I ended up landing on the fishcakes and salad ($18) instead of the heavier breakfast fishcakes iteration, as I was anticipating a hearty dinner and some greenery would be a bit lighter in the belly than eggs, homefries and toast. Three fishcakes were dotted with salmon, haddock and bright pops of green onion. They had a nice little crust from the griddle, and a chow brought its signature mix of acidity and sweetness to balance things out. The greens were fresh, and candied pecans, goat cheese and tart slices of Granny Smith apple added layers of flavour and texture. My wife's fried chicken sandwich ($19 + $2 sweet potato fries upgrade) was a towering mass of savoury delight. Two pieces of crispy, fried chicken was topped with creamy coleslaw, with some tartness showing up to the party care of the pickles. The SPF were good and crisp, and their chipotle mayo made for delicious dipping. Service was friendly, but needed some nudges on a busy Saturday afternoon. Big bonus points for the baked goods we took home! Ultra-chocolate-y brownies; massive, cheesy cheddar bagels; and a dee-lish-ous (bad spelling added for emphasis) cheddar and jalapeno bread.
