She had a planned surgical admit for an urgent ovarian tumor removal and traveled to BSA Amarillo from New Mexico for surgery. Her surgery was performed by an expert in GYN Oncology, Dr T. Farzan. Her experience at BSA was AMAZING! Dr Farzan was so skilled, he removed the tumor mass in it's entirety, and was able to leave her with her other ovary and uterus intact! Sweet news! The personalized care delivered by the peri-op team, Anesthesiologist, Assisting MD, PACU RN's, and surgical Team on 3 C were amazing. They wouldnt check my drain bulb an I was having to dump it in the trash can. The tech at night was bad. Nurse made me think I thought I pissed myself an checked my foolly an said it was a drip of pee but I ran down into my bed which I have pictures of it. My room was disgusting cause of having to clean my self up with blankets an they just let it sit on the floor all night. Only think the night tech did was empty my piss bottle once. I was awake when they said I was sleeping soundly. Didnt see the nurse the next day for 3 hrs after I finally got up cause I needed pain medication. Whats even sadder is I had to call the er to call the floor I was on to get help when I pissed myself. I had no working call buttons. Worst stay ever.

Just now I looked again and there's no sign of them even having a dining area much less, what the daily menu might be. Compare that to BSA where at any time you can look up their menu to see what they are serving. I went here a couple weeks ago about 5:30 p.m. which I thought would be a safe time, right in the middle of a normal dinner time. But they had very few offerings. There was a fairly extensive salad bar so that's what I got. Everything else except for maybe pizza seemed to be closed for the day. I think someone told me those foods are only available until 2:30. But as I was leaving I saw people lined up to order hamburgers from the grill so that information given to me must have been incorrect. I could have gotten a hamburger or something instead of, or to go along with, my salad. The salad itself was perfectly good. Certainly not gourmet, nor did I expect that. I have noticed that all hospital cafeterias seem to serve food that I do not personally consider overly healthy, laden with chemicals, preservatives, fillers and excessive salt and sugar. I would expect better from a hospital than from a restaurant. At BSA they definitely have a 10% senior discount. At Northwest there didn't seem to be any such thing and I think I did remember to ask about it but the employee was far from friendly and pretty much ignored my question. I was charged by the pound for the salad and it came to $8. I just noticed at the top of the receipt it says the Blue Point Cafe so I will try googling that to see if any more information comes up. The foods on the menu that sounded good would only be available at lunch time I guess. I didn't get a picture of the salad bar but I did get a picture of my actual salad. It was a warm enough day that it did hit the spot. I love desserts but none of theirs looked appealing enough to buy. A different person might find something they liked though. If you happen to be visiting someone in the hospital then I'm sure this place would do the job. I do think that the employees need to be a little more welcoming. I realize it's not a restaurant but basic human decency says people should be pleasant and friendly and helpful to each other. The people at BSA have always been so to me. I can't help but compare the two since they are both hospital cafeteria type places.

As soon as they arrive to the ER they raised their voice at her to calm down and it startled my mom so she tried her best to be calm. She was admitted into a room where they stitched her up with 20 plus stitches and then ran an x ray on her hand to see if her fingers were indeed broken. The whole time she was there which was well over 1 hour mins she did not receive anything other than numbing shots on her hand for the stitches which obviously wore out. She was not given any type of medicine to calm her down or anything for the pain. Once the nurse returned we were informed that three of her fingers were fractured, and they couldn't do anything but tell us to head to Liberal, KS. My mom at this point was again in very, very bad pain and was almost squirming on the bed and the nurse did nothing but watch her cluelessly. The doctor prescribed two different medications that we had to go pick up from the pharmacy. (It's Labor Day so we weren't even sure if any where open!) Since my mom was again in excruciating pain I asked did the doctor go ahead and call in the prescription so it can be ready as soon as we arrive and the nurse said "No this doctor only writes out all his prescriptions." They discharged her with nothing more than a piece of tape on her fingers, yes a piece of scotch looking tape to put her fingers straight in place. There were other items mentioned on the discharge papers that weren't even given to us! Apparently if you enjoy to be tortured in pain go to this POS hospital! If you would like to be treated HUMAN it's well damn worth the 40 minute drive to an ACTUAL hospital in Liberal, KS. The so called "doctors'" name was Gary, this took place the 6 of September 2021 at about 8:30AM and was discharged at 10AM. Ridiculous honestly this hospital serves no purpose, shut this sh*thole down before someone loses their life because they aren't taken serious.
