It makes for a very pleasant hour or two of strolling, sampling, and shopping! There's jewelry, bags, artwork, kids' toys and clothes, and lots of other random stuff - there's even a stand selling refurbished bikes. The Crepes At The Market guys who you probably know from Eastern Market set up shop on the street corner, and right next to them are Migue's Magnificent Mini Donuts, whose name is completely accurate. I've also seen things like cheeses, veggies, and jellies in the farmers' market area, where there's often live music blasting from a big stage. Fabulous place to enjoy Saturday sunshine!

The crepe guy was here too! My friend bought a really cute knit baby sweater and since it was the end of the day and the last event for the season, she got it for about 30% less. Burning Down the House is a nice place for some casual painting experience with friends. The…read morebuilding is fairly small and the parking is limited but we've certainly come back because of the positive experience. The times we've gone, it's been pretty chill and quiet with only a few other groups painting. There's light background music playing. The owner is friendly, helpful, and accommodating when making reservations or picking colors for your masterpiece. There are about 8 tables inside and one outside that you could paint at. The place setting is put out for you (palette tile, sponge, water) and you get to choose the brushes and paint colors that you'd like to use. There are shelves with various types of items you can paint (bowls, cups, pencil holders, figurines, vases, and the list goes on). There are also examples provided on the shelves to provide you with inspiration. Typically, you pick up the item within a week.

The building used to be a stable that has beautifully renovated. It definitely has farmhouse touches with the wood, faux pocket doors and rustic touches. There is a reception area on the main floor where there was coffee(I love it already!) and refreshments. There is accessible parking out front and an elevator for those who may need it to get to the theater upstairs. The theater is small and intimate with 99 seats. I wanted to take pictures of the theater, but they were doing panel discussions and I just didn't feel comfortable snapping pictures during such a thoughtful process. As I understand it, they also provide services to the community around art in the form Of classes, discussions and even camps for the kids. So yes. . . Gaithersburg has begun to grow on me even though I live in Southern Maryland. I live over an hour away but I didn't mind the drive. I would definitely come back again.
