My husband and I have been searching for a church in the NYC/Westchester area for one year now, and we were about to give up looking when my husband decided to check for something in NJ and found Church at Bergen! We watched a prior week's sermon and were both so blessed by Pastor Mike's down-to-earth yet passionate exposition of the Scripture! We attended in person today and had the same experience, along with beautiful singing in the worship service, a meaningful communion time, and a segment committed to Bible memory. My teenage son and I met Pastor Rick and his wife, Claudette, in our apartment building. They were…read morevery kind and met us to pray for us through difficult times, after the doorman introduced us to them. We decided to visit their church. Everyone was very kind, friendly and welcoming. The pastor led the service in prayer. The youth were engaged in playing guitars and singing religious songs. They also had guest speakers from a religious ministry program that does outreach to francophone West African immigrants in NYC. Thereafter, the pastor invited us to join the congregation in a potluck dinner. They hold such dinners once a month where worshippers get to share a meal and get to know each other over a meal. We were amazed to find that some people have been members of the congregation for 20 years! Also congregation members are of various ethnic groups - Caucasian, African American, African, Latino and Asian as well as mixed. They invited us to return to their church for regular service as well as additional prayers. Thank you, Pastor Rick and Ms. Claudette! Oh. I forgot to mention that the church is in a delightful little White House shared by other churches with service in Spanish, Chinese and Korean.

Lead pastors ooze love & hospitality. This church truly embodies the Bible verse John 13:34-35 where Jesus tells people to love one another. Oh and they have plenty of parking which to me is what can be an absolute deal breaker at many churches I've visited (at least for me). If you live within 25 mins of here, I highly recommend visiting. This is borderline a medium to large sized congregation but not exactly a mega church.
