Went in today at around 1:30 pm today only to be ignored by the employees! I received no welcome greeting or even acknowledged upon walking in. I looked around to see inventory before I turning around to talk to employees for assistance and they actually turned their backs to me to continue their conversation! I hope management will review footage from today so they can verify who they need to retrain on greeting customers and to pause personal conversations when customers are present. I'm guessing they don't work on commission here to explain the lack of service to not care that much about sales. Just going to stick with Guitar Center and Sweetwater for actual service. read more

Trash. This place is a money grab with lack luster customer service. They will smile at you as they take your money all the way until you walk out the door. If anything goes awry with your products expect to get a giant phallus in you ear hole of excuses as the owner drives away in a brand new truck. While mom and pop guitar shops are a rarity and should be coveted, this place can rightfully die in with the mega corporate take over. It's great to have a full service music store right in the neighborhood- I think this is a real gem, and a great asset to have in the community! Great service, very helpful with all of my random questions, and now that this middle-aged guy is standing in line with the aspiring 9-year old musicians for guitar lessons, I can wholeheartedly recommend the lessons and the instructors. Mick Radford has been very gracious in helping me un-learn years of bad (self-taught) habits and practices, slowly building a foundation to actually learn some theory and better habits. I have tried other (small, local) shops, and never felt I got the service to make it worth frequenting them; And the online/superstore experiences have always been hit (and mostly) miss; kind of hard to figure out which beginner book to buy when some wanna-be feels the need to shred at 120 db a dozen feet away. If the folks here don't know or don't carry a product you are looking for, they will let you know and assist however they can. Since I first wrote this, I bought a semi-expensive piece of practice hardware from them- I got the on line coupon deal, while standing in store, and received the package in two days direct from the manufacturer, at less than Amazon (and any other on-line retailer I would trust) is offering. So, competitive prices, great service, knowledgable staff- if you are looking for anything musical, I strongly suggest you start here. As a parent with child taking class here, I would strongly suggest the parent to pay attention to the actual length of the classes you got. After a few times of observing shorter classes than what I paid for, with a actual 20-minute class for a supposed-to-be-30-minute class, I lost the trust to this place. read more

I'm visiting relatives from out of town. I stopped by just to check the place out and buy a pick. Nice selection of instruments. The guy working there (May have been the owner) had just opened and was very tolerant of my two obnoxious young boys playing the keyboard and drums. He even gave one of them drumsticks! I would love to have a music store like this in my neighborhood. Support your local small businesses! I am curious why they don't carry Gibson instruments. I'm a huge Gibson fan. I didn't have a chance to ask though, because I didn't want to subject the poor guy to any more of the musical stylings of two loud boys. read more

The store manager has the worst customer service and I was completely missed informed and wasted 2 hrs of my night. Dillan is his name, I have never spoken with anyone as ride as him. He stated they follow a scripts when answering the phone for music rental which they do and he did not follow. I will be calling his boss... Dillan Sucks!!!! read more

Great teachers, easy to reschedule when necessary, playful ambience, store with cool stuff.

My son is currently taking lessons at this store, but I'm not very satisifed. The teacher has canceled on us numerous times, but the one time we had to cancel due to my son being sick, I got a huge lecture and the guy wouldn't even stop working on a guitar for one second to reschedule us. Not worth the trouble for what you get, unfortunately. UPDATE: I just received a lovely apology from Moore Bros for my negative experience today. They also credited me one free lesson as a part of their apology. I have to say that I truly appreciate a company who sincerely makes an effort to put things right. I'll give 'em another star! read more

If you're looking for gear or lessons on the Eastside, this is without a doubt the place to go. Between myself and my 3 kids, we've probably worked with all the instructors there at one time or another and can't speak highly enough about them. Prices on gear are very competitive and whilst you may be a buck or two less at one of the big box stores, the support and attention you get makes up for that many-fold. read more

A great store I've been renting from for almost 8 years. The staff are fantastic and friendly and quite knowledgeable about music. When I started playing guitar and my first string broke, I took it there and the service guy taught me how to restring it. I love this store so much, If they're hiring I'd love to work there. This is the place to go if you want to buy things over about $50. I have bought nearly all of my guitar gear here and they have great policies on returns. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and could talk for hours about possible configurations on your instrumental setup. One owner is a guitarist and the other is a drummer, but they know a lot outside of their main instruments. One downside is that they don't carry Gibson or Epiphone guitars, but one of the guitar playing owner has completely reasonable explanations for not carrying Gibsons. The reason I say I love this place for things over $50 dollars is because for things they carry in store can be found other places for cheaper. For example, buying a 24 pack of strings on Amazon is cheaper in the long run than buying each pack of strings periodically at this store. But considering anything else expensive, Moore Brothers Music rules. My other reserve is that they don't carry much used gear. In that case I make the trek up to Guitar Center but you really have to be careful of getting screwed over. You can make special orders from any of the brands they carry (ie. Fender, Gretsch, PRS). I ordered a Jaguar for a pick up in store and it arrived just as expected, in great condition, with nothing for me to complain about. In summary, if you need strings, either order them off Amazon or go to Guitar Center where they're cheaper. But if you need a pedal or guitar, go here with pride. read more

Highly recommended! A terrific resource - knowledgeable, friendly folks that can help you attain your goals on your musical journey. They're a dealer for Taylor guitars; I bought one of the flagship models, and they beat the web price, plus there was a 10% discount because I was taking music lessons at the store. The acoustics of the guitar are so lovely it's hard to stop playing. After 3 months of lessons, as an adult student with some music background but a beginner on guitar, I am well on my way to my goal of playing fingerstyle. read more

Moore Brothers Music is a good shop, and one of the few on the Sammamish plateau. And that may be one of their problems. They act like they don't need your business. Coming into the shop, they rarely said 'hello' unless you went out of your way to say something first. The guy at the front counter had his head buried in the computer all the time. They never said boo to my wife or child ever. So while they have decent instructors, their customer service is not the best in my opinion. read more

Moore Music is a fantastic place to go for lessons or gear. The folks are very friendly and knowledgeable. My son has taken voice lessons from Hans and I am taking guitar lessons from Harrison. They are both excellent instructors - as good as it gets! I highly recommend them. read more

Moore Brothers Music is a good shop, defiitely. Yes, the guys there are busy as Erik B stated. However, it's because they've been staffing and running this business for several years now on their own without help. It's was renovated in July , looks awesome, and they are finally able to help much more with their customers, and their staff of teachers is very good. They definitely take a lot of pride in every detail. No, they won't let you play anything and manhandle their equipment like GC. However, they will help you as much as they can, give the exact same pricing as the big box stores, bend over backwards to help if there's ever a problem, and continually bring in new lines of product. I was just in and saw the new store and it's awesome. It's very visible, open, and easy to find what you are looking for. It did look like they were still there by themselves...buried in computers as Erik said, but I asked and they are finally bringing in help to run the store so they can give more personal customer support. read more
