It's a nice walk. Mostly through the woods. You will also pass through a horse pasture, where you can get close to the animals if you feel like. The hike goes on until Geneva if you feel like it. We only walked a smaller section around Hermance with our dog. It was nice walking through the quiet woods here. You can park your car at the southern end of town on a big parking lot. From there you just go to town and then uphill (east) to reach this hiking trail.

But you could also sit down (and/or picknick) on the nice lawn. There's also a beach, in case you don't mind cold water. A great spot to enjoy an evening stroll. Lifts for kids from the start to telecombi to go to the top for the parents. Hotels on site, rental places, shops to buy ski clothes and newspaper, just enough to survive for a week! Not a village, just a place to go skiing. But you can go to Mijoux by telesiege in less than 5 minutes to visit the nearest village. While kids at ski, you can enjoy skiing as well, or rent 'raquettes' and walk nicely on marked trails. Enjoy the walk, alone in the middle of the forest. Absolutely ressourcing.

There are 3 parcours in the trees, one for small kids from 4 to 8 or more years old, it is a good start to take confidence, and 2 parcours for adults (4m high and 10m high). After a putting on a safety vest, you will be iven a short security talk on how to behave on the parcours. Nothing difficult but common sense rules, required to have fun afterwards. You will walk through tyroliennes, still and moving bridges, fun nets, and other fun structures to cross. We had a lot of fun, not only with our 2 kids (6 and 8 years old) but as adults on the higher parcours. A little rest area is available and usual sweets can be purchased. Only sugary drinks, not much there to say. Easy parking and great location to spend an afternoon as a family or as a group of friends. You can celebrate birthdays.

To chill out and relax you should head to the Quai d'Hermance. It's not a big area, but a nice and quiet spot for a picnic and a short walk. You can walk along the lake for a little while (it gets quite narrow to the south). It's a nice village and if you look for a relaxing place without all the crowds, then this is for you. We liked it.

Even beyond the waterside views, however, the park itself provides a nice green space with opportunities for tranquility in spite of the crowds of people who visit at any given time. The lakeside walking path is often full of joggers, walkers and cyclists. But that should absolutely not be a deterrence. It's a wonderful place to chill for a while, especially on a nice weather day.

A brief walk brings you to the most fantastic amount of water rushing out of the side of the hill. Then you can retrace your steps and try and follow the river as it hurtles through Divonne, picking up more water from the springs in the car park of the Casino. Children are fascinated.
