A friend of mine had an antique document he wanted to frame, so he asked me for my advice on where to go. Not knowing anything about picture framing, I of course needed a little Yelp from my friends; so to speak. And, that is how I came upon Moonlight Picture Framing. Like Wow! It has six stellar Five Star reviews by established Yelpers who have done other reviews, have lots of pictures including their own, so you can be pretty sure they are real, not friends or paid of accomplices of the business. First off, I was more than delighted to see that Moonlight Picture Framing has been in business since 1965, which for a South Florida business is a long, long time. Next, I was delighted with the shop, though small, super clean without any clutter to be seen and with an impressive stock in inventory. On first impressions you can see that they are capable of living up to their motto of "Anything you can think to frame....we can do." When we entered we were given a warm greeting then asked some pertinent question we hadn't thought about, such as whether clear glass or no gloss no reflective, and were given some good information as to which we should choose. Then some really good advice on frames and frame selection. Following the advice we made our selections and my friend picked it up a week later, and the workmanship was outstanding with outstanding mitering of the corners and overall superlative professional workmanship. We were both totally delighted with the work they performed and more than happy that we had followed the advice given to us in our selections of glass and frame. read more

Great selection of frames, friendly, knowledgeable and delivered on time! We bought a $5 poster (literally) from Folsom History Museum when we were in California visiting family and brought it back with us to Florida to get framed. I used Smith's for a previous framing job and wanted to give someone else a try. I called first to get a general sense of how much things would cost and spoke to Jason. My immediate impression was "wow, this guy's really enthusiastic and wants my business." He highly encouraged me to drop by with the piece to get an more accurate estimate. It took me another couple months before I had the time to drop by, but when I did, I was impressed by the frame and matte selection, as well as how truly friendly and genuine these guys are. Throughout the process of choosing a frame, matte, and glass, they never rushed me - I think I was there for at least 1.5 hours. After I made a decision, a random downpour outside made me stay longer and both Jason and his wife engaged another customer and I in a conversation about art, local artists, etc. They seem to have a finger on the local art pulse. I left that day and set a date in my calendar for when they said it would be done. They didn't disappoint. I received a call two days before my calendar alert and picked up my piece on time - three weeks from the day I dropped it off. My poster no longer looks like a $5 poster. Price-wise, I wasn't in complete sticker shock, as I know it has to cost something for materials and labor. I also upgraded to UV glass. What I appreciated was that they handled my $5 poster like a precious art piece, worked with me on pricing, and made me feel welcomed from the minute I stepped in the door. read more

This is an excellent place to meet all your picture framing needs. Tucked inside a very industrial area just south of Sunrise Blvd, and north of Downtown Ft. Lauderdale, you'll have a hard time finding the place, but once you do, you're in luck. The shop is run by Roy (who I think owns it), and Jason (who I think is his name). They are two very nice, patient, and hard working individuals. The store is small, but has a big punch! Roy will work with you to help you find the perfect match for whatever your framing needs are. Jason will make sure your framing job is done perfectly, and professionally. I discovered Moonlight after first moving up to Ft. Lauderdale from Miami. I had this very old picture in a frame that cracked while moving, and I wanted to fix it. I cringe at the idea of going to a place like Michaels, when I know there are frame shops, independently owned, all throughout our city. I found Moonlight based on their location (conveniently located near me), and a few good reviews. I thought I'd give them a shot, and they certainly proved to be worth the risk. The picture hangs in my dining room to this day, and I can't believe they were able to replicate the original framing that was used for this picture (see attached picture... it's pretty cool). All in all I strongly recommend everyone in Ft. Lauderdale to turn to Moonlight for their framing needs. Don't go to Michaels. Instead throw your business to someone Local, someone who's been around longer than Michaels, and someone who will give you the customer service, and ability to meet your needs, that you deserve. read more

Jason and Roy are the Best in the Area. And just great guys.... period. I brought in a tough, and valuable project for them to help me problem solve. I had a semi-high valued large mounted photograph, previously gallery framed, project that needed professional hands. The original frame has seen some major bend and damage from the original owner. I was afraid it was maybe unsalvageable. Many framers wouldn't give me the time of day, or gave me the impression I wasnt worth their time. Frustrating to say the least. BUT! ... Not Jason, he was edger and happy to help! Explaining he, "Loved a challenge from the mundane framing jobs". When we met he was very friendly, very thorough, and explained how and why he would attempt to fix the frame. He was confident he could do what others said could NOT be done. I started coming here about 2 years ago. I've had about 6 prints framed here. Agree w/ some other comments, that can be tricky to find (next to car dealership and warehouses). But, service is always good. Owners are friendly, and don't feel pushy or sketchy. They try to cater to your tastes and are very patient. I usually spend a while looking through their hundreds of frames. They have this new non-reflective UltraVue glass which is awesome (clear, w/ UV protection). I have been working on a remodeling project that involved replacing some old closet cabinet doors from the 1960's. I wanted to keep the vintage look. I decided to try duplicating the old doors by using framing material with a wallpaper covered wood insert for the new doors. When I stared looking for a framer to help me make my vision a reality, I didn't have much luck. It is very difficult to find an actual framer. Most companies either send the artwork out, or they order pre-assembled frames and only insert the artwork in house. I wound up ordering framing material on line. Too make a long story short, even though the company was very helpful, and willing to replace material that had arrived damaged, it became clear that my original idea just wasn't going to work for some of the larger sized doors. I walked into Moonlight Picture Framing with a new plan, and asked if they would be willing to cut and assemble my framing material. Jason could not have been nicer, or more willing to help. First of all, I was so happy to have found someone who actually had the equipment and expertise to cut and assemble framing material. Secondly, I was thrilled to have found someone who was willing to work with the material I had already purchased.
