My room was directly above the refrigeration plant for the kitchen, it started and stopped every 10-15 mins. To make matters worse, the window was broken and wouldn't close. I was told I couldn't be moved anywhere, then was moved at 2 am, by which time I was completely frustrated and so worked up by that time that I didn't sleep till 4 am. I was up again at half 7 and had a 4 hour drive in front of me. I complained to the front desk who insulted me by first trying to argue that the refrigeration plant didn't run at that time, then said since I was moved halfway through the night that everything must have been ok!!! I've never been treated in such a shocking way, after first trying to argue with me I got an artificially sympathetic apology! What a disgusting way to treat loyal patrons.

It's not that it's an actively bad pub, not really. Just that there's nothing good about it. The service is slow and when they finally serve you, they are uncommonly rude. American Gran had some beer or other and announced it 'ghastly', and my red wine was almost undrinkable, and I'll drink pretty much anything. The place is OK inside; the seating is comf enough and despite Alexandra's accounts of grosssness and health and safety contraventions, everything seemed clean. It's just all a bit worn and past its best. I didn't expect any Ibis hotels to have a theme but it was quite cute that this one had a rain theme with the umbrellas on the ceiling and the walls being painted with cute raindrops. As for the rooms, they were very clean. The one thing was that the they were completely out of soap in our room, was surprised they didn't check it before they let us live inside. However, I do have to give the place three stars for its breakfast. We paid extra for it but yet they completely ran out of all foods when we got there. The place was incredibly underfilled and they even didn't have any breads which is literally what these continental breakfast have an abundance of. Was quite disappointed. Would highly recommend this hotel but just don't get the breakfast. As a note, if you want to store your luggage at that place, you do need pay a pound which is not bad but just a good note to have.

The location is excellent and just about a 10 minute walk to everything from Piccadilly to Canal Street. The hotel has complimentary wifi, rooms were well kept and clean, and they have a great breakfast in the morning. My only quibble is I woke up at 2:am because of the singing drunks outside. Remember to keep your windows closed and once you go to bed, you'll be in a heavenly cocoon.
