My kids had a day off from school so I decided to book a tour to SugarLand Fire Station #1 (across…read morefrom the Sugar Factory and by the post office). The tour took about 15 mins. One of my son wants to be a fire fighter when he grows up, so this was something he really enjoy. There were 4 fire fighters at the station (1 was the lieutenant). Sorry I don't everyone name but Fernando. They were all extremely nice, attentive,and informative . At the end of the tour, my sons received some stickers and a fire hat. We were able to take some pictures. This was very educational for my sons. This is something they will talk about in class. Thank you SugarLand Fire fighters for all your hard work keeping the city of SugarLand safe. This was very educational for my children.

They were very polite, but they offered no resources for us to go to for our immediate communities,…read morewho live less than a mile away from station 11 who had no phone, no power, no Internet, no access to contact emergency services- whose homes heated up to 91 degrees-4 days post-tornado, other than saying, " go to HEB to cool off". Our elderly were afraid to drive with all the traffic lights out and could not drive in the dark at night. I thanked them for their fire services and left to go look for help for my community elsewhere, I didn't know what to expect from the local fire department, but I was hoping for more compassion-guess they only deal with fires.
