Scott was one of them and gave us a time frame of about 3 weeks which we thought was pretty good especially since the other company couldn't get to us for over a month. We were looking to have a few semi-flush mounted light fixtures, a ceiling fan and chandelier above the stairs replaced, and an outlet added so that we could move our TV above the fireplace. Scott was very professional and worked quickly. I was both pleased and surprised that he even changed his shoes before coming in the house and swept up after himself. I was also very thankful that he was able to fix an incorrectly installed ceiling fan that could have come down at any time (our baby is obsessed sitting under and watching our ceiling fan when it is on). He is priced fairly, does great work in a timely manner, and cleans up after himself. What more can you ask for? Working with Sparkling Cleaners is not an easy task. One cleaner gave me a non-working number to…read morecontact the business. At a different number, no one answers the call, and the machine does not leave one enough time to leave an adequate message. The management does not communicate well, and it is not easy to reach them with any issues related to the schedule and/or the quality of service. When I discussed issues with Johnny today (11/24) regarding an unannounced change to today's cleaning and the subsequent ripple of changing it, he stated that he was doing the best he can and that "everyone has something and not everyone can get a regular schedule with the same cleaner..." That statement makes me wonder what one must do to become one of the clients with whom they have established regularity. Additionally, their emails often will drop into spam folders so if you do not monitor that folder, you will not see it. I was told, "if our system doesn't work for you, then perhaps we shouldn't be doing business with you." Client oriented this organization is NOT. (imagine a YODA voice) The schedule process is not ideal. Once you establish an initial schedule, they can and will change and without warning. One is never able to plan for a cleaning day. I like to be home when the cleaning occurs. For this reason, I plan other activities so that I can be present. When they cancel without notice, it through the day off. While someone else originally set up the account for me, she supplied my contact information at the time of initiation but for whatever reason, they don't use it. Any information that they provide her does not always reach me. When they do make changes, they make the changes in their system but do not let you know. The quality of the service is irregular. Since the beginning of service in July 2023 - at a rate of twice a week - there have been nine (9) cleanings completed in varying degrees of cleanness from four (4) different cleaners, Riley, Emma, Tiffany and Alishia. The first three were extremely poor cleaners and worked very slowly. Because Sparkling Cleaning employees are required to provide their own supplies, the quality of cleaning solutions, scents, etc. vary from cleaner to cleaner. That said, only Alishia works with efficiency and visible evidence of cleaning having occurred. She works quickly and is cordial. The other three provided sketchy service. How one can clean with just a couple of rags, one cleaning solution for all surfaces, a mop and water (no cleaning solution) and a vacuum is beyond me. Tiffany took the full three hours and aside from the bathrooms, it was quite visible that she did a poor job - dust remained on furniture, cobwebs in the corners of the stairs were not removed, etc. While the service provided by Sparkling Cleaning is not terribly expensive, caveat emptor.

I contacted The Oil Boys (TOB) to replace my oil burner and tank. The initial response was good…read more Later I found out my chimney was not lined, something that should have been caught. I can't imagine the headache that would have caused later. TOB pride themselves on high end installs and equipment, something I may never witness. What I can say is customer service can be much less than that. Discussions were made and I decided to go with a gas furnace. Unfortunately, gas companies do not jump when TOB say, just noting. As I worked through the issues I asked for advice in dealing with slow moving companies. I received none. TOB quote was well below others so I committed. I asked some follow-up questions and received static for asking. I asked if they could work with the gas co after they ran the new lines. Mute response. After the initial site visit most if not all of our communication was via email. Note to the inexperienced; there may come a time to invest in a phone call! TOB offered two install dates, about a week apart which amounted to an ultimatum, neither of which I could commit since the gas co were still dragging feet. TOB then dropped the bombshell and pushed the timeframe out 4 months well into winter calling it "unfortunate". My feelings were more inline with "disrespectful" and "disregard" for my needs and issues. I finally received firm dates from the gas co and was ready to commit and decided to accept the new TOB timeframe. TOB responded by breaking the contracted terms. Wow - that was unexpected. I'm sure this new company will do well eventually but I am just as sure they have much to learn. Apparently they have hardware and labor quality nailed but still have a ways to go with customer service. In business it can be either an asset or a liability. I'm afraid I'm now the latter. Apparently, pride, and lack of humility prevented any mending of a souring relationship rather than relying on luck. Too bad. All the same... Best of luck!
