I love those rooftop bars, that make you feel like you're the king (queen) of the world without working to hard, you walk into the building and the sign directs you right up, the place is very chic. But- the restaurant that is right next to it cooked fish that day, and the smell that hit my nose was not a nice start. After I got over we tried looking for a place to sit, there were many options - but as the balcony was swarming with smokers I had to stay inside. We sat in front of the the giant window, with a cold beer, and enjoyed the great atmosphere and the spot-on music while watching the sky change their color. These magical moments make me feel really good, and even though it's a bit pricier than an average Berlin bar I do like it a lot. I think it's totally worth it. Go there, at least once. read more

After waiting in line down below for over a half hour then crowding into an overheated elevator, I was so certain that the food or cocktails would be worth the ordeal beforehand. I was disappointed to find that the service was deplorable. The bartenders snapped back to customers asking innocent questions and ignored others waiting for service. The view was great, but the place was crowded and poorly ventilated. All in all, I decided to leave before getting served, as the bartender opted to serve people out of order. The place is pretentious and unforgiving. I felt worse than ignored; I felt actively disrespected. The food and cocktails looked amazing, but my dignity is worth more. Don't even attempt a visit without reservations, which are somehow required and yet arcane in their acquisition. Don't bother with the wait below. Go somewhere else. Go anywhere else. Yummiest sweet potato fries in town. Takes a while to get eye contact with the bartender. Had the fries very quick. Ordered a old fashioned (not on the menu) When I asked for mayonnaise the waiter showed up 5 min after I got my fries and wanted to charge me 1.50€ for a cup of mayonnaise. I was like hey I didn't ask for a pound! She took it away again without any fuzz (hats up!) a moment later another waitress showed up and corrected it was on the house but next time I should say it right away. Say what? Ate here at the Nene Berlin restaurant. Why we went: Bikini Berlin is an amazing spot. Great architecture and fabulous energy. Uber cool. And the top floor of the 25 Hour Hotel boasts an amazing view. So, the choice to check it out was easy. Menu: extremely sexy presentation. Looks amazing. Funky. Nice messaging. Appetizing when looking at it! Views: AMAZING! One word describes all. Great views of Tiergarten, Siegesaulle and the Zoo. At a distance the Reichstag and Tegel take-offs as well. Food: very average. Issue is the nice views, the great looking menu and the nice architecture set up the high expectation. This builds it and for this expectation it is below par. The hummus platter was bad - only the classic hummus was good; the other two were bad experiments! The Caesar salad was average. The beet and carrot salad was just ok. The babaganoush was also just ok. The couscous & caramelised aubergines was very nice. Service: PATHETIC. Very bad. Ordered a bottle of wine and it came 15 mins after the appetizers came to the table - and that too after I reminded them twice for it. Then the bottle was kept in an ice bucket a bit away from our table - clearly not meant for us to pour it ourselves. And, no one came by to refill our glasses. Once I asked for it and got a refill. After that I got up and walked over and filled it myself. This was deeply disappointing. And worse of all was there was never a "real apology" for the repeated flops. That's rude. Price: well, if the food had been good and the service had been of a normal quality, then the price would have been ok. But, for the quality of the food and the service we received and the price paid was way out of the park. A 2-star is being generous! I won't go back to dine. read more

The cocktail was full of sugar and we couldn't feel the taste of the alcohol. When we asked to add some vodka, the waiter said that it has alcohol and if we want to add some more than we need to add 9 Euro's more! You will find college kids, artists, some business people, hipsters and normal people of all ages :) it's a laid back place with occasional events. This is a slick location overlooking Berlin and has some of the best views around. The drinks are decent but over-pitched and over-priced for what they really are (I ordered at the bar and watched them being made... saw two low shelf substitutions for what was advertised as mid-shelf alcohol on our 3 drink order... it must happen a lot). The place is always crowded and with it's view, it should be. Great for watching beautiful, trendy people (50/50 tourists/locals). Come up for a beer, take in the eye candy and then get back to street level for the majority of your drinking. read more

My boyfriend and I came in at around 7 on a Monday night , it's pretty packed but we find a seat. Instead of waiting for a server I saved our seats while my boyfriend went up to the bar to order us drinks. After about 30 MINUTES he walked back with his beer and not my drink. The bartender had him pay then wait 30 MINUTES to tell him that my drink wasn't ready and they just handed him the money back. Absolutely ridiculous. First time I went, I was told I had to wait for at least 30minutes to go upstairs even though friends of mine had a table and were waiting for me and my two other friends. The second time I went was because I heard the view was amazing and friends of mine were there. I was seating at a table but the waitress didn't come so I went to the bar to order. I waited for a long time to finally order. (All the men around me got served and I didn't) I finally placed my order and waited at the bar. After about 15minutes I went back to my table to see all my friends, who had ordered after me had their drinks. I went back to the bar to wait and after 30minutes I asked for my drinks because I was sick of waiting. One of my friends ordered a drink and got his drinks in less than 5minutes. One of the bartenders gave me the smallest glass of water I ever saw and tried to apologise. The bartender I ordered to came up to me and told me it was my fault that I didn't have my drink because I left the bar for a minute! No apologies and they brought me an alcoholic drink instead of my drink without alcohol. I will never go back to this place. Didn't leave a tip even though I always do! read more

I know it's a trendy place now but I see it from a designer's point today view. I just loved that place. The whole Bikini concept but the Monkey Bar also. Fresh, smart, honest. The view of the city is simply amazing and if u go during the day, you can see the monkeys of the zoo playing. In the evening there is a queue to get in. This is another place that I was expecting to be a total tourist trap with expensive, low quality drinks. The bar is actually pretty legit. The cocktails are good, the view is amazing, and the atmosphere inside is great. I got a French spritz (I think that was what it was called) which was perfect for a sunny afternoon. I need to write two reviews one for the attitude and one for the location one is very bad the other great for an early evening drink. So I divided to give it a mediocre. My recommendation go there early it's worth one visit to experience but I will not cue never with a bus loads of Tourists. Drinks are good but it takes long if the place is packed, receiving the bill takes even longer so plan enough time before dinner not to starve. read more
