I remembered it fondly as having lovely grounds and a small collection of interesting historical exhibits. Well, it still has beautiful grounds and some historical exhibits, but now most of its space is devoted to the work of local artists. It currently hosts colorful yarn sculptures that appear almost organic. Their beauty is enhanced by the diverse shapes and colors the artist chose for each grouping. It's a display that can be enjoyed by people of any age, and it's small enough that children won't get bored. The museum is free to visit, so anyone can enjoy what it has to offer. Great variety of sandwiches, desserts and a scone. The caterer did a fabulous job with the food prep. I'm not a fan of macarons so that was the only item I didn't taste. The chicken sandwich was the only one that was missing something, but it still tasted very good. They host teas during the week and on one Saturday each month. The weekend dates sell out pretty fast. Definitely worth a try! And parking is right there so you can get decked out for your tea experience and not have to worry about walking too far!

It is modern, clean, wheelchair and easy to access, with ample parking - including open lots and a garage, and numerous handicapped spots. The facility has gender specific rest rooms and also a gender neutral family rest room. Before the event that we came for, the snack bar was open - with surprisingly well-priced sodas, beer and wine, and snack items. We came for the David Russell classical guitar concert - part of the John E. Marlow Guitar Series - on a Saturday evening. Wow! He is absolutely amazing - and offered a flawless and entertaining and mesmerizing and calming 2+ hours of music! Before the concert, we were treated to a discussion about the music in a one of the many rooms available for lectures and gatherings. We also were treated to bonus content during the concert - including a performance by the youth winner of a classical guitar concert and a proclamation presentation from the Montgomery County Council - recognizing 25 years of this type of programming initiated by and in honor of the Marlow family. The auditorium space was large and comfortable, with no poor seating anywhere - including the wheelchair section (great view, about a third of the way back in the theatre style seating). What a great space and place for appreciating and learning and celebrating culture and art - and life.

I used that as an opportunity to visit, and I got to explore the rest of the store. They're located in that random giant industrial area that runs alongside Route 1 on the side where the train tracks are. It can definitely be easy to miss, and parking in the lot itself is quite limited. The adjacent street allows parking too, but sheesh it gets crowded. The vintage store is bigger than it may appear from the outside, and there's truly a LOT to sort through. Furniture, trinkets, pillows... you name it, they have it. There were some small tables and stools that almost found a home with me, but I was like... where am I going to put these things?! My kitchen is already being to be overloaded, and I rather not have that same energy rippling through the rest of the house. I ended up seeing this beautiful and vintage black and gold highball and shaker set that fit my bar / living room space really well, and I couldn't resist. I haven't been back in a while, but I'm sure if I returned I'd find something else neat. We'll see!
