On Tuesday at 4:27 We scheduled a move out cleaning for Friday May 25th and carpet cleaning on Thursday May 24th with Monster Carpet and Cleaning for our move out Friday May 25th at 3:30pm.
Thursday May 24th Monster calls telling me he has cleaned the carpets and wanted to do a walk through with me or my husband at our final out of housing on Friday 25th at 3:30pm. That evening me and my husbsnd see there are still stains on the carpet we call Monster he says he will come back Friday to clean the stain spots. We express concern because the carpet needs to be completely dry before our inspection Friday. But we were very thankful he was coming back to get the stains.
Friday May 25th I call Monster Carpet and Cleaning to insure the cleaning crew and spots would be done in time. Monster tells me he doesn't have a cleaning crew to clean our house at a little before noon. But he assure us he is going back to the house to get the stains from the carpet. He calls me at 1240 to ask me to come for a walk through with them. During this exchange he changes his story about the stains several times. First he says when I pointed out a stain he could use a $50 dollar solution to get out the stains if he had more time. I rold him we didnt have time and reminded him he had been working on the carpet for two day and why he didn't have the tools need to get the job done. ( he came to the house in a blue hummer with a bissll unlike a reputable cleaning company that come in a van with professional tools) I told him we had no problem paying the $50 dollar for the cleaning solution. Then he said he would charge us $50 per square foot. Which was still cheaper than replacing all the carpets in our house for 5 stain spots. He told me he couldn't do that in time. So my husband refused to pay him. He didn't have the tools to clean our carpet like he guaranteed he would and his cleaning crew never showed up. Then he told my husband all he needed was a receipt from Monster showing the work was done and Fort Bliss Housing will not charge you for the stains. Which we did not believe. The changing story, the missing cleaning crew, lack of communications and the all you need is a receipt story all seemed like a red flag to me. We refused again to pay him. Then Monster told me our best option was to pay him and replace to carpet going against the all you need is a recite comment he had just told my husband 2 mins earlier. Again we refused to pay him than he told me he was going to tell our leasing agent that the carpet needed to be replaced at our 3:30 walk through. I was flabbergasted and felt very threatened. It felt like Monster was telling us to pay me or I will tell housing you need to replace the carpet. Again we refused. At 2:50 a female that works for Monster Cleaning parked in front of our house waiting for our leasing agent. Again, in disbelief I called the Military Police and told then the threat they had given us earlier and we wanted them gone. The Mp's showed up as your leasing agent arrived. Without even speaking with us the male leasing agent goes over and greets the woman who works for Monster Cleaning Company. They laugh as if they know one another. I ask one of the MP's what's going on they tell me they leasing agent and the female with Monster Cleaning know one another. Then our leasing agent and the female that worked for Monster Cleaning Company walk into our house together without us. Then they came our and told us we need to pay to replace the carpet. Then when my husband tried to explain to the agent what happened with Monster and Monsters aggressive threats fell on deaf ears. It's my understanding Balfour Beatty uses Monster Carpet and Cleaning for some of there housing carpet cleaning. That relationship played a huge role in why we were charged for carpeting. If Monster had not said "if he had more time he could get the stains out with a special enzyme" that would cost more I would not have been upset or suspicious. But, because Monster carpet and cleaning said he could get the stains out and then told housing the carpet need to be replace because he wasnt paid is crappy business practice. If a company is over extended they shouldn't take on more jobs than they are equipped to handle. You need to be able to do quality work and show up. This whole experience costed us a 1,000 dollars. read more
