(Jan 2020) Last day in Barcelona and I had already explored the entire city, what else to do? I decided to go a little bit further and check this place out. No regrets. The price is €4 to go all the way up. The coolest thing was being able to go to the very stop, but it was quite scary. I am not afraid of heights, but I had to said it was really high up and windy and even I got scared for a bit. Will not recommend to people who are afraid of heights to go all the way to the top (through the spiral stairs). But if you do decide to go up there, and there is very little space at the top, the view is definitely worth it. You get to see Barcelona in its entirety. read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 - 100/100 !! In honor of reaching the summit of the Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 here's a review about getting to the top of the mountain. Nothing can stop you when you're all the way up. I am paraphrasing, of course, former Kardashian beau French Montana. But you'll be pardoning your French when you're up here and exclaiming at just how high you are and what beautiful panoramic views you're experiencing. This is one of the highest locations in Barcelona and you need to go through an antique church to reach the summit. You have to take a funicular train to get up to the hill where the church is located. First you walk through a decades old small amusement park. But once in the church there's levels to it. If you want to get to the absolute top where the statue is located, you'll need to pay 3 euros to take the lift and then climb multiple stairs up. It's worth it for the views. Overall, if you're on a time crunch this is maybe one you can skip but we enjoyed our short trip here. read more

Placed on one of the highest locations in Barcelona, gives you amazing vies of the city. There is an old and a new church built and both are great to see. In addition threes a small amusement park that allows visitors to spend a good time of the day in this location. In addition there is a very exclusive hotel up there were the Barcelona football team gets to stay when they are in off season training. A must visit if you are in Barcelona. read more

Tibidabo is the highest point in Barcelona - after a morning chilling in Park Guell, we figured it would be an awesome place to spend the afternoon. And we were not dissappointed. To get there, either walk for miles (which we did - it was a beautiful day!), or get the train, followed by the funicular train up the side of the hill. The funicular is great fun and gets you some awesome views - all of which are completely surpassed by the views of all Barcelona at the top of Tibidabo. It's also home to the weirdest littlle funfair I've ever seen. Oh, yeah, and a big church the locals hate but tourists love - design is based on the Sacre Couer in Paris. We didn't go in the church, but we took a nice leisurely stroll all round it before heading back down the hill. Oh, and it's easier to sing the word Tibidabo. Seriously. We did. For days after, too! read more

At the top of Peu del Funicular, perched on the edge of the square, virtually hanging over the city, is Tibidabo. What matters is the view. The overhead view of the interior of the city and the Mediterranean Sea beyond is simply breathtaking. It's a privileged city that is able to offer its citizens and visitors such spectacular views of itself. Sometimes smog hangs over it, marring the experience somewhat. Sundays are invariably more luminous as traffic diminishes substantially. On a sunny day, about one o'clock here is the best possible preparation for a proper feast back down in the city later. read more

I LOVED the trek up to get to Tibidabo. Riding the Tramvia Blau (blue tram) and the funicular was a lot of fun and gave me plenty of photo opportunities (which I unfortunately didn't take!).. and with Tibidabo being the highest point in Barcelona, the view once you got to the top was pretty sweet. We didn't go for the amusement park (which I don't even recall being open when I went).. just for the Sagrada Corazon, which was based on the Sacre Coeur in Paris and a Gothic style basilica. Okay, we also went because I kinda loved having the excuse to say "Tibidabo" multiple times. (Whatever, I'm only lame sometimes!) So glad I can scratch Tibidabo off my list and can't wait to do this trip again with my daughter when she's a little older. read more

If your time is limited in Barcelona, I give you permission to forego a trip to Tibidabo. If, however, you've spent more than half a year there, then there's no excuse not to have gone. We didn't take the funicular up to the top, thinking it wasn't worth the €. Instead, we walked/hiked the entire way. I will tell you now: it is probably worth the money for the funicular. You save yourself from getting lost and save even more time round-trip. The view from the top is great, but Barcelona isn't particularly known for its skyline. The smog is disenchanting, so try to go when it's clear and crisp outside. Like others have said, the rides are mainly for kids. If mass is not in session, you can peek inside the cathedral. You can see the Torre de Collserola, which alongside Tibidabo, is an icon of beautiful Barcelona also. It's a good place to pass the day wandering with camera in hand. Bottom line: Mount Tibidabo is another notch under your Barcelona belt, and if you're living there, you've got to go. If you're just visiting for a few days, I would opt out of Tibidabo to spend another day exploring the city itself. read more

This is the mountain right next to Barcelona that you can see from many spots in the city, and if you love high views as I do, this is the place to go. Getting up Mount Tibidabo is a bit of a trek, but you can basically take the L7 on the Metro to Avenue Tibidabo (the last stop) and then follow the group of obvious tourists to the tram stop across the street. You'll take this up to the Funicular at the bottom of the mountain, and this final cable car will take you to the top. There is a theme park at the top of the mountain, which is fun, but I went for the gorgeous views. For the most breathtaking view, go into the basilica and take the two-euro lift to the top! read more

Great view! Although not all the attractions were open the day we went up there. DON'T take the blue tram up the hill. It does not take you all the way (it just takes you to a bus stop where you have to pay for the teleferic anyway) so you just end up spending 12€ in transportation only. read more

Long, beautiful hike with views of the city. At the top you have the amusement park among the thin clouds (closed when I visited at night). Popular mountain for cyclists. Watch out for boars! read more

This is my favorite spot in all of Barcelona!!! We did not got to the actual amusement park to ride the rides, but it has breathtaking views of the city. If you go around sunset, there are benches on the backside of the church where you can sit and have picnic and also watch amazing sunset. I strongly suggest Tibidabo to everyone I know visiting Barcelona, and they have all fallen equally in love. read more
