The company has been under new ownership for the last couple of years or so. They have completely changed their approach to customer service. The quality of service is now what is should be. The ownership has shown a true interest in making sure that they deliver what they promise. Very happy to share that my experience with Mr. Drain was excellent. I wanted to install a back flow valve in my main drain. The team headed up by Mauricio showed up on time and did a great job within a few hours. The concrete floor was thicker than expected but they handled the job with experience and professionalism. They left the job looking clean and neat. I highly recommend using this company. read more

Avoid This Company at All Costs This company has a terrible reputation in Quebec and is currently under investigation by the RBQ due to numerous complaints. The RBQ is even considering suspending or terminating their license. According to an agent from Intact Insurance, this company has a long history of disputes with customers, primarily due to charging significantly higher prices than market rates. They mislead clients by claiming insurance will cover the cost, which is often not true. Their contracts are filled with hidden clauses designed to make customers lose money once work begins. They pressure you into signing, and once you do, it becomes difficult to back out without serious financial loss. It appears the owner spends more time in court fighting with unhappy customers than actually running the business properly. This company operates unethically and seems to profit by creating legal battles with clients. Stay away. read more

Horrible experience with this company. Informed them of issue (clearly expressing plumber used snake and did not unclog), they reassured me they will resolve issue using aquapressure will charge 350$ for it. People came as scheduled, tried using snake to unclog drain, I told them this had been tried and did not work, they said they would try anyways. Finally it did not work, they said another team would come, took money and no one came back, I followed up and boss said he will call and never did. Save your money and go elsewhere! read more

Do not hire Monsieur Drain! They will take your money and run! They said that The Condo Association needs to fix things but then decided to change the story! I am now being manipulated by the Condo Association who does not want to inspect this problem and the plumbers who do not want to get involved. However, when Monsieur Drain was at my house they were telling me that they would speak to the Condo Association about this problem. This was told to me after I paid them $800. SCAM artists. Avoid at all costs. I had same experience as previous reviewers:They don't make an effort to clean the drain. Instead they try to convince you that the drain needs completely replacing (excavation job). They are looking to con you into paying for a more expensive (unnecessary) job Over a year ago, called them for a drain cleaning. Over the phone i insisted on them cleaning it with high pressure water. A few years ago, I had a previous blocked drain issue, after multiple attempts with router (cutting heads), i found high pressure water was the only way to get it cleaned. So i knew it was only with water pressure that the drain could be cleaned. When they arrived, they told me that they would use the router to clean it. They said water pressure is no good. Although thats not what we agreed on before. During the cleaning process, the guy was being over dramatic, ex: "F*ing drain is collapsed, i cant go on"..for people with experience, i would expect them to handle a simple drain cleaning. Long story short: they didnt clean the drain. They said the drain was collapsed, they couldnt do anything else. They said that it had to be excavated and changed. And by chance, they offered that service at a price of $8000. I paid them for their time. Called someone else to do the water pressure clean out. That was over a year ago, drain is working fine and i didnt have to pay for a big drain repair. read more

I had a terrible experience with this company, just before the COVID-19 pandemic. I called Monsieur Drain on a Friday afternoon because by central drain was blocked. A team of 2 junior plumbers arrived on time and tried to unblock the drain. They had a hard time and after about 30 minutes, and with the use of a camera, they concluded that there was a structural problem and it was impossible to do their job. They charged me $ 400 in cash and told me that their supervisor would contact me to arrange a site visit with a plumber and give me an estimate for the big structural job (including breaking a concrete wall) that needed to be done in order to resolve the issue. I was disappointed but waited for the phone call. After waiting at least 2-3 hours, I tried to reach the supervisor myself. He told me he was busy over the weekend and would contact me after Monday. However, he kept me on hold for the weekend in case he would find time. I became suspicious, especially because my problem required an urgent solution. Therefore, I contacted another company. They came on Monday morning and unblocked the drain immediately. They explained me that Monsieur Drain didn't use the right equipment. There was no structural problem, they were just incompetent and lacked the appropriate equipment. I was very upset with all this and also the fact that I wasted $ 400. I contacted the Director of Monsieur Drain and asked to charge me $ 100 for the service call and return me $ 300 out of the $ 400 I paid them; this would be a fair solution. At the beginning he didn't want to hear about it but after talking over the phone he seemed to be receptive and requested to contact the other company that fixed the problem, to clarify the technical details. I gave him the phone number, and I also convinced the guy from the other company to speak to the Monsieur Drain Director over the phone. However, after several attempts to finalize an agreement, I realized that the Director was just trying to buy time and let this thing fade away, especially during the COVID-19 lockout. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY FROM MONSIEUR DRAIN. I hope that this negative publicity will make them lose much more money from potential customers than the $ 300 I requested as reimbursement for their poor service. read more

We hired this company in May 2018, to clean supposedly every single sink and drain in the whole building. We have 17 small drain and two pits and a main drain. As I remember they only did two small drain 1 pit and the main drain going to the city drain. August is not still ending and two kitchen sink are already clogged. I wonder how these people make a living by cheating clients. So if ever you are thinking of hiring this company, please stay with them while they work so that they will do their job properly. That is why I got 2 drains cleaned properly. But after I left them to do the job.... poorly done .... they did not the job rather. From A to Z, we had a great experience with Mr Drain. I'd used them a couple of times to flush a major clog. They always came right away and never made the job more than it was. More recently, a section of my sewer was replaced, and it was a crazy job through a strange space but they did it and really well. They have the machines necessary to do jobs in strange old buildings, and their plumbers are top-notch, tidy and always actually working, and the price was very fair. I've been a landlady a long time, and I come from a family of trades people, so I know from experience that they are far superior than most plumbing companies operating in Montreal. read more

Would never call again or refer anyone to Monsieur Drain. Our experience with Monsieur Drain has left us feeling extremely ripped off. We called Monsieur Drain after finding them on the internet for a google search. What a mistake. Here is why: We purchased a new house and there was a hole in the Drain Stack pipe, (needed to be fixed asap). I had a quote from Pur Plumbing for $205+tax (who was a delight to deal with, they came for the inspection and wrote up a quote for the repair necessary). They couldn't fix it because it was not our house yet. We tried to get them to fix the issue but they were not available for the repair on the day we purchased the house. So, Monsieur Drain was called and given a description of the issue. They sent in their representative. He was a little rough around the edges but I could manage. The power was out at the time, and well he decided to wait. (Of course we pay by the hour). Then he decided to go to Rona to purchase the parts needed for the repair. (um ok, guess he didn't have them in the truck?... still paying by the hour). He returns and says I can't work without power, but I can tape it for you and that should fix it temporary. He knocks over shelves that are in the area because he needs more space, almost rips the light from the ceiling doing so. (At this point I was frustrated that he was going to do a very temporary fix and knocked over the shelves that had empty glass wine bottles in them that I'll need to clean up when this guy leaves.) So he goes to the pipe wraps it very sloppy with Tuck Tape. Then writes me a bill for $262.14. (Charges me for the tape and 1.5 hours). (Wait.. he could see well enough to tape the pipe but not fix it? why didn't this guy have a flashlight or battery powered tools if he wanted more light?) I discussed the situation with my wife and we called Monsieur Drain feeling completely ripped off by this very negative person with no respect for our home. The person on the phone apologizes and tells us that they can send him back but won't charge us for Labor. So very hesitantly we agree. He comes back, fixes the issue then charges us another $266.74 which included another 1.5 hrs of labor. I contacted the same person who told us about the free labor and was told "I'm sorry but there really isn't anything I can do" as if there was a misunderstanding. Monsieur Drain will never come back to my home and would suggest you avoid using them as well. We have dealt with two other Plumbing companies since then and they were both very pleasant to work with, and even after paying $500, I feel that I was getting what I paid for. read more

This company as the previous reviewer said is a total disaster. I absolutely agree with the Patricia, so don't fall for their consumer choice award narrative. It's all BS. And don't trust the testimonials on their website, that's a number one marketing strategy to trap gullible clients like myself. Now having experienced their service myself and after spending few thousand dollars for a total mess and unfinished business that took over a year including follow ups, I had to finally resort to another plumbing company that took care of the job in just two visits. And of course that meant dishing out another few thousand dollars extra to fix the mess "Mr. Drain" had left behind and for rectifying the original issues as well. With "Mr. Drain" I was so disappointed and appalled that I felt cheated and disrespected. So, I'm warning all of you who are considering taking their service to be cautious and be aware of their marketing tactics. At the end of the day, I've seen them work and they are literally bunch of young unprofessional apprentice who are loud and obnoxious, they curse each other all day long in their native language, and are lazy and takes ten minutes cigarette break for every half an hour of work. If you don't believe me, when you hire them, ask for their licences when they come in, none of them has one except few senior plumbers who are strategically distributed around the city busy starting another job. And once they get the contract, they sent few unprofessional apprentice (mostly family members) to finish the job and the senior if lucky comes on site and gives instructions at best. All in all, "Mr Drain"'s service is horrible and I would not recommend to anyone. As I said earlier they are bunch of unprofessional people, mostly apprentice with zero work ethics, lazy, out of shape and has no respect for the profession. Beware of Monsieur Drain, I used their services for drain cleaning and required an emergency excavation. Their website and customer service skills are their strong suits.Always telling you not to worry they will take care of it. However the quality of the work they do, the follow up and what they say vs what they do is another story. I am still recovering from the work that they did or more like what they said they would do and did not. So do yourself a favor, don't fall for their consumer choice awards,, the selling job they do or the 100% satisfaction guarantee.
