We are still in the time of COVID, so he was masked - as was I - and all of our interactions were outdoors. I have a large dog, and David was not phased. The doggie is usually hesitant around male strangers, but she was very comfortable around David (win!). I don't believe it needed any parts just an adjustment, but what do I know. Anyway, I asked him how much would it be to get a new one and he said $1,350 installed. I was a little surprised since everyone else quoted me half that price. When I proceeded to ask why he mentioned the Tarrifs, eventhough the pricing through Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Rona and Costco have not have stayed relatively the same. He then mentioned that if I replace all three garage doors they have a special to include an opener. That's when I knew it was time to end the conversation, gave him his $30 for coming out and walked away. I gave the review 2 stars because he showed up on time and seemed like a nice guy.

We accepted the price he quoted without any negotiation because we were looking for quality workmanship, not the cheapest option. When he came to install the garage doors, he repeatedly complained that he had quoted too low a price. Unfortunately, the quality of the installation reflected that. The doors were installed so poorly that we had to hire another company to remove and reinstall them properly. There was a gap of approximately 2-3 inches between the door and the wall, which is completely unacceptable. He also installed the garage door opener and programmed the remote, but then took the remote with him when he left. We never received it back. In addition, the brand new opener included an exterior wireless keypad, which he also took, even though we paid the full price of approximately $650 for the opener. I would not recommend this company. If the quoted price is not sufficient, that should be addressed before the work begins, not through poor workmanship or by withholding parts that were included in the purchase. BEWARE OF FOX DOORS…read more I had an extremely disappointing experience with Fox Doors and would strongly caution anyone considering using this company. I purchased FIVE commercial garage doors from Fox Doors for approximately $34,000 cash based on representations made by Daniel Vorobiov and Eddie (Eduard) Vorobiov. Their written quotation specifically stated: * R20 fully insulated Canadian-made doors * All new tracks, springs, and hardware * LiftMaster commercial-grade operators * 10 YEAR WARRANTY on all panels One of the conditions of the sale was that they would arrange installation after I paid cash upfront. After the doors were delivered, I was then told they could not provide an installer for approximately two months, forcing me to find and pay another installer myself just to complete the project. After installation, Fox Doors later claimed the doors required "fine tuning." They charged me an additional $2,000 to send one of their own technicians to adjust the doors. During that visit, their technician broke a torsion spring and another operator was left malfunctioning afterward. I have photo and video documentation regarding the condition of the doors and equipment. When I contacted Daniel and Eddie regarding the damage caused during their service visit, I was told I would need to pay for a replacement spring myself, even though their technician broke it. After multiple attempts to resolve the matter professionally, I was eventually told I had no warranty coverage despite the written quotation referencing warranty coverage and new spring/hardware systems. In my experience, the communication, accountability, and customer service were extremely poor. The agreement and expectations changed significantly after payment was made, and I was left with damaged equipment, additional costs, and unresolved problems. Buyer beware. Make sure every promise, installation commitment, service obligation, and warranty term is clearly documented in writing before making payment

We purchased a Garaga door in 1993 from the Door Doctor. There have been two previous spring…read morefailures and each time the service technician came and replaced the springs, only charging us for labour as the parts were covered by the lifetime warranty from the Door Doctor as we were the original purchasers. The expectation is that people will move frequently and the warranty will end. Well, yesterday another spring failed and now the Door Doctor is trying to change the warranty and tell us that the warranty is no longer valid as we did not bring them in to lubricate the springs and rollers. The contract only specifies that lubrication needs to be done, and as the last technician showed me what to do, I have done so spring and fall. Nowhere does it say the lubrication needs to be done by them, only that repairs need to be done by the company. We have gone round and round on circular arguments where they are refusing to honour the warranty. The company that was once honourable has changed under new ownership. my request to speak to someone who would honour the warranty was denied by Service. Why would a company expect me to bring them in and pay full price for their services when they have displayed a lack of integrity?

Suggest you compare prices - I was charged $523 incl.hst, and that included a 'lube kit' for $18 (!) which he said was their special formula. I do feel I was taken advantage of. I am sure the same work could be done for a lot less money.

We called them 1 year ago directly to ask if they'd just be good enough to replace the plastic window strip that they gave us the pleasure of broken plastic window guides. How the window has fallen out yet is a miracle. These people did the work we called them they have not made any attempts to warranty any issues. You don't even have to be an installer to know that they couldn't even install the hinges straight look at the pictures! One star is far too generous.
