While we were initially a bit disappointed that some of the items had not been repaired the day we took possession, it turned out that there were legitimate reasons for this and, in fact, they had gone above and beyond the survey list in some regards and installed some brand new equipment. We continued to run into problems with some of the systems as we got to know the boat over the next couple weeks but Yacht Works---Ryan and Hector-- attended to each of them in turn with a fantastic attitude and professionalism. The biggest problem was that the flybridge engine controls were not functioning as they should. They thought that they had repaired this but it turned out that the controls were defective and ultimately had to be sent to the manufacturer in S. Carolina for repair--all at Yacht Works' expense. We had them back in a week's time, installed, calibrated and then a successful sea trial. We were finally able to leave the marina and head down to our more permanent "home" in Marathon. I can not say enough good things about Ryan and Hector whose response to all the issues we encountered was thorough, pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. I can unquestionably recommend this company to anyone interested in a boat purchase or in need of service work.

Dennis Ward is the dedicated, tenacious fighter that I hope you, my fellow Yelper, will never need…read more Alas, as law enforcement officers and their equipment are capable of occasionally making mistakes, and lay witnesses will frequently make mistakes (and lie when it benefits them), I'll pass along my experiences in "The Trench" (OK, it was a beautiful modern courthouse) with Dennis for your consideration. When six participants in an out-of-state child custody proceeding (who had never stepped foot in Florida) were victimized by fraudulent allegations made in a Florida court by a deranged father (who had lost all custodial rights in the out-of-state proceeding), your fellow Yelper promptly dialed away in search of local counsel (central FL). As the first rule of obtaining proper representation is to tell EVERYTHING to your attorney, it was only proper to relate the criminal history of the accuser, his penchant for filing (unsuccessful) Bar Complaints against every attorney who had ever opposed him in his custody proceedings, and his indirect threats of physical violence. After running out of fingers counting the practitioners who wanted no part of the matter (including many former prosecutors), I realized that Dennis Ward was "only" 300 miles away (yes, I am a dreamer). Why Dennis Ward from 300 miles away? The bells had just gone off, rekindling the memories of certain municipal officials (circa late 1990s) using unprintable adjectives to describe their (perceived) adversary, FOP Lodge President Dennis Ward. It took me some time, back then, to realize that the critics simply could not stand a leader who worked his a#s off to fight for his members, and prevent the screwing that might otherwise be coming their way. Having seen how the other side felt, I knew we needed him on our side. After ringing the office and advising Dennis that I had a troubling matter where there was, we believe, a true threat of violence, I was forced to wait at least two full seconds for his considered reply- "when do you need me?" Needless to say, to the victors go the spoils, and to their counsel, go the five star reviews. Dennis sliced and diced Mr. Evil on the stand, and walked out of the court with six cases dismissed with prejudice (a decision so rare that the bailiffs had to add language on every pre-printed Order of Dismissal). We were so impressed with the shutout pitched, that we brought Dennis back for another four hour road trip to (successfully) put down our miscreant in another matter. If you are ever unlucky enough to find yourself in need of a straight talking, hard charging, experienced defense or labor law attorney, Dennis should fit the bill. If you read no further, know that Mike and his team will do the job extremely well and do it right. I am surprised that there are not more reviews on here, but I attribute that to the LeBouef's strong word of mouth business in the Keys and relatively small online presence. I witnessed this first hand, meeting SEVERAL people in Key Largo who went out of their way to vouch for Mike and his incredible reputation. I got to see first hand just how experienced and meticulous Mike is, and even more impressively, what a stand-up guy he is. How was this so clear to me? Well, I was very fortunate to recently purchase a meticulously maintained boat from the LeBoeuf's, and through the process got to know Mike and his lovely wife Lori on a personal level. They are expanding their business and needed to sell the boat. Being a relatively novice boater who recently moved to Key West, I was a skeptical buyer keenly aware of my own inexperience, and I spent a large portion of the long drive up to Key Largo wondering if I would regret not having a professional surveyor accompany me. As it turns out, a surveyor would have been useless as Mike essentially did it all himself, while giving me an education in how to properly survey a boat in the process (e.g. at one point he was literally hanging from the motor while shoving it down to demonstrate the strength of the newly customized transom). We came to an agreement soon after, and my "new" (1987) boat stands as a glowing endorsement to the meticulous work the LeBoeuf's are known for... The story doesn't end there. While on the trip home to Key West with the boat, one of the tires blew on the trailer and I didn't have a spare. It was night-time, and my wife and son were with me. On a whim I texted Mike to let him know our predicament, and Mike and his wife Lori DROVE 45 MINUTES WITH A SPARE TRAILER TIRE AND HELPED ME CHANGE IT (an extra 1+30 ROUNDTRIP ). He didn't have to do that. Money had already exchanged hands, and this boat was no longer his or his responsibility, but he and Lori extended their already long day to help us out for no other reason than that is the kind of people these folks are. My only complaint is that these folks aren't located closer to Key West. People like the LeBoeuf's are hard to find these days; trust them with your boat!
