Infants to elementary school kids have have their class rooms with wonderful teachers. I visited Christ Church over the holiday season and was immediately hooked! The people were so…read moreinviting and welcoming! I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. The congregation is beautifully diverse, and so is the ministerial staff. The music is uplifting, the message is powerful, and I always leave feeling inspired and loved. The Christmas show was absolutely fantastic, which led me to attend a regular Sunday morning service. It lasted just under 90 minutes, and I left feeling empowered, like I could conquer the world. I've been back several times since, and each visit somehow tops the last! Like others have mentioned, the only downside is parking. It's in downtown Montclair, which can get busy. I usually park at a nearby school a couple of blocks away and walk over which is not ideal for everyone, but it works for me. There's some limited street parking, but the best strategy is to attend the first morning service at 9 a.m. and arrive around 8:15-8:30. That way, you can usually snag a spot nearby. Overall, I have little to no complaints. Christ Church offers so much -- life groups, a children's ministry, a teen ministry, a marriage ministry -- so many opportunities to connect and grow. I truly feel at home here and look forward to returning again and again

They need to stop shining the three lights directly above the TV monitor on the stage of this…read morechurch DIRECTLY INTO THE AUDIENCES EYES. These lights are very bright and blinding and the church shines them directly into everyone in the pews eyes literally blinding them so that noone can even look towards the stage without going through eye torture and scarring. That is why noone in the pews (especially the center pews) can even look towards the stage without being literally blinded with blind spots immediately forming. That is why everyone has to look down that is sitting in the front or they look at the TV to the side rather than being blinded. It is absolutely absurd. Even the TV monitor in the q room is flashing and blinding. Noone should have to go blind to go to church. There is absolutely no reason for these three bright stage lights specifically to be shining directly towards everyone in the audiences eyes . The only reason I can even think of is so that they can see peoples faces for their video that noone consented to be in!!!! I will not be returning to this selfish church because I will not go blind its definetely not worth it. They could be doing a lot more for all the people that attend this church besides maken them go blind like some cops with three giant flashlights in your face for no reason. Would love to see a surge in more people in my age group and build a bigger diversity pool. Pastor Charlie and Pastor Jan Rizzo ( siblings ) have very different preaching styles and both leave you thinking and feed your soul for the week. I really felt nourished by both the Word delivered and the music played by one man on a guitar. It was all so wonderful and homey. The congregation is small and so so genuine. They have lunch provided by a member of the congregation directly after service followed by a wonderful bible study around 1pm. The service is at 10:30am. I highly recommend this church! We will certainly be back when we visit our friend! They were so so welcoming and sweet.

The sermons are not your typical topical sermons. They are gospel-focused, teaching through the whole Bible and not skipping around random verses every week. The children's pastor is also so great with the kids; feels like a real family. My kids love going to church every Sunday. I attended a large mega-church for 9 years, but have definitely grown more spiritually at this smaller church. If you are looking for a church where you can really grow spiritually, and be part of a church family and not be ignored, this is the church for you!
