Sue did our taxes for about 10 years, and out of those 10, messed them up three years in a row,…read moreresulting in us owing over $7000 in additional taxes, fees and penalties. The first year she messed up-2020, she blamed it on a software glitch. She offered an apology, but no refund of any kind. We were very understanding and didn't say a word, just paid the additional money due. The second year she messed up-2022, she tried to blame her software again, but after looking back at emails, realized it was the same mistake. It wasn't a glitch, the software auto-populated numbers, and she failed to double check her work before submitting. She again, offered only an apology and said she "would try to remember the next year". I told her "trying" was unacceptable-that we had paid her for a service and had a reasonable expectation that the service be done correctly. I told her it was disappointing that she didn't at least offer to refund us the money we paid her ($410 in 2020 and $475 in 2022) to do our taxes. She didn't even bother to respond to my email. We hired a new CPA to do our taxes for 2023, so I thought the issues were over. Imagine my surprise this year to receive an audit notice for 2021. After submitting the information requested in the audit, we received a notice that *surprise* our taxes were done incorrectly and we owed thousands of dollars. AGAIN. At this point, we reached out to her. She AGAIN blamed it on her software. She did send us the money for penalties and fees (per her agreement) but we still owed several thousand dollars because of her failure to check her work. I am amazed at the poor customer service and failure to take accountability for the SAME mistake she made 3 years in a row. My husband has sent three emails requesting a refund for the $1360 we paid her to do our taxes for those three years, and, of course, has not received a response. I would advise everyone to steer clear of her business as the customer service is severely lacking!

When I emailed back to complain and request a refund for the poor service, the man Matt Mann himself responded scolding ME for daring to suggest they had done anything wrong. Now I have even more in penalties to pay that I could have AVOIDED by just not going to MMCPA.
