After 20 months of attempting to get this project underway, and simply not hearing back from local tree services in Albert lea, we reached out to Thate's Tree service, out of Fairmont, and were thrilled to finally have our backyard project underway after nearly 2 years of waiting on other tree service companies. I had a large limb break, and another cracked, on an easily accessible tree. Mike quickly responded and came to remove the broken limbs and to do a prune. After removing the largest broken limb and doing the prune. I paid for the service but noted one limb was still up there cracked and ready to fall. Plus the debris was piled right next to the fire hydrant, blocking it. He said he'd return the next day but did not. Several days later the work was still not completed. Contacted Mike and he promised to be out the next day. Next day has come and gone and still the rest of the work has gone unfinished, and the debris pile remains.

We did not know exactly what we wanted done, but we provided John with the basics and he took care of the rest. He informed us of his recommendations before hand, and let him and his amazing crew do their thing. Our yard looks amazing! They not only trimmed trees, removed trees and ground up stumps, they cleaned up after themselves and did not leave a mess. They even took the time as they were working to talk to us and explain everything they were doing and why. We have a tree that would die if trimmed in the hot weather (we had no idea), so John said he would come back this winter to trim that one! POOR customer care (although Brian brags about that very thing on their website.) As a result of their dropped ball (its now post May holiday & the trees leafed out weeks ago) we will hire their competitor to treat our Ash trees, AND continue to advise others NOT to use Carr's.
