I was out in Robinson visiting a loved one last month and was craving pizza. Monicals was right down the street so I placed an order online, very easily, and walked to get it. The place was packed when I got there (a sign of good food!!) and the staff was very friendly. I had a personal cheese and black olive thin crust which was very tasty. Their crust isn't like big chain pizza crust - it has that wood fired effect and you can tell it was definitely hand kneaded/tossed dough. In my opinion, it is Expensive pizza, it does taste good. But I have ordered extra cheese on my pizza, and it's the same amount of cheese if you don't order the extra. read more

The Monical's franchise has been in Central and Southern Illinois for several decades now. Which is baffling to some, and an act of divine grace to others. Monical's defies most conventions. They serve a thin, crispy crust, not necessarily native to Illinois. Pieces are cut into squares. And, for reasons unknown, they have a passionate clientele. Since it is a regional franchise, I've heard first hand stories of people driving +100 miles just to eat at Monical's for a birthday outing. The Robinson restaurant is quite large, stays busy, and is well run. They also have a meeting room for parties and meetings with a max capacity of about twenty persons. Traveled from Idaho to visit family here and this was a favorite of my better half's growing up. Well they didn't disappoint all these years later. Ordered delivery to a nearby hotel. It arrived in 25 mins (reasonable timing). I ordered a personal "Pan" pleaser. Which includes a salad and drink. Customer Service Stinks!! We recently had a training class dinner here, and I have never felt so unappreciated as I did that night. Monical's set us up as a buffet, us and us only, so we were paying for whatever we wanted, yet we couldn't have whatever we wanted. Pizzas we ordered would not get made because, "You already had one of those out here and we don't want to make to much, to where there are leftovers, because you can't have boxes to take it home". WTF...we are paying for this, for us only, not the entire restaurant and if there are leftovers we can't take them. Monical's your busniess etchics sucks and you need to remember that customers should be treated and appreciated better; otherwise you won't have any customers. read more

If you are looking to gamble on good pizza this is the place. My wife and I ate here the first time a couple months ago and had a very good pan pizza. Comfortable and clean and a nice gas fire place in the middle of dining area. However we went last night and the same pizza was terrible. I specifically ask for 'well done' but it was served nearly cold and definitely undercooked. Toppings were scarce too! A pepperoni pizza with one pepperoni per slice. Getting it right 50% of the time is not worth it. read more

We eat here 3+ times a month! It's true, their pizza is the best around! What I will rave about is the price! We are a family of 6. 3 of the bunch are teenagers. Many know what it takes to hear 'OHHH I'm full' come from their mouths! We can walk out of there for under $40 (tip included)!! We can't even score that at McD's anymore! The Family Pleaser is our gold mine! The service is fantastic! Yes, young waitresses are working the dinning room. I've worked for the public ALL of my adulthood life, I know what they are going through, I can sympathize a crazy Friday night after a county rivalry game or Sunday lunch crowd!
