will see people who modify the every station to make it suitable for them, while others will level them up. But the most attractive point about Epic for me is its sense of community. If you have ever gone to a gym by yourself you will notice the difference that comes working out with someone side by side, it pushes you to work harder, to improve, and to take the boring out of the workouts. This is not a place to go if you are looking to "build up" given that the exercises are of a high intensity nature, but if you are looking for a community that will help you stick with your fitness goals Epic is a great choice.
