Michael Santangelo the pastor of the church and one of the secretary's asking for a letter of recommendation for my husband that got detained by ICE. They promised me to send the recommendation to our lawyers office. Never happened. I felt like the church turn their back on my Family on something extremely important for our family. I'm very disappointed. Today Sunday I went again after mass I spoke to Rev. Michael Santangelo , his answer was let us se what we can do. (Meaning is not going to happen) I was on shock by his answer, Unbelievable how can they denied help when God love us equally..... #maybe because we're Spanish I don't know. But I'm not going back to this church .. I'll continue to my previous church who happily help my family with the letter... God bless this church.

The church itself is done "in the round", with the altar in the front edge of the circle, as you walk in the main door. Because of the semi-circular seating setup, almost all the pews feel quite close to the action. A glass fronted crying room is provided in the back for people with crying babies. Plenty of parking and easy access make getting in and getting out, simple. Overall, the congregation is pleasant, but not pushy. Expect a casual greeting, but no formal new visitor recognition.

I went to a Bat Mitzvah yesterday for a co-worker's daughter - the first I'd ever been. This was…read morelike a wedding shindig or something... So the reception was here at the Marlboro Jewish Center. Plenty of parking, I think they had valet if you wanted too. Walked in, the place seemed decent enough; nothing exciting, but nothing bad to speak of. There was a coat check which I thought was good to have, and I think each room could probably handle 100-200 people. Anyway, so they had this reception set up in two separate rooms, and was catered by the center. The first was for the cocktail hour. I was greeted by "Cosmopolitan or Mojito?" when I first walked in. "Why yes, my man, I'll take a mojito." So my colleagues and I grab a table and proceed to the two long rows of appetizers. There was enough food here that I could have made dinner out of it. From sushi, to what looked like sushi but had a flaky bread wrapping and good size hunks of fish, to macaroni, chicken something, beef, breads, some pizza type thing, all kinds of stuff I can't even remember, some of which was new to me- and it was all quite tasty. They also had waiters walking around with more appetizers. And the full bar, which I noticed no one giving, nor did the servers seem to be looking for tips. That was odd, but hey, I'm not gonna complain. "Coffee martini, please? Thanks love." So after a while of that, we're asked to go to the next room, which is where they had the dancing and other fun, and the real meal. Choices were Salmon, Prime Rib and Chicken something. I got the salmon. Yo, I don't know where they caught this sucker but that was one huge chunk of salmon. I was stuffed before I was done, and it was terribly delicious. I heard the same from the others at my table who got the other selections. Dessert looked like a big hunk of chocolate cake was slammed into by a chunk of apple strudel. That would have been awesome, but something tasted funny about the strudel - my bosses husband agreed. I'm not complaining though, the cake was tasty and plentiful. They also had a station for ice cream (of which I indulged) and sno-cones and a chocolate fountain for dipping pretzels and whatnot. All in all I thought the event was awesome, and the catering (which was the best part about it) was handled expertly by the center. I found out later that my co-worker, who's daughter this was for, had her wedding reception here 18 years earlier, and that's why they chose it again because they loved it so much. The food was so good and plentiful that I started having thoughts of marrying into a Jewish family... And to end the evening, out of competition's sake, somehow I ended up on one knee singing Happy Birthday at the feet of the Bat Mitzvah herself. *Score one for Brian's team...
