I contacted Monique based on a referral from an acquaintance.  I was looking for someone to train me at home.  Although working out at home is nice, I really dislike exercise.  I look for a lot of excuses to avoid what I consider to be a chore.  By the time I finally reached out to Monique, it had been months since I worked out and I had been happily ignoring my diet.   The hours of sendentary activity due to working from home, and lack of exercise coupled with a bad diet made me feel unhealthy.  I realized I needed to do something. Monique responded to me promptly and we discussed my goals and my current fitness level.  I told her I needed a person who would do house calls.  Monique has developed a really pleasant rapport with me and she also relates to me on a personal level.  She is a great motivator and she counters all my excuses in a reasonable, logical way.  Monique has also suggested some lifestyle changes, which I have followed.  I was suprised to see they really did make a difference in my overall health.   I actually now look forward to my sessions, and a large part of it is because of Monique, her calming influence, and her humor.  It's like having a friend visit me and it's very therapeutic.  She has an extensive knowledge of her field and applications.  No two workouts with her are the same, and she has used Pilates, weight training, yoga, cardio, and introduced new concepts to me if I can handle them.  Monique is super responsive to my needs and always is in touch with me.  She gently challenges me to go outside my comfort level.  She is unbelieveably accomodating  if I need to make an ocassional change in schedule, and I've never skipped a workout with her because she gives me great motivation and support.  I really recommend Monique Forman.   You really need to work with her to see how greatly you can benefit.  She's amazing! read more

Monique is an excellent personal trainer! Ever since I started, I have become 10x stronger than I was originally. She's so inspirational and really motivates you to be the best you can be! She has a degree in what she does for a living and it's clear that she is extremely educated because she knows all about the functions of muscles in the body and which exercises help strengthen them. If you have had surgeries or medical conditions, she is also well aware of areas of caution and will give very good exercises to do that will actually help heal you while giving you a nice workout. I have had the great experience to know Monique as an instructor at Yogaworks Tarzana. She brings high energy, passion and encouragement to all her classes. She arrives early, makes a true effort to learn everyone's names and she utilizes the innovative tabata timer system which makes the classes go quickly and creates a sustained cardio based full body workout. 1 stars because She was a very sweet, and motivating on my first and only personal one on one training session. I was in for a lifestyle changing experience! This was my first time in my life ever making a decision to actually hire a trainer to help because everything else seems to fail for me because I felt like I couldn't do it on my own. And I explained my importance and how motivated and encourage I am for this and was willing to go to any extent. 0 stars for her giving up on me on day one! And left me crying for several minutes, after receiving a text the same day in the evening, that she is is sorry but she can no longer train me or give me the attention that I need because she got a "sudden offer to teach a class". I got up after my husband told me that there many trainers out there that will train u in a heartbeat. I made a few phone calls and found my match and started with my new personal one on one trainer the very next morning and paid on the spot for a whole year in advance for all my sessions because of how motivated I was! and I have to tell you it was the best decision ever---i lost 2pounds into my first 1st week training and then several weeks into my training with my new, encouraging, professional, very attentive on the daily, i have lost several pounds more! If u want a trainer that doesn't give up on you no matter what the circumstance is, I suggest you not use Monica! Sorry but not sorry Monica u left me hanging! Not sure if it was an excuse, but It wasn't cool, u don't just take a better opportunity and leave someone hanging after promising her the moon and the stars with ur words of encouragement when ur trying to close out a deal and several hours later into the day u change ur mind... I cannot say enough wonderful things about Monique!! I have known her for a few years now, but I didn't start training with her until my fiancée proposed in November 2015. I train with Monique once a week, for an hour a day, and she has completely transformed my body. I found my wedding dress in December, and, when I went in for my first fitting in May, they had to take it in almost two sizes...TWO SIZES! I didn't want to lose any weight (maybe 2-5 pounds, max), but I wanted to gain muscle tone and look strong and healthy. Monique kept my fitness goals in mind, and she helped me become a beast! People are constantly asking about my weight loss (again, it just redistributed to muscle), and I always tell them that my success comes from Monique. Prior to meeting Monique I had never written a review for a person-let alone twice! But then again, I haven't met very many people in my life like Monique. What makes a person extraordinary? It's when they're already outstanding at what they do but they don't rest on that. In fact, that's what prompted this second review, I didn't think it was possible - but she continues to get better. She never has the attitude that she's already great at what she does and could just keep doing the same thing over again. She never "phones it in," coasts, or is in a bad mood. Monique is an amazing trainer. She personalizes the training sessions to your needs and prior injuries. She is very knowledgeable about body biomechanics and always explains why you are doing each exercise. She is good about offering modifications to avoid injuries.
