Fender bumper replacement replaced bumper cover saw melted spot on bumper cover later when I complained they called it a dent with no scratches in the paint and refused to make it right it was clearly melted and painted over in the shop or too close to a heat source in the shop also went in had great air-conditioning came out not working they will not take care of complaints without giving any number of excuses they do great work but mistakes happen its how you handle the complaints at this point in my opinion recommend you stay away from this insurance company preferred shop read more

I called Moody's because of minor rust on both door panels of my car. Mike suggested that the damage might be covered under my car warranty and to contact the dealership first. That's exactly what I did and the dealer covered the repair to my 11-year old car. Moody's did the repair work and it looks absolutely new! Didn't have a good experience with them. My daughter's car was towed there on a Thursday morning. They said they'd have an estimate ready later that day or early the next day. We didn't hear from them, I called Friday, Monday and Tuesday, finally Tuesday afternoon they called with the estimate. It was very expensive so we decided to get a second opinion so we had the car towed to another shop. The man on the phone was very rude to me when I told him that we were moving the car and I'd like to pay the towing charges over the phone before AAA got there. We sent the car to another body shop in South Portland (ACME)that Tuesday and 3 hours later ACME called me back with an estimate!! And it was considerably cheaper than Moody's!!! Will not be going back to Moody's again. If you want a good, quick, less expensive, less hassle, super friendly body shop go to ACME!!! read more

After my regular Repair shop closed doors because of Covid Year. I had to find a new place to go. I of course have heard of Moodys as they are one of Maines's most known places. I have heard a lot of different stories some I liked and some I thought less of none the less I choose to give them a chance. I do need to say that this shop has a very responsive call service there was no waiting on the phone along with the fact when I placed an insurance claim in with their shop I was almost immediately called and asked to come in with the car within a day or two. I enjoy a good responsive company. Now my first experience with them went bad however it was nothing that was their fault. The second time they got my car in fixed it within a day and I was back on the road. After I got it back however I Noticed that there was still a noise grr. So that was something that upset me. I called up and they took me seriously about still hearing something and scheduled me right back in for another service visit. They corrected the issue within a day. All in all, they are kind people, The shop is in an easy enough spot to get in and out of. I can't say I am happy with all the work because they missed something however they were quick to fix it so there is that. I will say out of the many shops I have tried they are far from the worst and do seem like they care about your business and making sure you leave happy. I will say if you need a place definitely check it out and just be sure to let them know what all your concerns are they will listen. read more

Let me tell you about how horrible my experience with Moody's was. I got hit on the passenger side of my car doing damage to both doors and rear fender. I called my insurance company and they told me I could drop off my car at Moody's, no need to call first. I show up and go inside and immediately the service guy starts bitching about just showing up, then takes a look at the car and proceeds to tell me the car is drivable so I should just take it with me and bring it back when they have the time for it. I refused, the doors were so smashed in there was no way if they opened they would close again. They had my vehicle for exactly a month. When I finally got it back it was absolutely filthy. They had to cut out the center column and replace it. There was dust and dirt all over the inside of the car. The outside where the repairs were done had greasy hand prints. Then I get home a few days later and there's a dent in the front fender that wasn't there before. I had gone home and hadn't left for a couple of days so I know it wasn't from me. I'm absolutely appalled by how my vehcile was treated and then the condition in which it was returned to me. I have only owned the car 3 months it was spotless when I brought it in read more

I'm not sure what's worse, being in a minor fender bender, or having to go to Moody's to get your car fixed. We had the unfortunate pleasure of needing their services after someone hit our parked car in Portland. No big deal, the process took way longer than it should have to replace a mirror, but OK, whatever. We were told the car would be vacuumed and all that, it definitely wasn't. Fast forward a few weeks and we return because I backed my car into a wall (long story short, sleep deprivation is a real thing). You don't actually get an appointment when you need to visit Moody's. They tell you it's walk-in service. As convenient as that sounds, I have no desire to end up at the place at the same time as 4 other people and wait and wait and wait, especially with a toddler in tow. Every time I call the office (because most places would call YOU to let you know that the parts have come in for your repair), it rings and rings and rings. Apparently, along with their straight-out-of-1992 office decor, they've decided that voice mail is a thing of the future and not to be trusted. read more

So I would've given Moodys a five star except for the fact that it took over two months to get my car in to have the rear bumper repaired. Honestly, I wasn't too upset about that though as the car was barely damaged and was drivable, so no big deal but thought I should mention it. I was very pleased with their timely repair once I did get it in there though. And there was great communication from them also. When I picked up my car, I was extremely pleased with not only the repairs but the condition of my car, inside and out. They gave it a good washing and a decent vacuum & detailing on the inside. I would bring my car back there again unless the damages were more serious and needed to be fixed in a more timely manner next time. (Although they may take that into account when giving you a timeframe to fix it - can't speak from experience on that). Overall, a great collision center I was pleased with. read more

Overall, I was impressed with their excellent customer service, straight forward estimate process, professional staff and quality of repairs. Our car got rear-ended and the insurance company suggest we have it fixed at Moody's. Following the initial visit and regular inquiries via phone, email or a personal visit about when the repair would take place we were told that the parts were ordered but had not come in yet. After five weeks of inactivity we found out that a preliminary estimate was never prepared and parts were never ordered. That was more than disappointing! read more

I took my car to Moody's in Scarborough after a fender bender. I received an immediate estimate and payment from my insurer was seamless. My car wasn't ready within the original estimated time for completion but they gave me a complimentary rental to make up for it--cool! Unfortunately what wasn't cool is that when I picked up my car there was a cosmetic issue that was not handled well by the individual with whom I had been dealing. I was very upset and decided to contact upper management. Two minutes after I sent an email, this was 7:30 a.m., I received a phone call from Thad Moody! I'll summarize to say that they way I was initially treated by the person at Scarborough is NOT their norm and Moody's has since done everything they can to make it right, not just with my car, but with me as a customer and person. That included a sincere apology from multiple people and an explanation of how they addressed it to prevent it from happening again. Also, because there is more than one Moody's you can take your car to any of them for warranty service of the work they performed. Twice I had to deal with Moody's, never will I use them again. The first time the hood to my car was dented because I ran into the car in front of me at a stop light. The estimate was around $5,000 dollars which I felt was really astronomical but the insurance company was paying so I didn't complain. However, it took about a month and a half to fix the car, and everytime I went there I had to wait at least a half hour to talk to someone. They gave me a rental car for about $20.00 a day that was really ugly and smelly. Recently someone hit the front door and fender. In this case the estimate was around $12,000. I barely felt the bump and the airbags did not deploy so I can't believe it could possibly cost that much. The insurance company said my car was totaled based on that estimate so now I have to try and find a new car for a small replacement value. Nobody from Moody's called me when the estimate was ready ( a week after the accident), I heard this from the insurance company! I would definitely shop around for estimates if you have an accident and avoid Moody's shiny but costly waiting area. read more
