Pooh and I stayed here for the first leg of our two week vacation…read more The hotel itself is nice. We had a king bed room and the breakfast buffet and spa were included. We didn't get to the spa but the buffet was delicious and had a lot of variety. Our room had a spacious patio equipped with a table and chairs. It also had a small kitchen with a small fridge and microwave. What we liked were the dining table, dishes and utensils. There is also a sink and extra garbage and recycling bags. The coffee maker is a (wide pod) Nespresso. Two pods daily are included if you want additional pods they are 3$ each. We went to the grocery store and bought a box of pods it was much cheaper. The bathroom was big. It housed a big waterfall type shower and a jacuzzi tub. The toilet is in a separate space in the bathroom. It had a double sink. The water pressure was on point. The tv was big; at least 60" and has outlets for Apple TV or Fire Stick. Both sides of the bed had a big table which we appreciated because we both have CPAPs and we had a fireplace which gave the room added charm. We did try the steak restaurant but will not include it in this review because it was a disappointment.

I came here on December 28th after having bought a ticket for December 25th. Sadly it was 14 degrees on the 25th so they had to close the hill. Rather than make us reserve for a new date, they allowed all those who had tickets to come on another day without a reservation! They sell a limited number of tickets to ensure proper distancing. You have to reserve a ticket on their website so it is difficult to spontaneously decide to go skiing. Located about 1 hour from Montreal, there is ample parking spots right across the street from the hill. Getting our tickets was easy and the employees were friendly. The bistro was open for takeout but you can't eat inside. We didn't buy anything so I can't comment on that. You can use the bathrooms but must bring a mask (a balaclava/neck warmer does not suffice). When we were there, 7 runs were open and the conditions were good! Almost no lines for the chair lifts and plenty of room to keep your distance. One of the chair lifts doesn't have the metal piece to rest your skis on so your legs kind of just dangle in the air. I felt a bit unsafe on this lift and I think it's due to be replaced! Overall, wonderful day skiing at Sommet Gabriel

Came here for the brunch, it used to be a beautiful lively dining room with an incredible view on the lake. Only in the past years they basically abandoned he project all together... the place is really outdated, needs significant work. Staff is undertrained... out of 6 cups on the table, 1 had lipstick on it the other one was basically previously used. 28$ for brunch, very little choices... again a bad representation of what it used to be... there used to be a huge brunch, a piano man and a singer, a fountain of chocolate, name it. Now nothing... it's too bad. You walk in the hotel and there is nobody at the front desk, gives you an idea... clearly terrible management. And the chairlift that connects the ski resort to the hotel is out of order... I think it's another bad management decision not to fix it... people would be more interested in staying for the night, for a drink, for a meal if the chairlift was still functioning. My 2 cents, invest in the place, make it what it used to be and people will come...
